farley drexel hatcher
Wow, yeah ... they are not real signatures at all. Almost certainly 'painted' on. You can tell in the last photo because it just doesn't look right, given the angle.
Daughter.of.Rage.and.Love
You're 100% correct. All three have, indeed, been poorly 'signed' with Microsoft Paint and/or PhotoShop. Another lie to add to the list: Dawn stating time and time again that 'Just like Billie Joe, I'm not a computer person!' Obviously if she knows how to use Paint and PhotoShop to create photo manipulations, she can't be that far in the dark. Using Paint is like the easiest thing ever though, and looking at the way she posted things anywhere (both on GDC and on Amazon and Ebay etc) with everything in all caps, and the way the website looked, makes me suspect she really isn't a computer person. Also, saying you aren't a computer person isn't exactly a big lie, or matters here... With the items sold, there's definitely something fishy. At the same time, i personally saw Dawn handing out those items as displayed on the mannequin for free to people in New York. People tried to offer her money and she refused to accept it. I saw that with my own eyes. I'm not here to defend Dawn entirely, because there is a lot wrong here, but i'd like to add some perspective. This, and the fact that she really gave tickets to people wanting to go to the Dallas show. I agree with the last line too.
Fuzz
Mallory, in fairness, you called BS on this from pretty much the beginning. And we also know that there have been people who ordered stuff (at least early on) who got their items. We never received any kind of complaints on GDA when we actually promoted the charity stuff 6 months ago. As I also said multiple times, we're not trying to defend dawn, but I also don't believe this entire thing was some kind of scam. We know for a fact that some people got their stuff. And in this thread, we also haven't heard from that many people (only a couple that I know of) that were actually screwed over in some way. And like I said over and over, those are the people we should be concerned about.

Because I honestly believe the reason behind so many people not receiving their items has something to do with the double listings (Not being scammed. Although I do believe quite a bit of it to have been a scam). If 2 people won on seperate sites, it would stand to reason that unless she had multiple copies of each item, that someone wouldn't be receiving something. So I'm curious to hear who bought what, and from where.

But at this point I also can't assume that tons of people didn't get the stuff they ordered because we haven't seen proof of that. Obviously there are some people who have issues with the stuff they bought, but this is pretty serious, and I just want people to know the facts. Does anyone actually know how many people were screwed over on stuff they bought? Cause I've only heard from two. And like I said early on, there may be many more that we don't know about, but I don't think it's right to speculate without knowing.

Still, though, the fact stands that she stated she made the items herself when she most certainly did not ... It's nigh impossible.
farley drexel hatcher
Putting up items which are blatantly fake - signatures made with ms paint - is deliberately trying to deceive people. There's no way anyone can explain their way out of that one. That's not even stealing others photos, that's manipulating them with the intent to sell an item that doesn't exist. She's more clued up than people are allowing. I'm not attacking the woman and I don't want people to think I am, but fans could easily have been swindled out of hundreds of dollars, and that's just not right. I'd feel wrong about doing that, because these people didn't ask for what they said to be posted around on a Green Day forum. They just asked for their items. I feel like a simple search (For those who do have Facebook) would find it. But as far as posting someone else's complaint somewhere they didn't complain- I'd feel awkward. The only thing I'd be willing to do is leave them a link to this thread and tell them if they had anything to add, to feel free to join in the conversation. Mommy's Little Nightmare
GDATW Facebook There's a few comments from people who haven't received items, as well as comments about unreceived posts on Kat's updates. And I would like to clarify that Kat is doing her best to try to figure everything out. She's having as much trouble getting in touch with Dawn as Tony is, and until the items she's supposed to ship out get shipped to her- there's nothing she can do. Mommy's Little Nightmare
It's a closed group. Why don't you sum up the things that seemed to have gone missing I don't know what people did or didn't receive. They never specifically said what they didn't receive. Basically, they were told that if they hadn't received their items yet, to PM Kat, so Kat could get their addresses to Dawn. That part was all done via PM. And then there were posts about still having not received anything, and Kat updating everyone that she had yet to get ahold of Dawn. For anyone who doesn't know, Dawn told Kat she was going to ship her the items, so that KAT could mail them out while Dawn is sick. Kat's been waiting and waiting for the items to be shipped to her as well. The posts are mostly just people asking what's going on, and when they'll receive the items. The thing is though, even though a lot of people got their stuff they were buying it thinking they'd be helping a charity by doing so. The fact she's sold legit stuff only shows she had some good intentions if she actually donated money to charity from it. I seem to remember when people asked her about how much was going to charity she got annoyed and never gave a proper answer. Is there any kind of proof that she's donated any money to the NRDC? Although obviously there's no proof that she hasn't either. I suppose if she's the only one who knows then there's not much anyone can do.

I haven't seen proof, but i remember her trying to tell Adrienne and Billie on twitter that she'd made a sizeable donation to NRDC. Again, i do believe she did. At the same time, i don't think all proceeds have gone directly to charity, but i think this is likely down to mismanagement as much as anything else. Dawn was saying she was having trouble setting up charitable accounts on eBay, for whatever reason.
Marian
I contacted NRDC and they do not release non-public donor information. However, donors do receive proof of donation, so I would be interested to see that from Dawn.
Fuzz
After everything that's been said in the last two pages, it still remains the fact that people should file a claim with Amazon or eBay if they haven't received their items, and if that has failed, they should get in touch with the police department. And that was my point early on, we can play "GDC law firm" all day, but it doesn't really change the fact that there's a very limited amount we can do without hearing from Dawn or without any of us actually being affected directly. I don't know, I think if you're gonna sell stuff to donate some of the proceeds to charity you should be in a position to explain and/or prove how much you're donating. Like you say the reason that didn't happen could easily be simply down to management/organisation problems. But I do find it a bit strange that she never seemed to post "We've raised $_____ for the NRDC" or anything like that. It's just a shame there isn't really a way to find out for sure unless she offers some proof herself.
