I lol'd when you made her look away from Johnny and Rebecca's gyrations...good thing there were other things going on with Michael to look at. Loved meeting you too! Hannah said she took one look at what was going on in that bed and made sure to keep looking at "the cutie with the Billie hair on the couch". That made me laugh:) We made it to the times talk!!! You were right they had extra tickets at will call....She was too tired to go anywhere after but it was the Best Birthday ever!
songofthecenturyx
The entire time I thought Gerard was someone else /bad fan I know SO many people that weren't even intrested in flying to New York for AI, and then BAM Billie comes along & everyone wants to see it. I've always wanted to see it moons before Billie was even involved with the musical not just for the sake that Billie is there. Sorry for the delayed reply, but... What do you expect? Isn't that the point? They brought Billie in because AI sales weren't so hot and it's pretty much guaranteed to sell out if he's in it. At the end of the day it's about money. It's a business. I know many Green Day fans that aren't interested in the play and think it's just cheesy Green Day karaoke. Now that Billie is in it, some of those people that wouldn't normally see the play are buying tickets to it. Also, I know in "Green Day world" it is normal to see AI a million times (I'm guilty of it too), but the reality is that the average person goes to see a play once. Those people are more likely to see it again now that Billie is St. Jimmy. And wouldn't it make sense that if someone's going to spend hundreds of dollars for a plane ticket to NY to see AI that they would do it when their idol is playing the role of St. Jimmy? I mean like it or not, it's a lot more worth it and exciting for the average person to see Billie in the play.

Katherine
I did not see the musical yesterday, but after the matinee I got to meet him again. He seemed to be in a very good mood. He signed my "Idiot as Fuck" sign from 9/19, and after he signed it I joked around with him a little: me: “Hey Billie…I like your nailpolish.” billie: “Hey there…*laugh* oh, why thank you!” “Could I get a really fast photo?” “Well that depends…do you have a really fast camera?” “ACTUALLY, I have a VERY fast camera, THANK YOU.” And from that, I got a photo with him. I've met him a few times before, but I've never gotten a photo with him/to really talk to him, so I'm just so happy. Totally worth freezing my ass off in sub-zero temperatures. Katarina.
Why would people actually want to buy or have a copy of Billie's (or any other one) autograph? I mean, they weren't at the show, they didn't wait after it, they didn't ask Billie to sign whatever needed an autograph. Idk.. There's no value in it for me like that. I'd never buy an autograph. Same here. I don't get it. The only way I'd ever buy something autographed is if it's signed by a dead person (ie, Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Kurt Cobain) and there's no way for me to ever actually get an autograph myself. I did however win an autographed MCR CD from a radio station once, but I ended up just giving it to my cousin because I had no real personal attachment to it. I already had the CD, and it's not like I got to meet the band or anything. Initially I was like "woah... Gerard, Mikey, Frank, Bob, and Ray touched this CD case" but that feeling wore off after an hour, haha.
Bastard of 1967
I think it would be making a joke out of the show if he just stepped out of his role and went off to get a drink (and "he's a rock star, let him do what he wants" does not apply to Broadway). But I think that what he did was something that very much fits St. Jimmy, I think it's quite cool what he did. From what I've heard about his interpretation of St. Jimmy, jumping off the stage to get a bottle of JD is something what St. Jimmy would definitely do. He (St. Jimmy) just did his being cool and introduction thing and has Johnny under his belt so his work is done, but now he (St. Jimmy) wants some booze and the rest can damned well fucking wait. It wasn't Billie getting something to drink, it was St. Jimmy. I am sure someone will come and explain it a thousand times better than I just did. You explained it quite well. +1rep for that, woulda given you more if I could. I think bj was just throwing in a little reminder of how wicked (and awesome!) things can be when punk rock takes over Broadway! Of course, traditional Broadway types will disagree but....<ahem>....up theirs, y'know?
