aw thats really nice and I like how he didn't 'steal the show' by the sound of it. Must be weird for him though just standing and playing guitar!

I think it's super cool that he stepped in and played guitar w/ EA, and that he made sure to be unobtrusive / not stealing the show. Hahah and I agree that his hair is super fluffy and his sweater is cute (but sorta out of place!)

I also like that Nat (Adie's sister), who was at the show taking pix, tweeted "I have to say watching EA tonight with Joey's dad on the guitar was priceless. Lots of fun! a special night." I love that she said "Joey's dad" instead of "Billie Joe" or something like that. So casual. :)

Throughout the whole entire show, Billie sort of just looked down at the stage the whole entire time.

ohmygodohmygodohmygod

I fucking love him, I love the fucker through and through, oh my God.

How great is this?? And haha, I absolutely LOVE the sweater. Super rock star and dad all in one scruffy package. :D

Thanks so much for sharing those photos!!

That is so cool. He must have been bored though, considering that fact he normally runs around during shows getting the crowd all pumped and stuff.

And that sweater. Looks like Adie let him dress himself.

you never quite know what billie is gonna put on when he dresses himself.

So last night was the Emily's Army show. I had talked earlier with my roommate about how I thought the secret guitarist was going to be Billie Joe Armstrong, but I was thinking that was probably impossible. It wasn't going to happen. But when I got there, I saw Jakob and kind of had to wonder. While talking to Stevie, apparently Billie Joe walked right by me and I didn't know it. My friends told me he was there and it was him, but I didn't believe him. When Emily's Army did take the stage, they started with a blackout, then the band came on.

That's when Billie Joe came on.

I was really impressed by how he just stood in the background. But he did seem like he was having a good time playing with his son, which was pretty awesome. He didn't look at the audience, but he did look up once and that was it. The crowd was focused on the rest of the band.

I know I couldn't keep my eyes off Joey, cause he was making the most awesomeness expressions! The crowd was crazy! I was in the middle of the front of the stage in the beginning of it and was almost falling into Cole. I fell down once. Then I happened to stand in the corner with this lady and Bill Shneider, who was sitting down. At times I thought I was going to fall over. If I fell over, I would've fallen right into Billie Joe. It was a crazy night. I can't believe I got to see Billie Joe. I know it wasn't just about him, but this was my ninth EA show. And it's been my dream to sort of be in the front of the stage at a Green Day show. I got 1/3 of my dream. Unfortunately, I didn't get a photo with Billie Joe, but whatever. I have my memories. If I did get a photo, I would've cried like a baby. You don't know how much this dude means to me.

So that's my story. At least the show part. Because I got to talk to Max and Cole, which was awesome. I got one of Joey's drumsticks. I was also amazed that it didn't start at 7 exactly. It started around 7:40. I was happy that even though I was late, I was able to see the whole show. And I was with Sandra, the one who posted on GDA, the whole night, which was cool.

Or, on occasion, nothing but a guitar.

Yes, but then we all have to see his jiggly ass and none of us want that?

Anyone else notice Joey's hair is the same style as his dad's? I think it's pretty awesome that he and his pop got to play a show together.

It's the same color, yes, but they both wear it differently.

I was about to ask if it was hot in there because the place might not have been packed like the Green Day secret show, but looking at the pictures, it looks like the band was really sweating. (Maybe Billie Joe should have taken his sweater off.) I have been having a virus and laryngitis so I made myself stay home last night even though I live two miles away from the record store. (I drove all the way to Petaluma last week for the show!) I figured that the heat in the room, coupled with the cool night air, would have caused more harm. Part of me regrets missing it but the intelligent side of me tells me I made the right decision for me and probably for every there if it is contagious. Thank you for the pictures and I wish I could have been there to take videos.

Oh, it was packed alright. People were falling onto the stage and almost falling into the band members. Cole even said his tooth was almost chipped from a mic almost falling on him. And no problem. I tried really hard to get at least one or two good pictures of each of the band members.

When I saw the post about the guest guitarist on Emily's Army's twitter I was kinda joking in my head that they would get Billie but put Duct tape over his mouth or something to stop him taking over. So amazed to find out my day dream was actually true. Wish I lived nearby I totally would have gone to the show.

Thank you for the videos! I see that Billie Joe did eventually take the sweater off. It REALLY looked hot in there. It is a good thing that I didn't go.
