They were fillming another video under a bridge in LA on Monday, so either it's extra parts of Oh Love, maybe the motorcycle bits Mike was talking about, or they're filming Uno's videos back to back

Mike's motorcycle parts for the video were filmed over the weekend as well, guess it's just another part of the video :)

Also, we can pre-order the box set on Monday which probably means we'll find out the other two tracklists. No need to worry if certain songs aren't on leaked tracklists, Monday isn't too far away anymore! I wonder what else you'll get in that box set.

i hope ur write with the tracklists on monday..i also cant wait for the price for the box set..hopefully i wont be too expensive because off all the awesome stuff you get

Is this official or just a well made fanmade one? Looks really professional ...

It's probably fanmade. It could easily be made using stencils and black spray paint. Plus, I don't think that Green Day would advertise a new product like that, with the stencils and everything showing in the picture.

Oh yeah, I hadn't noticed that at the bottom. You're probably right XD

It's weird because Billie says there's only a concept if it's accidental, but (assuming the tracklists are correct) I can kind of see a vague one running even through the titles already. Not a concrete Christian and Gloria thing, but definitely this forbidden love theme with before the party, at the party and then cleaning up the mess/self-reflecting. Totally personal observation, not an analysis or anything I think Billie had in mind :)

I think the tracklists are probably right though, two of the interviewers said that Stray Heart was track 4 on Tre, it could have been moved or Billboard could have messed up. They do seem kind of legit otherwise, I don't know why the guy who originally posted them would lie.

They should have made Kill The DJ the first single. From the album preview, it sounds like it would be an upbeat song that gets people excited for the album. Instead, we get a slow-paced pop rock song that sounds so much like every song from 21st Century Breakdown.

Not trying to be too negative, but if they consider themselves a rock band, they should probably play rock music.

I don't think it really matters if they picked the wrong song as the first single. There will be many more singles to come and some may even give a greater impact.

And how do you not consider Oh Love as rock music? What is it then, techno? Come on.

The first single of an album will always have the most impact. Oh Love isn't a bad song by any means, but it shouldn't have been their first choice for a single. Essentially, Warner wasted their chance to blow the music world away with a "pure" rock song that reminds people of the old Green Day.

And as a user above said, the song is power pop. Not a rock song.

The best you can give an example power pop is The Beatles. Mostly their early stuff (I Want To Hold You Hand, Please Please Me, Can't Buy Me Love)

It's a bit of Pop and Rock mixed around. So it's sorta goes like poppy vocals and melodies and rock instrumentals.

:D That's my knowledge to Power Pop.

Power Pop now is We the Kings(really awesome band !), All Time Low, Mayday Parade. According to AP Magazine and a few other outlets.

In my personal opinion Oh Love is closer to rock than power pop.

I know Uno has been described by the band as a power pop record, but I don't believe that means that all the songs on it will be pure power pop

But is it Mike the one who rides a motorbike? It totally fits him xD but don't Billie and Tré also ride one?

Are you sure about that, people have short memories, a hit released right now will have died out and be overshadowed by another song by the time the album is out.

I think It's best to keep the biggest potentials radio hits closer to the album releases.

Umm...just saying, but according to Wikipedia, power pop is a sub-genre of rock, not pop. Also, according to Pete Townshend of the Who, as cited in Wikipedia's article, that's what kind of music they played, and it was also what kind of music the Beatles, the Kinks, the Beach Boys, the Byrds, the Hollies, and the Monkees played. Some other bands that had power pop influences were Cheap Trick, the Cars, and Blondie.

So, moral to the story is, before you accuse Green Day of not playing rock by doing a power pop song, make sure that you know what exactly power pop is. :)

Thanks! It was actually not entirely clear to me what power pop exactly was. So thanks for clearing that up for me :)

If those new pics are from "Kill The DJ" (according to suppositions) then I hope they show the dj that got killed... haha  no, I'm just kidding.

Yes, they do. But Mike never said it was him riding a motorbike. He just said there are scenes with motorcycles...

You're welcome! It wasn't entirely clear to me, either, that's why I went to look up. I also sort of gathered from the article that power pop is closely related to garage rock and punk rock.

Edit: I forgot to add that it's also related to pop punk, which is what people have said that some of Green Day's stuff is.

Well it was said in one of the Billboard article that they would release a video of 4 songs from Uno. It is still unclear how they will exactly realize that, but my guess is that they will do 2 official videos and the other 2 will be either filled with footage of the documentary (or the bits that did not make the cut so far) or just lyrics videos.

If they still have to shoot the video, I know some DJ's here in Holland of which I would be more than happy to volunteer as the DJ that will be killed in the video :) *sinister laugh*

I think you have to take into consideration that everything Green Day does, and every genre they choose to explore, will always have that fundamental factor of them being Green Day and Green Day being a band with rock and punk influence, but above all, Green Day is Green Day, and therefore you could say that this song is power pop, but from a Green Day standard. It's still rock influenced, and i would dare say punk as well.

That's just not true. I'd argue that in most cases the most successful Green Day songs off each of their albums were not first singles---BOBD was the most successful Green Day single ever, and it wasn't the first. Good Riddance wasn't the first. 21 Guns wasn't the first... Brain Stew wasn't first...

"Impact" doesn't mean much here.

Biggest impact of a single from 21st Century Breakdown; 21 Guns, second single

From American Idiot; Boulevard of Broken Dreams, second single

Nimrod; Good Riddance, second single

Dookie; Basket Case, third single (second music video)

If any pattern and not merely coincedence, the best is always saved for the second release.

The task of the first single is to create awareness whatever which way, and Oh Love (a song falling under the ROCK subgenre; power pop) does that with it's simplicity and catchy hooks, and a possibly really bad-ass video.
