I know that driving and texting is wrong but I'm on my way to Oakland from Sacramento, no idea what's gonna happen when I get there but wish me luck !!!!!!

I was thinking about you if you got to go- didnt have time before i ran out of the house to get on GDA- I'm so glad you got to go!!! Me Too!

Ahh I found out about the show 30 minutes before it started, and I live 30 minutes away! I almost convinced my dad to buy 2 tickets on stub hub, right in front of the stage, but he said no :(

He said if I had known about it 10 minutes earlier, he would have taken me

Sorry. i got those 2 Stubhub tix by the stage. :) it was awesome.Wish you could have gone!

I don't dislike Jason at all, but Green Day as a three piece? Wow! :woot: How long has it been since they've last done that?

At Bart on my way home. They played an hour, hit songs, Burn Out, no Jason, no bearded Billie Joe, clean shaven and videos coming.

Billie shaved? FINALLY! :D awful beard's gone.

ahahahahahahahaha

the lady and man up the front are the best contrast

lololololol.

seriously though, how can you have such a blank expression when first row at any gig? He has no expression whatsoever

wow..what a huge surprise...and a good bday present for tre i think ^^

i hope they got this feeling again, what it is like to play in front of 20.000 people, so they want to go on world tour again very soon :D

but so sad they didnt play their very new songs, but i can understand this..if they would've played them everyone would have filmed it

This is perfect! Billie with no beard, no entourage or backing band and the best old songs! The only thing not right was that I wasn't there! Haha!

3 piece Green Day? :o :o :o This and the fact that their oldest songs they played is 7 years old, make it an amazing show!

The videos look great too, Billie's voice sounds better than ever!

I just got home from the show! It was awesome. It was a fantastic Friday night, not expecting to be at a Green Day show tonight.

I was home checking twitter and saw that LIvenation tweeted about the show tonight at the arena. It was about 5:30. Well show was starting at 6:00 and the tickets for this concert went on sale back in November, so I didn't think there would be many left at the box office. I live an hour away from Oakland but my hubby said let's go! So we get in the car about 6:00 and with traffic I got down there about 7:15. So we pay $35.00 to park in the lot and go directly to the box office to buy tickets. There were some people who were trying to sell their own tickets, because they didn't want to see the show since Jane's Addiction wasn't playing. We got to the window andthe show was not sold out. Paid $59.00 for each ticket.

She gives me Sec 127 row 2 which is side stage. We get to our seats and we are like 10 feet from the stage. It was also in the VIP area by backstage so we could see all the stuff going on for the show.

I get there and Bush is playing, so we waited through that and the other 2 acts. First I see Billie Joe's sisters Anna and Hollie walk by to go to there seats 2 sections away from us. While we are sitting watching the show waiting for Green Day, my husband looks next to him and sees Tre is standing there 3 feet from us drinking a beer and watching Mumford and Sons. Our seats were elevated next to the walkway going to backstage.

Green Day is about ready to come on and Joey and Stevey and Joey's cousin Andrew come out with some of their friends and stand in front of us. I see Adie, her sister Natalie and Jakob walk out and stand against the rail/wall in front of us. Mike's wife Brittany was sitting in a chair at the edge of the stage behind some speakers. She was goofing around while they were setting up the stage for Green Day.

Green Day come on stage and it was awesome! They played and then Bille Joe talked with audience about how they didn't know 6 hours ago they would be playing tonight. He had a tshirt that said OAKLAND on it and talked about home being in Oakland.

When he came to my side of the stage he stuck his tongue out at Adie and looked at us and smiled.

Billie Joe was fantastic as always and having alot of fun with the audience. It was not a Green Day crowd, so not everyone knew the songs, but those there seemed to be into it.

They weren't on long enough, but it was still great!! No encore, just ended with American Idiot and they said good night.

That picture that Adie posted on twitter, I was just to the left of that. The seats were great!

Florence from Florence and the Machine was standing next to us all through the show and rocking out! When Billie Joe called her name she started jumping up and down and then ran over to the stage and jumped up there while Bille Joe said something about how great a singer she is and dedicated Burnout to her. She came back over and just started rocking out again.

Once again, never imagined when I woke up this morning that I would see Green Day today. How anticlimactic will it be when they go on tour and I buy tix and have to wait months to see them? Anyway, I was at home in Sacramento, at about 530 getting all spiffy and sparkly to go to my company's fancy Xmas party tonight, when my 15 year old daughter look sup from her Ipad at me, with a really weird look on her face. When I asked her what was the problem, she wouldnt tell me, saying I would freak out. Then she read the post off Facebook, that local heros will be saving the day from cancelled show....yeah, she was right I freaked out.Totally blew off my work party. I immediately texted Saint_OfAll Sinners, who lives even an hour and a half past my house that we had to go. I jumped on Stubhub and got two tickets for $19 each!!! Sweet! They were section 127, last row. Fortunately some people up further left early and we sat in their seats, right up against the railing that overlooks backstage, int he very first row that comes to a V- about 10 rows from the stage. She took only 1 hour to get ot my house, and we flew to Oakland. We had to go to tha Comfort Inn across the street from the Coliseum to pick up the tix, but it went thru so easily. I am kind of convinced that everything I touch having to do with Green Day is lucky. We got ther right in the middle of Mumford- I really wanted to see them, and they were AWESOME. Will definitely go see them text time around. Anyway, we could watch the flurry backstage, watched Adrienne and all the Emily's Army boys come in (didn't they have a show tonight? They must have beent he first act....) She was getting them all waters. Anyway, saw when the boys climbed the stairs to the stage, shouted Happy birthday to Tre (even though he didn't hear us) We were close enough to see their faces, their expressions, everything. It was a great show (thank you so much Mozzabillie for taping!!!! We are actually in your vids right at the bottom of the right video screen! Yay!) I got most of the setlist down:

Opened Welcome to Paradise

2000 Lightyears away. (swoon!)

Hitchin' a Ride (my first time hearing it live!! It was awesome!)

Nice guys finish last

Burnout

Brain Stew

Longview

Basket Case

She

Going to Pasalacqua <3

When I come around

American Idiot.

They also played Iron Man, some AC/DC and the "lonely, lonely, lonely" song....it was great. I may have missed one or two songs.

I was really hoping for Carpe Diem or any of the new songs, but for a non-core audience, they stuck mostly with hits and a few oldies. It still rocked, I got some good eye contact with Tre, and after the show I hung over the railing and said hi to Adrienne. It was funny, seing her take the picture and then have my pocket buzz witht he tweet...I felt a little stalkerish, lol. The hug with Florence was really sweet, she seemed quite touched, and it was fun singing to Tre. Now I can't just say "The Oakland Show" this is the Big Oakland show and 1234Go was the Little Oakland Show. They seemed to really be relishing the show though, having a really good time, didnt seem like a high-pressure performance. They were just three guys playing music for some people, it was showier than the little shows, but no pyrotechnncs or elaborate lighting. . oh and the THREE made me kind of sad, I really wanted to see Jason. (Much love to you J you were missed)Billie said at the end of the show they only knew they would be on stage 6 hours ago. It is 3 am and I am raving, have been up since 430 am, must sleep bye.
