Undómiel
Actually, I'm more scared than excited with this. I don't know, but, three albums does seem a little much, a bit cocky, even. I know the band is known for trying new things, but this... this could either be amazing, mediocre, or just a blunder. Also, I really don't like the names, 'dos' just happens to be a word that I hate saying I think they can pull it off. But by the law of averages there are going to be some songs on there that aren't of 'Jesus of Suburbia' standard..
DannyDirnt
Seems like you're getting pissed at me And I'm getting a little tired of people almost directly stating that Billie is the best and should stay lead in all 3 albums.I'm NOT a fan of a wrong band,I love all of them, but Mike is the best to me.I just wanna see some of my favorite GD member,is that so bad? If you wanted to listen to Billie you could still go listen to 9 albums,I'm only praying for a little album for Mike.I don't necessarily have to prefer Billie over all of them to be a fan.You prefer Billie ok.I prefer Mike.I have a different point of view, and I'm feeling pretty bashed for it. Schlappy
I have always preferred Mike over Billie and Tré and whoever you can think of.Always wanted him to sing more. And my guess is that this happens because Billie has been singing lead for 8 albums all over 23 years! We have a lot of Billie,we have many songs with him singing lead.My point of view is that, for a time,it would be awesome to see a twist, and maybe the proper attention to Mike and Tré from now on. An album for each one would be epic, because you'd still have your oh so loved Billie singing, but us Mike and Tré fans could get some of what we want too.You don't have to focus on Billie,he has sung lead for GD for 23 years and I'm sure he'll still do it till the end of Green Day,but Mike and Tré deserve a chance too. Anyways I'd be ok if Billie sang all of them,but...I prefer a little change for a time. i'm going out on a limb here and saying i think youre a bit biased, heh. This discussion makes no sense to me, billies the lead singer, Mikes the bass player, and Tres the drummer... why would they switch randomly? its not "billies sung the lead for GD for 23 years", its billie is the singer. we wouldnt want BJ playing the drums would we? no. why would they do each others jobs... oh well doesn't matter
Undómiel
Besides the great news, i only fear that the albums will feel a bit rushed. I mean, they're not the Beatles. No they're not.... They're better. Silverlight
I think they can pull it off. But by the law of averages there are going to be some songs on there that aren't of 'Jesus of Suburbia' standard.. I do think they could pull it off, but I do have a lot of doubt. But that's because I'm a fairly negative person. But still, why couldn't they choose different names D:
Marki.
Each of them having their album really doesn't seem like a plausible idea... I would love for Mike to have more singing space though, as I love each and every one of the songs he somehow contributed to.

solongfromthestars
They're Green Day. They can pull off anything. And like I said before, I'm sure the titles are going to sound much better when we get some badass album art. I think I quite like them anyway, actually. They're definitely growing on me. On the subject of Mike and Tre albums (and I'm sorry if I sound like I'm bashing anyone, it really isn't meant that way), isn't that like Billie swapping to bass or drums? He just is the lead vocalist, Mike's the bassist, Tre plays drums. That's Green Day. Maybe they could sing on another side project, where Billie isn't specifically the lead vocalist. Like the Network. I say that as a fan of each one of them, not just Billie. I'm not even quite sure why I'm joining this discussion, but yes. Lindsay
Well,I have to say I don't care about Tré.All I want it Mike singing,I never liked Tré's songs that much. They aren't bad though. And they ARE great singers.Billie is just epic, but they are great.Maybe you don't like them, but Mike has an awesome voice for real, rawer punk.Tré is pretty good at Dominated Love Slave, which I think is country. That you don't like them doesn't mean they aren't great singers.Tbh I think Mike would do waaaaaayy better than Billie in a Governator-like styled album Wait what? You went through that whole thing about how Tré deserves more credit than what he gets and now you're saying you don't care about him? If you're going to have an opinion, stick to it. And did I ever say they were bad singers? No. Mike is perfect for harmonies and the occasional song where Tré sings is great, I'm just saying, the idea of each of them having lead vocals on an album is stupid and won't happen. It would be too scattered and confusing and would probably turn a lot of people off from buying the albums. Green Day consists of Billie being the lead vocalist/guitarist, Mike as harmonies/bass, and Tré on drums. That's the way it's been for years and I don't ever see that changing. E!!i
Exactly! I don't get why everyone suddenly seems to want Mike and Tre to do the vocals. I love Billie's voice, it's actually one of the reasons why Green Day is my favorite band. In songs like Homecoming and American Eulogy it's fine when they get little singing parts, but that's it. I wouldn't like them to sing full songs, it wouldn't be the Green Day I love anymore. Because one, two, tre sounds kinda weird? they could have made it in Italian cause then it would be even grammatically right (except of the ' for sure)

whatserbmae
Billie is the lead singer. That's not going to change. It's always great when Mike and Tre are doing vocals on a few songs or parts of songs, and I'm hoping they will this time as well, but their own albums? Not going to happen. And I wouldn't want it to happen, Billie's voice is such a big part of why I like Green Day as much as I do. Also, I really don't get people doubting the albums and worrying that they won't be great. It's Green Day, goddamnit! They wouldn't release 3 albums if they weren't ALL going to be nothing less than AWESOME.
farley drexel hatcher
The whole kerfuffle over the names is ridiculous. This is the most fun they've had with an album title in years, it's classic green day! And sure, some people might think 'quality over quantity', but billie said himself a few years ago they could never go back to the usual way of putting out albums. I think people need to just relax and not over think it, just have fun with it!

Bam-Itz-GreenDay
I have never been a fan of any artists when albums were waiting to be released. (I had just become a really intense Green Day fan right after 21CB was released) I am having this feeling of excitment and nervousness. Do you feel this before ever Green Day album release? I am nervous about the songs and the sound, but hey, their Green Day so there is nothing to worry about, right?
farley drexel hatcher
They've already confirmed the third album 'won't be a solo effort by tre'. Honestly some people are idiots.
Pumba
Can everyone just chill the fuck out? We love Green Day. I think we should support them and if we belive that the albums will be great, then they will be frickin' great. Awesome. Genius. Be happy about it guys :D
solongfromthestars
Am I the only one who thinks the third album isn't even a reference to Tre?
