in_your_face
Well, none would pay a million to see 'em live.
idc
I also see the ticketprice go up to fivehundredthousand dollars because of U2
Sarah.Scumbag
hmm interesting problem is a Metallica concert often cost a lot of money so do a U2 concert and a Green Day concert, How much money wouldn't those tickets cost! and it would probably be in U.S :/ but still pretty cool idea.. I think (in the UK at least) Green Day tickets cost the least at about £35-£40 for indoor shows, U2 & Metallica tickets I can imagine being somewhere from £50-£100 dependant on the venue.. - if this happens, I'm not looking forward to seeing the prices that's for sure! Amanda
Disregarding the U2 element, this would be a total wankfest for Alex. I just had a flashback to when I used to dream about Pink Floyd and Genesis doing a gig together. *smacks lips and can almost taste the bong again*
Disapperingirl
I'm not getting excited...I'd go only to see Green Day, but for sure it would be only in the US
Four.
This would be nice. The tickets would probably be high, but if you're in the pit, they won't be that expensive. Even if it's 100-200 for pit though, I mean... think about it. You're getting three huge bands for a reasonable price, in my opinion.
Amanda
I'd want Hetfield to mow my lawn and Lars to decorate the spare room for that money.
bollard_11
As far as ticket prices go, the Metallica shows I went to last year were cheaper than 2 out 3 Green Day tickets I bought last year, the 3rd Green Day show being the same price as my Metallica tickets . . . . Amanda
There should be enough money left over for Bono to tile the kitchen, then.
Alan86
Maybe if it does happen there could be a show in Ireland cause U2 might want a show in their home too. Clutching at straws already for a show that doesn't even exist
jtdscape
If this were to happen it would be a three day event with each band being the main act for each day. There would be daily tickets and then three day passes you could buy. Having three HUGE bands playing on the same day at the same place just wouldnt work out well. Doesn't he use an iPhone now? Nope he uses a Blackberry...well at least he did in Feburary when Matt and I saw him on stage before the show at the St. James.
colour_me_stupid_
I wonder if this would be a one place type of thing or if they would bring the festival on the road and do multiple stops.....well lets see if this is even real first I'd guess it'd be a once off, I really couldn't see them touring together? To put a nail in someone's coffin means to put them one step closer to death. Billie is saying that if he agrees to do this festival it will put the other two bands one step closer to death - musically as live bands I see it as throwing down the gauntlet to them and saying "it'll be the death of you because Green Day's so much better live." That's my interpretation of his tweet. Speaking as a Green Day fan Billie is of course completely right and they would destroy the other two!! I really hope that is NOT what Billie meant in that tweet. Cause that is so arrogant. As for Green Day destroying the other 2? I dont think so. Metallica would kick the shit out of Green Day, guitar playing wise anyway.. I am saying that as a Green Day fan by the way. I just dont think the sun shines out of their arses and that they are the best musicians in the world, cause they aren't. Also it would be silly if this was a single day festival. Fan clashes would be unavoidable. Reading over the Metallica message boards, they have a very negative opinion of Green Day and their fans . . . . . I dont blame them
Amanda
Metallica annoy the hell out of me though. It's not even the band - it's all the people I've met who are massive fans! They're always such music snobs. Can imagine there would be rivalry if bands like U2 and Green Day went on tour with them. I'm gonna put this in a spoiler, so Alex plz don't click it To be fair, I have a few friends who are Metallica fans and they have varied music tastes (like me) and aren't anal about the stuff they like. I know I enjoy taking the piss and having a little dig at Hetfield at times (it's a habit, from fucking around teasing my friends), but there are one to two of their songs that I quite like. Not sure if I could stand a crowd full of punks, metal heads, and U2 fans though. Plus, can you imagine all those egos on tour together? Fuck. colour_me_stupid_
No no, don't worry I was talking about the kind of eejits that were at Marlay Park last year, with their "Billie I'm pregnant" signs That's the type of fan that Metallica fans wouldn't be impressed with, is all I meant Saying things like this reminds me of how much I love you Teehee

Yep, I mean you'd have the hardcore 'tallica fans and then Green Day fan girls. (among non-fangirl type fans, of course) The fan girls will get physically injured .. Vrock09
For me Metallica and Green Day would be like a dream come true! And U2 is just..yeah they're just not my thing. But I've seen Metallica at Ozzfest a couple years back and I don't know.. I just can't see the Green Day world meeting up with Metallica's. As far as performance strengths, I think it's hard to compare the two. I think Green Day is much more of a theatrical band but still keeping the cheesyness down to a minimal., whereas Metallica is much more raw and doesn't have as much crowd interaction, because honestly there really is no need. Both are great bands live nevertheless, just very different. I'd be shocked if this went down tho.. and giddy, shocked and giddy.
bollard_11
Ah g'wan Mods deleted all the good comments, heres "the best" of whats remaining though so what would the ticket price be? 250 €?! Really a bad idea IMO. what could be the complete opposite of the Big 4 - tour?! right. Touring with poprock-monster U2 and "so called punk" Green Day. terrible. and imagine the people standing front row. no way. I like U2,even if their last few cds have been half decent, ain't cared for Green Day since Dookie, not a good idea to tour together with Metallica Well, IF it ever happened, I would probably go, obviously to see Metallica, but I know I would be overcome with an overwhelming desire to kill myself during the U2 set. And don't get me started on Green Day fangirls
