Tracking down some details for this, I found the casting call for the first two eps of the new season of the show, which includes this character:

"[JOHN] (Male, 45) He is a badass, has a tattoo that says No Regrets and is a drug user who meets Jackie one night. He is chasing after that ultimate high. Has kids and a wife who don't talk to him anymore. GUEST STAR-NAMES ONLY."

This fits with the info of him playing an oxycontin addict.

Badass? Tatoo? Sounds like BJ.

So everyone's speculating about the thing on his hand. Stamp or tattoo. Could be either, I mean, we don't really know. But here's a thought. Maybe it's a faux tattoo for the character he's playing? Something that means something to his oxycontin addicted character?

Well then 'No Regrets' was written on his hand already.

That would make loads of sense, since it looks like the first word is "no" and apparently a (his?) character has a tattoo with "no regrets".

edit: wow, I'm late to the party

I'm gonna be staring at the No Regrets tattoo, and be giggling and singing Whatsername. Damnit.

...the regrets are useless in my mind, she's in my head, I must confess.

Another acting experience, it seems that he likes the TV shows world

The character description seems interesting, it'd fit with him :D and yeah, no regrets would be a great new tattoo, since it could be related to some Green Day songs...

"To reminisce is to die, no regrets!" That sounds good :P

That's definitely a brilliant way (thogeter with those secret shows) to fill the time between two GD albums :ninja:

^It's not an actual tattoo, it's for the part.

That's why I wrote would be a great new tattoo, but maybe my comment is not so clear :ermm::happy:

I'm just speculating here, but I think Billie probably likes the show. And since Rebecca and Theo have had guest spots on it, maybe he talked to Theo and Theo told him it was fun to do, and Billie was all "What the hell? I'll do it." But my guess is that it definitely has something to do with Theo, because those 2 are tight.

You never know, maybe he will like the idea and actually tattoo that somewhere

I think so yeah. Seems he knows people involved with the show too. And it really does seem like he's testing the waters with a st jimmy type character, which is pretty smart if that's the case.

I definitely agree. Because the last time he did a TV show, it was Haunted, and that was because Matthew Fox is his friend. NOW, especially with him having expressed interest in playing St. Jimmy, and knowing people involved with the show, and a couple Idiot cast who've had guest spots, it does seem like a distinct possibility. Especially with him always saying "Oh, I'm not an actor."

I think he's seeing how well he can do it, if it's something he feels he's up to do for a movie part, and if he's capable of it. Because Broadway was a whole different animal. He acted a little, but mostly it was choreography, singing, etc. And this will involve him delving alot deeper into his emotions and showing them in a believable manner. Either way, I think the Nurse Jackie episode will be fun to watch. I know I'm certainly looking forward to Tiny Man on my TV.

What is Nurse Jackie anyway? Is it a comedy type of series, or more serious?

Well...this should be quite interesting to see

I've never heard of "Nurse Jackie"...it sounds interesting enough, though.

It's kind of a dark comedy. Like with everything, it has serious moments and deals with serious issues. But it does it in a comedic way. Of course there's poignant emotional moments, but for the most part, it's funny.
