Wobbie Posted November 15, 2011 Posted November 15, 2011 Every year I get my hopes up and get let down. I've been to the past 10 Leeds festivals and was lucky enough to see them play there in 2004 and it was awesome but it was before they truly came into their own as a live band. If they play next year it will be the best performance to ever happen at those festivals. Here's hoping anyway!
koolkev Posted November 15, 2011 Posted November 15, 2011 It's definitely true, Mike told me. Um.... Mike told you?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
DoodleBob Posted November 16, 2011 Posted November 16, 2011 Yes. And, do you by any chance have a recording?
farley drexel hatcher Posted November 16, 2011 Posted November 16, 2011 lol I can't believe how many people fell for that.
DoodleBob Posted November 16, 2011 Posted November 16, 2011 lol I can't believe how many people fell for that. Right? You'd think they would learn.
oda Posted November 17, 2011 Posted November 17, 2011 It's bad that Adeline linked to it when it's still just a rumour. did they delete their post? and yeah i thought about that too.
Wobbie Posted November 17, 2011 Posted November 17, 2011 The Prodigy are headlining Download which means at least one third of that rumour is not true. Lets just hope the rest is.
-Karen- Posted November 17, 2011 Posted November 17, 2011 Green day and foo fighters damn its all the way across the country
Hermione Posted November 17, 2011 Posted November 17, 2011 Green day and foo fighters damn its all the way across the country It's actually all the way in England. But don't worry it's not gonna happen anyway, it's just a rumour.
Undómiel Posted November 17, 2011 Posted November 17, 2011 Um.... Mike told you?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! He's joking?!?!?!?!?!?!
DecanoLP Posted November 25, 2011 Posted November 25, 2011 Let's get this topic back up again: http://www.greendayauthority.com/news/2823/ Well, I tried to read the article since Dutch is similiar to German, but I think it doesn't even talk about Green Day... They are just listed as "also possible headliners"... In general, we can't trust this article too much in my opinion. Linkin Park are listed in the same category as Green Day and I'm 99% sure they won't be touring next summer. Same for Muse...
Red Lights Flash Posted November 25, 2011 Posted November 25, 2011 I can read dutch, and this isn't a rumor with a source, just speculation. Green day isn't even listed under "probably", but under "might be possible" (as in: there's not really a reason to think so; but it's possible).I recommend updating the GDA post to make it clear that this is not a reliable source at all.EDIT: By the way, I was talking about Pinkpop, not Reading/Leeds.
WorryRock02 Posted November 25, 2011 Posted November 25, 2011 would be amazing..but..i thonk taht we'll not have green day on tour next summer :-/
valeria carci Posted November 25, 2011 Posted November 25, 2011 any rumor of gd playing live is a good rumor let's hope not to get dissapointed...
Tre_Gina Posted November 30, 2011 Posted November 30, 2011 so I heard something interesting this morning..... a very strong rumour that Green Day will be at Reading and Leeds next year. The words were "these things can fall through but the plan is for Green Day to be there" it came from somebody in the know. I always go to Reading anyway and will be getting my ticket in the presale Friday Please don't kill me if it's wrong though...

greendaytodeathandback Posted November 30, 2011 Posted November 30, 2011 would be amazing..but..i thonk taht we'll not have green day on tour next summer :-/ Yeah unfortunately I feel the same. And I really worked myself up earlier this year telling myself there was a possibility of them playing next summer
greendaytone Posted November 30, 2011 Posted November 30, 2011 I feel like they are going to do this next year.
farley drexel hatcher Posted November 30, 2011 Posted November 30, 2011 Could this be what kerrang's 'amazing news' might be?
Daughter.of.Rage.and.Love Posted November 30, 2011 Posted November 30, 2011 If the Reading/Leeds thing is true that means the chances of Pinkpop being true are bigger and that means I'm gonna be mighty pissed off because Pinkpop is in the middle of my exams (whatever they're called, the things that basically determine whether you graduate high school or not) so I can't possibly go. And Green Day playing here while I can't go is just urghhhhh.
greendaytone Posted November 30, 2011 Posted November 30, 2011 Could this be what kerrang's 'amazing news' might be? I think so. They recently broke the news that Metallica were playing Download. Maybe they have this scoop?
Heather. Posted November 30, 2011 Posted November 30, 2011 Does playing in a festival very very likely indicate that they would be releasing an album shortly after or around that time? I know they did Reading right before AI came out... have they ever played festivals and NOT put something out when they do it? (Like 2006-2008?)
Tre_Gina Posted November 30, 2011 Posted November 30, 2011 I don;t think Kerrang would be allowed to announce this, surely the big thing about Reading/Leeds is annoucing the whole line up on the day the tickets go on sale? After hearing my bit of news I am very optimistic they will play...HINT HINT
