Jaymee!!
I really like that Adrienne is so involved with loving the production so much. It's so sweet that she goes to visit all the different casts from time to time But Whatsername's hair. Do not like.
plaid ducky
The intermission is between TMTS and BTL. The reason of the intermission is primarily for UK leg. The theatres in there wanted an intermission so that they can sell concessions during it. They put the clause in their contracts. It's a pretty petty reason for the theatres, IMHO. :angry
lizziebix
It always comes down to money, doesn't it. Sorry for the UK fans that will have to endure this. Shame.
kelly42fox
That really stinks. I feel bad for all of the fans who have to see it that way. I guess that where they put it is the best place.....
beejeezee
I wish they were coming back to AZ soon because then I would be able to write my paper on AI the musicalwhich is awesome instead of something Idon't really like. Same here.
Karen.
It'll be weird, but I'm not that surprised. I can't imagine the theatre being full. At the theatre here, they recently cancelled the whole week of South Pacific due to low ticket sales.
k-tea
The musical is coming to the my university tonight, and there is a documentary about it being showed beforehand. The entire cast of the musical is in here as well watching it. I'm trying to avoid fangirling a bit...

Popular Post k-tea
Super long post here goes... Okay. So the documentary. Also, the producer of the musical was there for the talk afterwards too. The documentary was AMAZING. A shocking amount of interviews with Billie that were done for the documentary, and well as a whole behind the scenes look at the creation of it and about Billie when he played St. Jimmy. My favorite part of the whole thing I think though, was when they showed Michael Mayer previewing a song from the musical to the Green Day boys for one of the first times, before Green Day even gave it the official go ahead. The cast sang through Last Night on Earth, which if anyone has heard this version it is very different than the original Green Day version, and they showed Billie, Mike, and Tre's reactions. Adrienne was sitting behind Billie when they were watching, and in the middle she started smiling and tearing up a little and tapped him on the shoulder and he looked at her, smiled and gave her the biggest kiss ever. It was adorable in 8,000 ways. But the documentary was very interesting, if anyone has both a love for Green Day and musical theatre, they should be especially excited. Another favorite thing from the documentary, was an interview with Billie about the premiere of the musical in New York. He talked about how Donald Trump was there and just said "Seriously...like what the fuck? Donald Trump? Really why are you here?" It was also adorable. My only complaint about it was a lot of Bullet in a Bible footage was used, which I as many other Green Day fans have, seen it a million times. But it wasn't bad by any means. Unfortunately, I couldn't film any of it (the setup of the auditorium would have made it super awkward and obvious) and I didn't get any of the interview because they asked for it not to be filmed. The interview was great, especially with the producer there (I can't remember his name...). The coolest thing I took from the interview was them talking about Billie playing St. Jimmy. It was revealed by the producer that the part of St. Jimmy was written for Billie from the start, if he ever chose to play him. Which is why St. Jimmy has no difficult stage moves or dances, nothing Billie, a broadway amateur, couldn't do. He talked about how him and Michael Mayer had gotten to "plant the seed" in Billie's mind from the beginning talks about it, especially through talking to Adrienne about it. That whole thing was really cool to hear. I also heard a few funny stories, like the question got asked about who else had asked to play St. Jimmy. Davy Havok from AFI as many people know has inquired about it, the guy from 30 Seconds to Mars apparently, some other random people that weren't as exciting. Nothing else really super stands out to me. The documentary mostly focused on the musical making process, as well as how Billie felt about the musical. I also saw the musical live for the first time tonight, and get to sit in the very front orchestra seating in the middle, I caught a pick thrown at the end, and I thought it was amazing
Heather.
Completely awesome, thanks for the recap! Did they mention anything at all about the future release of this film? I'm dying to see it now! Also, when they were singing LNOE was it in the same place that we've seen this footage/photos: I only ask because that's my college and I used to live down the hall from that room

GDLoT
Super long post here goes... Okay. So the documentary... Wow! That is so thrilling to hear about. It sort of sounds like we've seen tiny bits of it through that MTV 4 video promo when it was opening on Broadway but then SOME. Thank you for the wonderful recap on it. I'd sure like to see the documentary some day too. Also thank you plaid for forewarning us that there is going to be the intermission and where it will be at some of the performances. I'm disappointed that they are going to ruin the flow of this artwork for $$ sake but it will be a nice breather for the cast, if they don't mind that interruption in the art. That's the only bright side? I can think of for it.

That is really funny. Also random creepy sidenote. Billie talked about Wake Me Up When September Ends in the documentary, and how what the song is about. And mentioned several times that "September is always a bad month" for him. And I find it creepy that right at the beginning of this September he is sent to the hospital and has to cancel a show. Weirds me out.

plaid ducky
So my friend just posted some audio of the current tour cast. Um... I kinda like them better than the 1st national tour cast. LOL. I've been rooting for them to be good because they're really sweet in interacting on Twitter. If you wanna hear a preview, here's Extraordinary Girl: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/1641504/24ExtraordinaryGirl.mp3

If you wanna hear a preview, here's Extraordinary Girl: I saw them the other night and they are pretty great. I think I may like them about the same as the other, though, but I may like Alex a bit more than Van as Johnny. Trent does an amazing job as St. Jimmy, too.
