His last point is valid. I mean, if it wasn't for the videos, that group wouldn't know how "Holiday" was and wouldn't have copied it.

Just be aware of the cast and don't take pictures or video. And if you see the person next to you doing it, kindly ask them to stop. I have done that. The lady next to me just thought that JOS was great and whipped out her iPhone to record a video, not even being discreet about it. I softly told her that the audience isn't allowed to take video or pictures. She put it away but took it out again to audio record Whatsername, which wasn't distracting as the video taking so I didn't even bother.

/off soapbox

 I had NO idea about this copy situation, so I'm totally surprised by that. Do you happen to have a link or something to a video of these 'argentinian assholes', as Gerard so kindly put it?

Yeah they did cause people always started to line up behind the car waiting for Billie and Adrienne, so some police officers put up the tape.

The show was amazing :woot: But I had an old guy sitting next to me who always started to snor when a slow song started urgh and he always felt the need to make stupid comments! I hate people like this!

And yay Billie signed the photo I took with him in June and he talked to me :)

It's not as bad as it was in September so far. Plus, the theater is right across the street from where Al Pacino is in Merchant of Venice and there's a huge crowd that waits for Pacino, too. The police have put up police tape on both sides of the street for that show, too.

When Billie was in the show previously, it was a madhouse. So far, I've seen the show twice and it's a only a semi-madhouse, lol. But still, it's a lot of people.

Oh my gawd I came home from NYC not too long ago and let’s just say the past two days were complete madness! :woot: Wednesday’s evening I got a spot right against the barricade and got the autographs of Rebecca, Leslie, Stark, Wallace, Alysha and Brian on my special edition of AI. They were all amazing for taking the time to sign all the playbills! Leslie was wondering which edition was my AI copy cos she never saw it before. I told her it was the one with the letters in between the songs which inspired the dialogues in the musical and she was awesome. Then when Billie came out it was crazy! He was always making funny silly faces in front of me while signing autographs

I didn't get one though but him being right in my face made up for it! He waved at us before getting in the car and we were all waving at him as the car was leaving (:

I went to the show on the 6 and I was row AA 105, right against the stage! I was sitting next to Mareike (Mary711 here) and Jennifer (Warning: AmericanNimrod here). It was awesome to be with you guys btw  We kinda took showers many time there because JGJ, Billie and Esper were the ones spitting the most on us  The whole show was breathtaking! My mind has definitely been blown by the awesomeness of the musical, I loved every single second of it! The cast has so much energy and their voices are so powerful, it was beautiful to see them sing with so much passion and harmony! And the choreographies were great! I made eye contact several time with JGJ, Billie, Stark, Leslie, and Esper smiled at me while singing!

I never saw Billie smile that much, he’s definitely having a blast being in the musical with the cast! Before starting Good Riddance, he said "This is where we’re gonna start the whole show over from beginning, on acoustic." Everyone in the audience went wild! Mareike had brought an "Awesome as fuck" sign which she held during the song! JGJ saw it and laughed and Billie smiled, it was great! When they finished Good Riddance, they all came at the end of the stage for the final bows. Billie was right in front of me and I gave him a little card I made, basically thanking him for everything. He took it, looked right at me, smiled and said thank you! He was so sweet!

I’m putting my highlights and some funny things that happened in spoilers in case some people don’t wanna be spoiled before seeing the show. They’re not in order btw..

- Well when Billie took my card it was pretty cool to be honest :D

- The set was amazing, with the car hanging upside down and everything!

- I loved when Billie screamed right before he did his entrance as St Jimmy, we knew he was gonna come out soon lol. He did some funny movements during the song by walking weirdly and he did lots of silly faces during the whole show, it was hard not to laugh XD

- To see Stark and Christina "fly" during Extraordinary Girl was beautiful, Idk how to describe it otherwise

- Before Novacaine, JGJ said his usual line "Now we’re getting somewhere, nowhere" while sitting on the bed next to Billie. I was expecting Billie to say "We don’t need no stinking badges" or "Baby, baby it’s fuck time". But no, Mr Armstrong decided to say this german phrase I believe he took from Tré "Ik been haben eine grose schniedelwudz” which means well.. "I have a big penis" Thanks to Mareike for telling me, I didn’t remember what it meant XD

- During Letterbomb, after Rebecca did her big scream, Billie looked at her with a crazy expression and mouthed "shut up fucking bitch". Everyone laughed!

It was an amazing experience and I’m so thankful I got to see the musical! :)

I'm gonna post the little amount of pics I took at the barricade sometime tomorrow!

Here's the video!

Aww so sweet! That's an amazing gift, I'm sure you'll cherish this moment forever!

was anyone there for tonight's night signing (1.5.11)? It was such chaos. The matinee had the normal amount of pushing and stuff, but the night was insane with autograph hounders. djfkdsjfklds but it was still amazing <3

I was there and yeah it was chaos :o I was against the barricade and my side was completely crazy!

And OMG, I laughed so much at what you wrote in the spoiler! About Billie saying that German phrase, and mouthing "shut up fucking bitch" when he looked at Rebecca

know SO many people that weren't even intrested in flying to New York for AI, and then BAM Billie comes along & everyone wants to see it. I've always wanted to see it moons before Billie was even involved with the musical not just for the sake that Billie is there.

This kind of annoys me as well.

The entire time I thought Gerard was someone else /bad fan

I'm not a big fan of musicals but I am a big fan of Billie Joe's music/singing/performing. So if I lived near enough to go, I probably would've quite enjoyed watching it without Billie, but not enough to consider it worth the money. But with him in it, it would be - his presence pushes it over the edge of being worth paying for

Even for someone who doesn't enjoy musicals it'd be enjoyable to see their favourite songwriter and performer performing the songs he wrote on stage in a totally new way. That's just the way it is.

Fantastic :woot:. I love hearing little details like that too

I wanted to see the second it was announced. 3 of my best friends have seen it now due to having generous parents...

Same here. If I lived in the US, near Broadway/New York, I think I would have gone to see it immediately.

And multiple times since!! Urgh! I get so frustrated.... grrrr

BTW has it been announced that it is only running until May 1st or is there possibility of a continuation (maybe through the summer?! BECAUSE I MIGHT FINALLY GET TO NEW YORK THEN!!)

lol is it bad that I'm glad my friend isn't going to New York in February, but in May instead?

Just for the being able to see the musical with (or without) Billie. Even if she did go in February she might not have gone, she's not a Green Day fan.

Just clarifying. Before anyone thinks I don't wish my friends to see it or something  It's the 'being able to' thing, not 'not wanting people to see it' xD

Having said that, I do hope that the musical gets extended beyond May 1.

Yeah, me too...

A while ago I was wondering about what it would be like if the musical played in the city I live in... already imagining myself going home from school, and leaving two hours later to see the musical, and that multiple times a week or something

Now that isn't going to happen and I know that, but I just really want to see it... even once would be fine. But it's already questionable whether I could see it even if it goes to London...

If it's going to London, I'm going to see it. No idea if I'm allowed or how I'm going to manage getting transportation/having enough money for all of it.. I just want to see this so bad.

I don't like to think about the fact I won't see it with Billie as St. Jimmy. No way I'm going to New York in February xD

It really depends on when it would get to London for me... there's a 95% chance my parents won't allow me, but when I'm 18 I guess I could just go. But I am considering sneaking out in some way if it does get to London.... I'll see what happens.

Yeah... le sigh :(

There is no intermission. So my guess would be that it really is 90 minutes (I wouldn't be able to tell you whether it's exactly 90 minutes or 95 minutes)

I don't think it has an intermission?
