And you didn't take Kevin up on his offer? They considered you family! C'est la vie, I guess!

Not really up to him, I think. Jimmy heard that the show was gonna be 21+ and Kevin said there wasn't anything he could do to get him in.

He said to find him after the show, but it was craziness there and we didn't see him again. :/

I think that Kevin could have gotten some people in. He said to me that the Bowery was really strict on their age limits and he didn't think he could do anything for me.

I'm kinda glad it was a private thing though. If some people had gotten in but not everyone, it would just create a lot of drama and bitching, etc. So I'm glad everyone's on more or less equal footing.

Downloading the videos right now! Can't wait to watch them!

I really can't believe it is over! Even though I never even got the chance to go, but still it was such a huge and important project for green day.

I must admit I did see the show that leaked a few weeks ago, and I cried my eyes out. First cause I finally got to see it and second cause it was so fucking good. At first, I was one of those people that doubted the musical, cause y'know I thought it was taking it a bit too far. Oh was I wrong.

It's the end of such a beautiful thing but also the beginning of new projects :) can't wait to see what countries will be part of the world tour and I can't wait for the movie.

Sorry about the rambling, I'm a little emotional -_-

Omg what an awesome night! Didn't see the show but we waited at the barricades and the whole band came out the other door! We went over by Sardies cause we heard the band was in there. We saw Tre in the window. I got a pic of him. Later Tre just ran out signed like 1 or 2 things and thats it. I met Jason White and got a picture with him! I met Kevin Preston and asked for a pic, he said sure but he was in a rush so after he signed one thing he apoligized for not being able to take one and touched my sholder. Mike and Billie came out next . Mike just got in the car but Billie signed a few things. There was a little crowd around him so I just snapped a pic of him. It was still worth going. Oh and I also saw Matthew Broderick and Sarah Jessica Parker

Green Day was amazing last night. I must be honest, I did miss the original cast playing the characters, but the night was amazing. :) I got Billie's autograph and a picture with Rebecca and her autograph as well. Stark Sands is so nice, me and him talked for a bit.

I'll post some of my pictures in a bit.

I will upload the non watermarked ones to GDA in a few mins.

I was right behind that guy taking those pictures.

Yea, that place was a HUGE mess LOL

I also think we would have been fine if people didn't post all over about it and where it was. Plus, I had a feeling it was going to be 21+ anyways so half of the people who were waiting outside wouldn't have gotten in anyways

Sorry, didn't mean it to sound snarky. I get that it was private. I was just saying, that Kevin obviously thinks of Courtney (and GDA) as family. Nice compliment actually.

the photos from the surprise show are amazing! I love how the cast are all on stage behind them.

I'm super happy for everyone that got to go :)

also, while I know that this isn't the end for American Idiot, it's the end of a massive part of Green Day's history, and more importantly, it's the end of the global meet-up place for Green Day fans from around the world.

It just hit me.

I met so so so many people while waiting around outside the St James theatre, from all parts of the world, because this was the centre of the Green Day universe for a short period of time. With American Idiot on Broadway ending, so ends those meet-ups outside the St James, and so ends the one of the greatest opportunities we're all likely to have to get to interact with Green Day fans in person on this scale.

There'll be no more grabbing pizza down at the food court, huddling together to avoid the cold, seeing someone you know from GDC in person for the first time, getting excited over every black, tinted car that pulls up, comparing tattoos, mustachios, St Jimmy glittering or just general Green Day fangirling/boying. And this makes me sad.

While the show will go on, the St James gatherings are now a thing of the past.

To me, that's the worst part about the show ending.
