COMETBUS #54 Green Day In China?!

I finished reading it the same day it arrived. Loved it! Very interesting read. To be honest, the most talked about parts in the book, you know, with the superfans/big three/octopus things, weren't that big of a deal. There were a lot more things in the book I disagreed with. But anyway, it was, like I said, very interesting. I'm glad I ordered it through GDA anyway! :D Now I'm kinda sad I read the whole thing already. Looks like I'm gonna read it again soon, haha.

There is one part I just dont get and I want to know who he's talking about so maybe one of you has an idea. It's the last sentence in chapter 7. Who does he mean in that sentence? :sherlock:

Well Billie met his wife, Tre isn't 'wholesome' so that leaves only one other person...

I was thinking of Mike but the "we never saw him kiss anyone" confused me...hmm, oh well.

I think he's trying to make out that he grew some confidence with women but never kissed & told.

Mike appears to come across the best out of the three of them in this.

Haha sorry. But hey, at least you still have that "being excited about getting the book"-feeling while we are already done reading it (or halfway done reading it) :P

I noticed that Mike seems to come across the best in the book (and I'm only at chapter 11). I'm not surprised though.

What do you mean by best? I don't mind reading mini spoilers...just mini ones though :P

This is really driving you mental isn't it ?

The descriptions of him appear to be the most flattering out of the ones he does for each member of the band.

Just little details. Wait until you get the book and you will find out yourself :D

btw: i just realized in that sentence I meant he was referring to "back then". I thought he was talking about "in general" if you know what I mean. Stupid me

Yes

I can't stand paying for it and not having it in my lap already :shy:

To bad you cant buy the book on line and also get the option to read it online...oh well...I guess this is an opportunity for me to learn some patience.

I haven't read it either. Hoping I'll be able to get a copy in the next batch that comes in, unless we sell all those right away too.

Approx 400! And it had already been released a month before we started selling them!

Haha, on the one side I can't stop reading, but I don't want to finish it immediately.

I didn't think it was Mike he talked about in that part. I have to say I haven't even started Ch. 8 yet, but Mike isn't exactly described as "the most secretive and moralistic of all".

('scuse the awkward quoting, I wasn't sure which post to quote, haha)

That's great!

I wish you guys were selling Kerrang Legends with Green Day the way you're selling the Cometbus issues now.. Paypal is easy, and it's GDA, I know it's safe.

Wow, that's quite impressive. Must be the most successful issue ever put out by Aaron  I hope that will make him want to write more about Green Day :whistle

Lucky! I asked my dad to order it with his credit card, but the issue never arrived. Took a while before I got my money back. Still too bad I never got it xD Yay for scans on GDC.

I assumed he meant Mike because he'd mentioned Bill,

Billie & Tre by name and not him. Have you read the bit

about the various phones yet ?

I think it might be Al (seeing as secretive and moralistic both fits his description). Mike is mostly described as loud and funny (simplified).

Yeah, I have.

^Yeah pretty sure he was talking about Al there, that's why he specified it being during the early tours (as well as it fitting Al's description and not Mike's).

I'm reading this much faster than I'd planned . I was expecting it to be more different to other Cometbus stuff since the newest stuff I've read is a decade old. Pleasantly surprised to find that isn't the case! Love all the walking around stuff :D, wasn't expecting it with him being in such a different situation. Like everyone who's read it has already said it's a really honest insight into the band and a story of friendship and how it changes over time, as well as a travel journal. As always there's a few things I've found overly judgemental and disagreed with already but that's to be expected with him. Enjoying it very much!

I dunno, I still think he's on about Mike.
