The Trilogy Albums: ¡Uno!, ¡Dos!, and ¡Tré!

Also (and this I'm not 100% sure so if there's someone here who speaks Italian as their native lenguage, please correct me if I'm wrong), Italian doesn't use the exclamation mark at the beginning of the word/sentence ( ¡ ) as well as at the end ( ! ), just Spanish uses that as far as I know. So the names of the albums Uno and Dos are meant to be in Spanish. Not Italian.

Besides we've already had Green Day using Spanish in titles before (¡Viva la Gloria! and ¿Viva la Gloria?), so it's not something totally unheard of from them.

it's not about the language, I was referring to Billie's constant use of "You know". I f you pronounce Uno differently, you get You know.

I know but I didn't understand why that's the reason they chose it in Spanish instead of Italian when it's Uno as well in Italian

Ok. Quick Spanish/Italian lesson (my native lenguage is Spanish, and I took some basic levels of Italian, so I think I know my numbers alright) because I've seen a lot of people starting to think the names are in Italian.

One = Uno, both in Italian and Spanish.

Two = Dos in Spanish. Due in Italian.

Three = Tres in Spanish (and tres sounds a lot like Tré). Tre (without the mark on the "e") in Ialian (and it does sound almost exactly like Tré).

So if they meant to do the Uno-Y'know pun on purpose they could have named the albums in either Italian or Spanish because 1 it's said the same way in both lenguages.

And 3 is not exatly Tré in either lenguage.

thx for adding to my statement :D

/Fell For Snoo/Dirty Rotten Bastards/Wild One/Soda Pop Curtis/Lazy Bones/Sex Drugs+Violence/Amanda/Its Fuck Time (29 new songs) so that could almost be 10 songs an album

I wanna hear Ashley so bad cause it's my name. I hope it's on one of the albums!

That's why these titles make me jump of happiness

And just to add to what you say, they also sing "Salud" in All The Time... :D And when they came to Argentina in 1998 sang the chorus of Knowledge in Spanish, too. (Todo lo que sé es que no sé nada)

Hahahaha. I didn't know they had done that at their show there. I seems they improved a bit their Spanish as the tour around South America went on because in Caracas (their first stop of that tour) their Spanish was a bit too rough. Billie did have to ask for the light to go out in Spanish during Holiday because after many failed attempts to get the spot light on him off he figured the guy handleling that light couldn't understand English. Lol.

Honestly I'd rather have a bunch of songs we haven't heard rather than "I want to hear this song that I'm not supposed to know about." That's one of the reasons I kinda like that there's going to be a lot of songs on this album...since they'll give us something that our moles/spies/insiders didn't.

I must be in the distinct minority when I say I haven't heard one new song yet. I refused to listen to the live recordings from the secret shows, I wanna hear these songs in their studio forms first then move onto hearing them live with Billie Joe, Mike and Tre in the same proximity as me. Last time I listened to live recordings before an album it just ruined the experience for me, but that's just me!

I'm sure they'll be songs you haven't got to hear/heard of on these albums. I've got it in my head we're aiming for an average of 10-11 songs per album otherwise it's just not worth calling it 3 albums. Some songs from the secret shows may just not make the cut this time around and will go into the vault where the songs sleep until they are called upon again for another try. I've still got my faith with these albums being great, time will tell!

I'm with you on this one actually. I've just heard Stay the Night because it came to light when they were still touring with 21stCB and it was so long before they started talking about a new album. And then Amy for I had to confirm it was a tribute to Amy Winehouse since I happen to be one of the admins/news editor of a local Green Day fan site... which has also made it harder to stay away from these new songs. I'm managing though. I already made the mistake of spoiling 21stCB for myself and it kind of made the whole thing far less exciting. Don't want to have that happening again.

This is me too. I hate spoilers so much, and that covers music too. I've heard two or three songs, but I didn't go looking for all the new songs because those were for those people in those clubs last year. Okay, I was a little bitter they were keeping such an official lid on everything and not sharing, I admit that...somehow that drove me NOT to listen to the stuff from it. I don't know how that works. Anyway, I don't know why you'd want to go listen to a bunch of awful quality recordings that will make you prejudge what comes out as the final product. If they wanted you to hear, they'd have released it the first time. That sounds logical...

And shit, I do have to fess up to Stay the Night since I joined GDC to download it...that was before my bouts with video games that I spoiled for myself though.

Unpopular opinion from what I can see: I would be more than happy if they left Stay The Night off all 3 albums entirely. It feels really generic and just generally not new and exciting :lazy: ... It just doesn't go anywhere and I could care less about the lyrics (especially when you think about how fucking great a songwriter Billie is)

Glad to see I'm not alone with this! I hope that I didn't come across like an elitist douche bag when I posted it. It's no easy feat with all that temptation floating around on the internet but I'm sure I will enjoy these albums quite a lot when they are finally given to us (as will you both and whoever else is resisting).

It'll be interesting to see what the band starts including in their studio update videos now that more details are out to the public.

I also agree. I've only listened to Amy and Carpe Diem because the quality of the recordings were actually good.....hahah I triiiiied listening to other ones but damn I just can't put myself through the terrible quality where you can barely even hear it lol....might as well wait for the real thing.

I haven't heard any of the songs from the secret shows. I didn't even know some of these songs existed.

I have been so out of touch with Green Day :pinch:

But it will be special to hear good quality recordings of them all.

Like we said in this weeks episode of Static Noise, ¡Uno!, ¡Dos!, and ¡Tre! might only be subtitles to the album. For example the albums could be put out as Nuclear Family: ¡Uno! and so on.

Oh man, I hope not. Trying to get the "¡"s to scrobble correctly in Last.fm is going to be a bitch as is, but having a colon and other elements? Shit! Yes, that's the type of thing I worry about.

I feel like very few of the songs they played over the past year will be on these. they've never done that before, and why do it now when they are at this point of their career?

I even downloaded all songs from 21st Century Breakdown and burnt it on a CD before I bought the original CD and that was a bad idea as well :(

I don't think I really intended to listen to the secret show recordings. I don't even know why I did, I guess I was excited and just sort of did it automatically. I've had moments of being angry at myself for ruining the surprise but I'm not that bothered anymore, I'm just excited to hear studio versions now.

Billie did have to ask for the light to go out in Spanish during Holiday because after many failed attempts to get the spot light on him off he figured the guy handleling that light couldn't understand English. Lol.

Hahaha really? That's epic

I've just re-watched the video and from watching that how can we be sure that the album titles are Uno, Dos, Tre?

Ignore: Me being dumb. Billie's tweet did say Uno, Dos, Tre... but could that still mean simply album 1, album 2 and album 3... hmmm.

I think it's the press release that really made the album names final…
