Just booked my flight to NY :woot::banana::runaround: I still can't believe that I'm flying halfway around the world out of a spontaneous decision (and peer pressure :D) to see a musical! (not any musical of course) and to see NEW YORK! And to meet all these fabulous people  Someone pinch me!!

You are so lucky, Anja! I'm sure you will have the best time ever :D <3

This is so cool, I love his comic style!! And like Aska said..details! Esp. of his tattoos too! :woot:

I actually looked up flights and considered seriously going if i found something cheap, but of course i didn't.

Try to keep checking... Sometimes airline sites put up really cheap flights for a really short amount of time. (One time, I started booking my flight and after filling in all the information when I got to the payment page, the tickets I originally wanted were gone already...) You might be able to snag some good deals if you keep your eyes on their sites. Not the most fun thing to do but who knows, if you find a flight, it'll be worth it in the end!

Two nights? Hey, seriously? When do you ever get the chance to go to New York? If you spend that much money on a flight, you have to stay longer! You have to make it worth it and take the chance to go see New York, not just the musical! 5 days should be minimum :P And as I said, if we share hotel costs, it will be really cheap in the end. We found some cheap places already that we have in mind.

Damn, you guys are gonna be living the luxury life in New York --- When I go this time, I don't have the money to stay anywhere overnight, haha.

I'm going to be leaving home around 11:00 PM the night before the show, getting in NYC via train at 12:00 PM the day of the show, watching the evening show, staying the entire night after the show without a hotel, ((Just going to wander around NYC in the warmest areas I can find and sample lots of cheap food, haha,)) And then getting back on the train around 7:00 AM.

Hotel? Who needs a hotel? Sleep? Never heard of it.

It's fucking NYC, baby!

I did the same for a Green Day show in Berlin. Totally worth it :D

I have a tight budget too. I'm a student, I have no job and I dont even get any finanical support from the state :P Hmm, we could get one for $400 for 5 nights (which is hella cheap) that is close to the theater and basically in downtown where everything exciting is happening. Divided by 3 it would be like $40 each per night (if you stay 5 nights. if less it would be cheaper of course but dont ask me. I suck at maths.) But for New York, that is really cheap!

Yeah, but if you stay 6 nights like I do, you cant really live without sleep :P

I did the same for a Green Day show in Berlin. Totally worth it :D

Nawww, good times  I remember you messaging me saying that you were in McDonalds and it was like 5am or so

this is so tempting.

i think i'm going to do it! i have the money.

but is this a one person room, because isn't it illegal if more people share it? i don't care that much, it's my mom who's wondering :P

and i'm thinking of arriving the 24th and leaving the 28th, but it doesn't really matter because prices are the same.

I know. When I first posted here (that was 2 days ago), everyone was like "go! do it!" and now I have my flight booked

No, since we are 2 people already, we are going for a double room. Single rooms only have one bed (a very tiny one i think) and yeah...I need my space :P

I remember someone saying that they booked a 900 Dollar suite in NY last year for the musical and shared it with about 10-15 people  It is illegal but I've done it several times before and in big hotels in big cities with lots of people, no one will notice.

We're staying until the 28 as well so that'd be a good timing. Let me know what you decide to do :)

Thanks a lot!

Anja, I just sent you a message on Facebook between you and Naomi. She just stayed at a hostel on 109th and Amsterdam that was $35 a night for a shared room. If you have several people in the room, you can probably get a room together? She just got back to Toronto this morning, so might be asleep now after spending all night on a bus, but she'll get back to you when she can!

I see she already contacted you! Nevermind...

Thank you for your help, Tanya! I just replied. I think I'm fine now. I found a website with great offers on hotels and I'll share it with 2 other people so it'll be fine :)

I contacted her but nevermind :D
