I prefer the AAF CD for obvious reasons: it's a far better representation of what the world tour was like, as there are songs from so many different countries, both from 2009 and 2010. Also, the selection of songs chosen is far better and they aren't restricted with the boring setlist they used for the entire American Idiot tour that's on the BIAB CD. But I much prefer the BIAB DVD because it gives a much better insight into the behind-the-scenes feature of a Green Day concert: I love all of the backstage snippets, the banter with the band and the fan interviews. I just think it's far more interesting than an entire concert with no real depth. I mean, the AAF concert is still amazing obviously, but it's just too similar to World Stage...

BIAB! it's a lot more entertaining and the whole production is just grandiose (more magnificent than AAF). well yes, of course because the milton keynes concert was really meant to be a dvd concert, unlike AAF (?), so i guess its production wouldn't be as big.

and i don't quite like the color editing, the texture of AAF. it's like grainy, so much screen noise/fuzziness.

__

i'd like to compare BIAB to the next green day concert dvd.

I like the BIAB DVD better. I love stadium shows, and the backstage stuff was great. I like the AAF CD better than the BIAB one, since it has more rare songs.

At the moment i prefer Bullet In a Bible. It might be because i have watched it a lot more, and it was one of the things that helped me to get into Green Day. I like the fact that Bullet In A Bible has all of the backstage stuff and interviews in between songs. I think you get to see the gig more from the band's point of view then, and it adds more emotion, and i prefer the selection of songs in Bullet in a Bible. Don't get me wrong i think Awesome as Fuck is amazing. I always find myself dancing along to their cover of My Generation when it comes on, and it reminds me of all the shows that i went to on this tour. Give me time and i might prefer Awesome as Fuck to Bullet in a Bible. I just gotta get used to it.

It's a hard one really. Because like others have said, the CD of AAF is definitely better than the CD from BIAB. And also, I think the actual song choices on AAF are way better than BIAB, but the way AAF is edited really annoys me. The weird lighting, and some of the random bits of video they show instead of the actual song. And of course the lack of backstage stuff on AAF also lets it down for me. But the way Billie turns into the bunny at the start of AAF is fucking legendary!

AAF, BIAB, 21CB, GSB, 2000LYA, AI, 1039SOSH, KFAD, etc. jeez we are like code ninjas!

Bullet in a Bible, without any doubt. Because I think it was a huge live concert. Leaving aside the interviews and backstage thing, which I really love, (maybe Awesome As Fuck should have something like that). But I personally feel that AAF is like an hermetic show (even more of what it looks like for being filmed in a covered place) :P Is very dark and... I don't know, it feels like something's missing. Maybe because of the different track list, I actually wanted to see other songs...

But Green Day has always been a band with lots of power and love on stage. And AAF is just another big proof of that, another great way of Green Day to defend its throne as the 'best live band':dance:

That's my opinion on the dvd, I didn't hear the cd of aaf yet!

C'mon guys, AAF I'd better. More old stuff. (although I do dislike so many people on stage. SIX??!! All you need is 3)

Bullet in a Bible always seemed too phony for me . . too predictable and fake. It made Green Day look too huge for their own good . .

Awsome as Fuck is better in my opinion, but I would have loved to see some Lookout era material on the DVD . . but man, how fucking cool is My Generation?? I felt like I was cheating on my girlfriend when I saw it. That one song is better than anything on Bullet in a Bible, except maybe the Tre moments.

I just wish it would have included some bonus shit . . maybe the videos from 21CBD?

On a side note, I think Chris Dugan did a really impressive job that can easily compete with Bullet in a Bible. I like how he makes the band seem more natural and 'classic Green Day' like. The sound and direction are phenomenal.

Id like to see GD record their next album with Chris.

I think that BIAB was better, but I preferred AAF. Green Day have evolved and got better even since BIAB, and AAF was more personal if that's the right word. Both are great, though! To say the AAF DVD wasn't as professional as the BIAB one, it's pretty awesome. But I don't think either show quite how amazing the performances really were despite how great they are.

Awesome as F**k is brilliant, but Bullet in a Bible is on another level. It's not just a concert DVD, they made a film out of it.

Plus I was there so there is an amount of sentiment in there too...

I don't know if anyone has said this yet, but I think the two are made to be looked at in different ways.

AAF is more a live CD with a bonus DVD, BIAB is the other way around. Its a DVD, with a bonus live CD.

