Green Day, U2 and Metallica doing something? maybe? No one knows....

I just don't see this working out if it were to be done. Their audiences are so different. And let's face it, in terms of live performances Green Day are no longer the draw they once were saleswise. Musically they'd blow the other two out of the water, but still.

As a proud Irishman, I have to say this: if you like U2, you need to go home and rethink your life.

They're pretty much the Irish Nickelback.

U2 has a few good songs but they are severly overrated...

Metallica was good til Black Album but the new stuff and Lars and James douchebagism totally drags them down...

It would be more expensive in Australia it was something ridiculous like $250 just to see Taylor Swift :sorry:

I actually spend that money to see her. Twice. #sorrynotsorry

U2 puts on a good show though from what I've seen online.

Am I the only one who likes all three of them? :(

Nop, i like them too! :)

And i really love u2!!! But i don't think this would work, the undiences for the three bands are so different, plus, some Metallica fans think they're so "metal" that they will starting to bash Green Day

Oh man, think of all the U2 fans getting destroyed in the pit? I'd go just to see that.

literally one of the two reason i'd ever go to this. the other being GD, obviously.

200 bucks is the cost of nose bleed sections at an average U2 concert Metallica is high as fuck too we'd be looking at 300-400 for godawful seats

Plus Green Day would be the only good band playing...

this is why i would not go. fuck paying £400+ for 2 shit bands & 1 good band with a god awful crowd ruining that small slot they get.

Metallica and Green Day together sounds nice. Haven't heard a lot of U2 so I can't say anything about them. Definietly interesting though!

Metallica aren't a shit band,U2 are though, but I do agree with the 400 dollars for a ticket plus I just can't imagine metalheads, green day fans, and U2 fans in the same crowd

I can't think of a worse idea. Each band is so different to the others, they'd ALL be playing to the wrong crowd. The atmosphere would be crap and pretty volatile, it'd be insanely overpriced, no band would be able to play a full set, and Green Day would be the only good band there. Utterly, utterly pointless and I hope to god it doesn't happen. It just doesn't make sense, on any level.

Neither did the Trilogy, or an album with Lou Reed, or being, well, U2.

This is definitely going to happen, isn't it.

The three bands are so differents. It wouldn't make sens for them to do a concert, festival or whatever else together. 3 different bands mean 3 different fans crowds. It would be boring for someone in a crowd to listen to 2 bands he/she doesn't like just to be able to listen to his/her favorite band. And we can't forget that the tickets' price might be expensive. Personnaly, even if U2 and Metallica are like legendary bands, I don't like them. I will never buy a ticket to see them live even if GD is on stage with them.

ok well Metallica are a shit band in ~my opinion~

yeah it's 3 totally different crowds, it wouldn't work at all. plus, i'd rather shoot myself than have to fight my way through Metallica fans for barrier.

It would be interesting. 3 big bands, very different musically, and very different sets of fans. I think the three bands would make it work, cos I think they're friendly with each other, which is cool, but I'm not sure whether the fans of each band would want to sit/stand through a concert of the other bands.

Still, although I have virtually no knowledge of Metallica and their music, my respect for them went up after seeing this:

I'd be all for Green Day and Metallica. Not a U2 fan in any regard but it'd be worth it to see my two favourite bands in concert together. They're the three biggest groups in the world likely, one of which having the biggest tour of all time. Ticket prices would be ridiculous. I think the crowd would mainly be composed of Green Day fans and U2 fans, because it seems like Metallicas fan base is extremely riled up about this. But all of the Metallica fans I'm friends with would be quite content with the concert as they also like Green Day.

500 dollar nosebleeds to hear bono's annoying douchey tax-avoiding voice!

Nice uneducated statement about Bono and tax.

Nope, he pretty much nailed it mate.

Like U2's music all you want, there's no escaping the fact that all of them are tax dodging dicks. Instead of going around posturing about saving the world, they could pay their fair share towards keeping their native country afloat.

If this happened it would be best if they all played a full set each covering one of the other bands sets, Green Day play a Metallica set, Metallica Play a U2 set and U2 play a Green Day set, that way no one would be happy. Fair is fair afterall
