Issues were brought forward to us about the Green Day Across The World charity event, so we hope to address them as best we can. I do want to clarify right away that GDA had very limited involvement with this, aside from promoting the event itself (the May 28th clean-up) and the NYC meet-up. We didn't actually have any role with any of the donation requests or selling any items for charity for this. We saw it as a really cool idea to engage fans and do some good in communities around the world, and that's why we decided to promote it. Over the last few months, concerns have been raised about some of the items that were listed for sale by "Green Day Across The World" on Amazon or eBay. Some people were promised prizes from the May 28th clean-up that hadn't arrived and others placed ordered never delivered. We do know that some people got the items they were expecting, but it is impossible for us to know with certainty all the details surrounding this because we didn't have direct involvement. We've tried reaching out to Dawn to get answers, as others have done as well. These have not proven successful, so we've decided to close the original GDATW threads so that people are no longer directed toward any of the charity links or sales (though my understanding is that some have already been removed). There are honest concerns people have, and the lack of communication has been unhelpful. We simply don't have the answers, because none of us knew enough of what was going on to actually know. If anyone placed an order through Amazon or eBay and didn't receive their items, please get in touch with us (you can email me directly, andres@greendayauthority.com). We can't make promises about getting your items or money back, but we do want to try and gain a better understanding of the whole situation, and help our users as best we can. It's hard for us to really make sense of the entire thing because this was organized completely outside of GDA's involvement, but we do want to make sure we're looking after Green Day fans after so many pulled together to make this event happen. No one deserves to be kept in the dark, expecially when they were promised something. It's really nice of you guys do be doing this even though you had very little involvment in it. But one thing I still haven´t got.. I bought the signed Look for Love from her and she wanted to send me the CoA from it afterwards. I got LFL but didn´t got the CoA yet. Dawn also offered me to sent my T-shirt + a poster (selfmade) of me and BJ on stage to her. She wanted to let it signed in NY while she had been there because of AI . Of course I shipped it to her but I still haven´t got it back.. she said a couple times she will ship it soon and so on but it never happened. This whole thing feels very weird. That is the best suggestion for now. If people ordered something through Amazon, they can contact their support and try to refund the order or just make the complaint. The same can be done through eBay/Paypal within a certain amount of time since the order. I know Dawn has mentioned that she was ill and even mentioned before that she was in the hospital at some point. That's why I'm wanting to be cautious about this and really try to get as many facts as we can before drawing a conclusion. The issues as it stands right now though, is that there are some people who havent got items in nearly 2 months and haven't gotten any replies. I was very relieved, actually, to read that GreenDayChris received the copy of Look for Love, as I remember that being one of the higher priced items sold at the height of the "charity" sale. Not exactly pocket change to lose. Hope you eventually get your t-shirt and poster back, but I wouldn't hold your breath. Her son also once made the stuff with GDATW because Dawn was in hospital so long. He wanted to ship all the stuff I still get to me but actually he didn't. Really strange.. Idk where Dawn is at the moment and how she feels.. It also suprised me that she didn't went to the suprise gig in Austin since Austin is only one and a half hour away from her. Seems like she could have easily attached any photos of him signing it to an email and gotten those to you right away. I also never doubt it but these kind of things would just be a cool addition to an great vinyl. She said she have to look threw thousands of pics to find the one from LFL.. I asked her a couple of times if she could finally send me them but it never happened. Idk whats wrong but there must be something big. I also noticed shes very forgettable.. Because if this were to happen to anyone else, the respective online purchasing companies would deal with the matter directly. But it's good to know there is another source (GDA) that can help too. Hopefully the issues can be resolved soon. I think every account Dawn made in eBay (and she made a lot!) was shut down by eBay because she sold it as charity and so on.. there were some troubles. I do have some thoughts about this, but they are probably considered gossip so I will put them in a spoiler. I am not pulling conclusions because I know she's allegedly been very ill (saying "allegedly" only because there is no concrete proof, not because I have grounded doubts about it), but I've noticed it and I'm wondering whether I'm being unnecessarily and overly suspicious. I am not pulling conclusions, but there are several fishy things about Dawn. First of all the never sent or arrived packages, also the fact that she has never said anything about having donated to NRDC and the fact that she was very active at first and when it was over it suddenly came to a halt (due to her being ill, which I don't doubt isn't true (double negative --> I think she was in fact ill), but the timing was unfortunate). Also, the fact that she needed a lot of money to get GDATW registered as a charity and her having the time to set up all that, but never having the time to update us on what happened on GDATW and how much money was raised and all that. Then lastly that on GDC she has told a story that she was serving as a military doctor (excuse the wrong name) in Iraq or something like that and was injured because of an IED, whereas in the article about her flight accident it mentioned that she worked as a military dentist in San Antonio and ended in a wheelchair because of a fall. And the fact that she also lied to the flight company, but that has got nothing to do with GDC. Again, I'd like to make it very clear that I am not pulling any conclusions and I am definitely not trying to put Dawn in a bad light or spread rumours behind her back. I do not mean to gossip. These are just things I've noticed, but for all I know I'm seeing things that aren't there and I see the story in a distorted way. I'd like to conclude with saying that I hope I'm wrong and Dawn just got a bit disorganized and that's the reason of all of this, because the idea of GDATW was a wonderful initiative. gloria123 Posted November 20, 2011 Share Posted November 20, 2011 i ordered one of the thing from amazon, i didn't pay a ton but it was $20 that i would like to have if i'm not getting anything. one of my problems with it is that at this point (i ordered it 2 months ago) if she knows she can't send things out send an email and tell people and refund them or just have a friend or family member send the stuff out.
