Billie Joe Kicked off plane for having pants low

Billie's being painted as the villain. People are getting on him for being high and mighty, and for wearing saggy pants. Sigh.

Why do you think this is such big news? Anything to make a celebrity into a bad guy. And like I said before, the one 'source' for what happened other than billie was joking about it on her twitter, and didn't seem to care till she found out who it was.

Clearly, you have not seen some of these people. I'm talking a 275-lb. woman in a tube top so tight that her breasts are literally hanging out of the thing, and she's one bump away from a massive wardrobe malfunction. I have been on a flight where a man who clearly had not showered in days and was wearing a shirt with all kinds of holes in it was allowed to travel, and the ENTIRE coach cabin reeked of him the whole flight. There's a fine line between wearing something comfortable and wearing something totally inappropriate for airline travel. Hell, I fly in a t-shirt and jeans, period, even when I get upgraded to first. Like I said, there's nothing wrong with saggy pants; as long as all parts of you that should be covered (including your midsection) are covered while on board, I could not care less if your pants are saggy.

Maybe I'm old-fashioned in this regard, but I think there needs to be some level of respect for your fellow passengers when you decide what to wear on the plane. No one wants to see your 50-year-old, sagging breasts hanging out the bottom of your cutoff shirt the whole flight, so don't fucking wear it. Likewise, trust me when I say that none of us frequent fliers want to see the lower third of your back exposed on a plane anyway (and how is that even comfortable?!), but we especially don't want to see it if you have a hairy mole the size of a golf ball, if you fall into the group of people where the "must buy an additional seat" rule applies, or if you're a dude with a lower back tattoo.

Ok, maybe exceptions can be made for the third one, because the one time I was lucky enough to see a guy with an exposed lower back tattoo on the airplane, I couldn't quite stop laughing for the entire flight.

And again, it doesn't sound like Billie Joe was kicked off for having saggy pants. It sounds like he was kicked off for f-bombing a flight attendant when she told him to pull them up. Like I said, they do not play around with that shit.

Trust me I've seen plenty, and it does not bother me because it is their own personal choice to wear whatever the fuck they want. People who are overweight do not have separate rules for indecent exposure. They aren't and shouldn't be required to cover themselves up just because people like you actually think your feelings should be taken into consideration when they get dressed in the morning. If a man doesn't have great personal hygiene and his clothes are in rags, it's probably safe to say he isn't doing well financially. You don't know his story and you shouldn't be ignorant enough to assume that he's dressing that way out of choice, for all you know it could have been his last shirt.

You are old-fashioned thinking that your mid-section and lower back should be covered, you sound pretty akin to my grandmother to be perfectly honest. Whatever a persons weight is or whatever tacky tattoo they may have, it still does not give you any say in how they should dress. Others appearance has absolutely nothing to do with you and if you get this effected by seeing someone who you don't find attractive's body mildly exposed (which I'm sure no one would be complaining about if they were attractive) then you're the one with the problem, because you should not be this bothered about others appearance. It is nobody's business but their own.

Also he was threatened to get kicked off before he cursed, so clearly his baggy pants were a threat to all onboard.

My parents barely say "Green Day", so I've never heard how they pronouncing it :P

Ok, we're getting definitely OT, let's just quit it xD

A couple people at work just sent me links to articles about this, asking if I'd heard about it. They know I'm a huge Green Day fan otherwise they wouldn't have sent them to me in the first place.

I'm guessing she just didn't want an accidental Longview of his Nimrod.

LMAO!

The Grouch who complained was concerned his sagging pants would cause Dookie to be Scattered all over the plane.

OK, trying too hard :whaa:

fuck, I wish I was on that plane. I would have yanked my trousers down and shuffled to the front of the plane yelling "If Billie gets kicked off then we all do!!" with everyone else shortly following suit. Billie would be so delighted with my triumphant protest and he would then announce our eternal BFF friendship......

I would have been right there with you if I was on that flight as well.

This guy's pants look a little saggy to me...

Just goes to show that this story only got attention because Billie Joe happened to be a rock star...oh, and because there are way better reasons to kick someone off a plane.

Hitting Below the Belt (or lack of)

blogger in Chicago, not too happy with all the press.

LOL that person needs to calm down. And also needs to realize that there's a difference between wearing pants that happen to be a little too loose round the waist, and wearing rapper-style baggy pants as a fashion statement.

I've taken the liberty of making a well thought out sketch of what (we believe) happened, based on various reports.

he f-bombed a flight attendant. That will get you kicked off the plane 100% of the time. I have never, ever seen someone verbally take on a flight attendant and be allowed to fly.

Good analogy would be: Do you really want to mouth off to the cop who's wondering whether he should let you go or write you a speeding ticket? There are federal laws against failure to follow the directions of flight crew members, and the aisle of the aircraft 5 minutes before pushback isn't the time or place to get pissy with them about anything that they ask you to do. Nothing newsworthy (or not) would have happened if Billie had just kept his mouth shut and hiked his pants up an inch.....but then again, Billie yielding to authority just wouldn't be the Billie we know.

Exactly, and the consequence was that he just had to take the next flight. I'd say it was well worth putting up with that minor inconvenience in order to not have to back down over something so stupid when he felt he was in the right.

And this is why I love GDC.

This is becoming more mediatic than it needed to be. Today I heard talking about this "episode" in a portuguese radio station. Anyway, they were joking around something like "Now Billie Joe knows who is his enemy", and for the first time we could listen to "Know Your Enemy" on the radio :D

Edit: oh, and of course, this appears in portuguese newspapers!

Wow thanks to this the tv producer from ABC 7 in San Francisco has her name everywhere, I wonder how she feels about her new fame for being on the flight that Billie was kicked off of, and being a witness to it all.

I'm glad he actually lives what he preaches. "Question everything or shut up and be a victim of authority." ... and what's great is, I don't think it's calculated. It's not like he's thinking "I must resist this if I am to be a true punk," is that he genuinely won't shut up and be a victim of authority. And though most people would rather just shut up, hike up the pants a bit and sit down in a rage rather than stir up more trouble (me), he genuinely doesn't care... which is awesome.
