One of my favorite songs, especially live. "That was better than fucking, and I like fucking!" -Billie Joe after playing Minority at the concert I went to :D Definitely a staple in their live show.

I have two favourite Green Day songs, Hitchin' A Ride and this

This song is part of the reason of why I, no pun intended, pledged my alegiance to Green Day.

I was at that awkward teenage stage when I heard this song for the first time, and I felt a deep connection with this band who were telling me it was ok to be different :)

Yeaahhh finally!!! This song is one of my favorites from Warning. And the first line "I want to be the minority" is one of the greatest messages I got from their songs, it gives me that impulse to want to be different in a good way that is not easy to get. I love when Billie plays the harmonica! (especially on BIAB, my favorite part of the song).

And the video is great too, at the end when they start to destroy everything and Mike throws something at Billie that makes him fall  And the fake baloons

Good choice!

A face in the crowd

Unsung, against the mould

Without a doubt

Singled out

The only way I know

To me it's like what Green Day is about. What i am about. What all this shit is about!

A Free For All!

So he was bored for the first two hours and enjoyed the last 30 minutes?

Hahahaha! I honestly don't know since I was watching the show rather than him. I doubt he was bored though. But when Minority started I could actually feel him being really happy. I don't know how else to explain how that song affected him.

Aside from the obvious powerful meaning of the lyrics, the sound and the music is very impressive. The acoustic guitar intro reminds me of that used by Weezer with their song My Name Is Jonas, a nice guitar melody before the loud guitar/drums/bass kicks in. Its a catchy and repetitive melody, but it doesn't get boring. I like how the first verse is quiet enough, letting the listener fully appreciate what Billie is singing about.

A song about standing out from the crowd and being an individual, that makes you want to grab the nearest person to you and start dancing with them. The irony is not lost on me!

This is song us definitely in my top 5. I love the message of my song. It taught me some of the things I live my life by. Being a minority is cool!!

Yes! I love this song! It really showed me how to be mine self in a time when I was just trying to fit in with what everyone else was doing so I'm really grateful for this song.

A great song with a great video and very awesome live. It is just one of my favourites and just an anthem for those who dare to be different and not conform to the mainstream.

Good choice!

This song was always my favorite song off Waning until Jackass took over a few months ago. This song's sound is unique to any other GD song, and I really feel it's special in a way. It was so big when released (I was less than one year old :D ), and I feel it was a very big song that attracted a lot of people to GD, and gave them a lot of new fans. Even though Warning is still thought of as the sort of "Oddball" album, Minority has taken it's rightful place in Green Day history, and is a very attractive song with more meaning deep within, if you really examine it.

Great song

it's definitely one of my favorite Green Day songs! The line that always encourages me is:

"A free for all, Fuck them all, You're your own sight"

Although, and I think Cometbus points this out in #54, it is slightly ironic to have 15,000 Green Day fans yelling out "I want to be a minority!"....

Great song though. :)

I don't know what I can say that hasn't already been said. And I find that ironic....

I really do love this song, tho :P

Someone should come in here and say they don't like Minority, then they'd truly be the minority!

One of my favourites live. I always forget about this song when Im at a Green Day concert, then he pulls that face and strums the opening notes and everyone erupts. Then theres the harmonica and the confetti cannons!

On that subject, I HAVE to post this video. That's me coming out of the crowd at 49 seconds -

I'm so happy, that this song is the song of the week! :) I love it, it's my all time favorite Green Day song. Minority taught me so much, it taught me that it's okay to be different. And I'm sure that I'm not the only one :) There's so much energy in the song, it makes me happy when I here it and I'm just grateful that Billie, Mike and Tre wrote this wonderful song!

I love this song, it means a whole lot to me. The lyrics are amazing and just the whole concept of the song (or at least the way I interpreted it), just being your self no matter what the majority of people think, weather they think the same or differently then you do, just be you and fuck 'em all. The video is really cool, and I like the end when they are destroying the parade float :) It was the first Green Day music video that I showed my younger brother when I first got into the band. When I saw them live in August of 2010, it was amazing, it was a crazy moment, and it was so fun to just watch the band have fun and such a good time perfoming it. Whenever I watch Bullet In A Bible, the speech Billie Joe gives during the break in the song is really awesome, "We're the fucking leaders, we have the fucking power, don't let those bastards dictate your life.", and the harmonica solo is really cool when you listen to it. All in all, this song is amazing and I love every bit of it, one of my most favorite Green Day songs and my favorite off of Warning :)

My favourite part of this live is the confetti cannons going off. It reminds me of the sound and the smell of the cannons

One of the most visually stunning videos from the Marlay Park, Dublin gig is this one during Minority. At some point you just stop and think "WOW!"

I never got to see the big fireworks properly. I shouldn't complain, but still

Now for the close-up shot!