If that makes sense to anyone else but me? haha

The CD is the exciting thing about AAF because it has all those amazing rare songs and its from shows from all around the world, its a pretty incredible thing. And then the DVD just accompanies it. I freaking love the DVD too, but it's still not the same as BIAB which was made to capture the EVENT that was Milton Keynes. Not to mention it has all the interviews and extras.

The point is. I can't split the two because I look at them in different ways :)

I'm being rebelious and gonna go with BIAB.

Just cause it's something way more emotional to me idk, its something so huge and BAM and AAF to me is just a good live concert idk.

BIAB just means more to me, can't really explain my reasons in english, sorry guys.

I second this. BIAB Actually to me, was a lot better. I really liked to 'get to know the band' more, and hearing their views about themselves, the meaning behind their music, their personal preferences as to what makes a good show, what their favourite songs are, and their explanations on their opinions for things.

I really like the way you worded it too; BIAB has more meaning. I went to see Green Day on their 21CB tour, it was phenomenal, but American Idiot as a whole is more powerful to me. :) Sorry if this has been repeated from what anyone else has said ^_^;

AAF is my generation. I was like, eight during the bowl concerts.

so, Awesome as Fuck represents the era I went to see them first and was bowled away, and went on to see them again. BIAB represents nothing to me

I agree...BIAB is better than AAF, it's really exciting and everytime I watch it, I feel like I'm there at the show!

GREAT! No other words to describe it. :sherlock:

I picked Bullet in a Bible 'cause the DVD was much better in terms of the video production .. Also the backstage scenes that everyone bitched about were what made it so good."Oh no They cut so much stuff out, Ohh no, the interviews cut the dynamics of the concert, ohh noo Sam Bayer." - I have no complaints about those things.

Awesome as Fuck as an album, was of course was much better. It was made for the fans, not for mtv. Also since this one was the first GD tour I've been part of, it's very special, the DVD will always make me remember the concert I went to in 2009... And I think the 21st CBD era has been much better than the AI era. Specially in terms of live shows.

The two cd/dvds can't really be compared.

But I just enjoy to see the performance more than hearing it. So that justifies my vote XD

I'd Have to say Bullet in a Bible.. I mean I fuckin' love Awesome as Fuck as well, but BIAB seems almost... I dunno... I kinda like the fact it has all the little random interviews in it after the songs :3 Its almost like a classic to me  I usually tend to like the first of things, and BIAB was the first live dvd of this sort that came out. Plus i've had BIAB WAAAAY longer and have watched it WAAAY more  So i've gotten attached to it... Plus it BIAB has King For a Day  And thats my favorite song of there's to hear/see live  (and no. NOT because Billie shows his ass  I love the guy, but not like that  ) Plus BIAB was almost more like a movie than AAF and I kinda like that

That is all :sherlock:

I love them both for sure. I feel both are definitely very different from each other. One is an actual FLIM about Green Day. Whereas the other is a live album with a bonus cd.

AAF:

I love the CD a lot more. The DVD is great if you just want to watch a concert, but it's way more fluid than BIAB.

BIAB:

I love the DVD since it's more film like and has behind the scenes. The CD is just ripped versions of the DVD.

Yeah. The fact that the DVD and CD is different on AAF is much better. I love the interviews, don't get me wrong, but asbi said before, I prefer the AAF DVD for the more straight-through feel.

Still not sure. I watched BIAB like a million times because it was the first and only Green Day show footage I had access to, so it's special. But having seen them live myself on the 21st CB tour AAF is extra special too for bringing back so many memories. I enjoy both but I'm a lot less interested in BIAB than I used to be what with having loads of different shows to watch online, whereas I'll always be compelled to watch a DVD of a tour I went to.

I like the CD of AAF better because it has a way more interesting set list on it. Also on the DVD "my generation","Jesus of suburbia" and "American Eulogy" stand out for me, (i think that the performance of "jos" is a lot better now.)

But the DVDs for bullet in a bible makes it a winner for me. Just a lot better angles and all together more epic.

I voted BIAB because I like the BIAB dvd better than AAF dvd because there are more backstage scenes and interviews, and I like the show better, it reminds me of my first Green Day concert which was just 3 weeks after the shows at Milton Keynes.

I like the AAF cd better than BIAB cd though, because of tracks like Christie Road and Paper Lanterns (well that's itunes bonus...), Going to Pasalacqua, Burnout, Who Wrote Holden Caulfield...
