That's so great! I'm really happy for you :)

That's one of the best birthday presents ever!

Are you going to more shows?

Were going to the interview sunday so we'll meet him again after the matinee again.

For those of you wondering how to meet him. If your not seeing a show but happen to be in the area (or if your seeing a later show) get to the theater hours before and stand outside. 20 minutes before the show ends they put up barriers and your one of the first people there so your garenteed a front row spot.

I edited the video now I just have to upload it to youtube. Be about 5 minutes.

Edit: Here's the video!

Oh my goodness congrats Robin! :woot: That's awesome!

Yeah, I really wanna meet Billie but we're only gonna be in the city for a day. =/ I'm going on the 24th of February which is a Thursday so there's no matinee and I doubt we'd be able to get out of the theatre in time to get a good spot on the barrier. :ermm: So I really don't know how it's gonna work out, if at all. But I'm definitely going to do my best.

was anyone there for tonight's night signing (1.5.11)? It was such chaos. The matinee had the normal amount of pushing and stuff, but the night was insane with autograph hounders. djfkdsjfklds but it was still amazing <3

Anyone seeing him on his birthday?

meeeee :)

Did you happen to be in the 8pm show? I was probably sitting right next to you. I gave Billie the bear after the show.

Omg guys today was even better than sunday!!!!! Billie said happy birthday to me ON CAMERA!!!!!!!! Saw him going in! And I gave him the bear after the show! He looked at it like "what the fuck?" and then realized it was supposed to be him and smiled!

nah saw it at 2

I was so shocked that there were people outside when the matinee was letting out yesterday. I really wanted to stand outside and wait for him, mostly just to see him and not even bug him, but the crowd was huge.

Billie's St. Jimmy is kind of terrifying. Also, as I watched the scene after Give Me Novacaine when Johnny is trying to get to Whatsername after the "concert" and St. Jimmy steps in to hand him drugs, the rumors that the Johnny/St. Jimmy thing is actually a feud Billie Joe had with himself finally seemed true to me. All I could picture was the drugged out rock star Billie stepping in between good Billie and Adrienne way back when. It was chilling.

And one last note - as much as I hate to say it, up until Billie came out during yesterday's matinee, the performance was kind of shaky from the rest of the cast. Their vocals seemed to be giving out and they didn't appear to have much energy.

Great observation and +1rep for you.

Sorry the cast was a little more bland than usual. I think yesterday's matinee was the one that was added at the last minute to make up for Sunday's cancelled-because-of-the-TimesTalk-event? If so the cast would have been looking forward to having an afternoon off only to be told "sorry, you gotta show up for work instead." :pinch: Doesn't make for having one's A-game, but still.............. :(

Very interesting. It definitely adds up to what American Idiot (in terms of human emotion and the psyche) means, and how it truly comes from within BJ and his life experience. Who knows what other things in AI may have been 'inspired' by true events, but we have no idea about it.

This is what I love about everything AI-related, it can lead to pages of pages of discussion and analysis

I bought those tickets in November, though. It was confusing to me as to why the show was being advertised as if it was added only days before.

Oh, and new epiphany: Perhaps Whatsername is unnamed because in Billie's real life, Adrienne stuck by him, so he never had a situation in which the love of his life left him, which is why she's unnamed because she didn't exist.

Or maybe its just because she's fleeting, even though the play presents her as more of a rock than the album does.

You're right, I think it was *Billie* who was added to the show. He's the one who was supposed to have the day off, and it sounds like he didn't give a flying f*ck about that. Hardest-working guy in rock'n'roll whether he's on tour or on Broadway. :)

AI (both the album and the show) is left fleeting and open-ended. Friendship saves the three male leads in the end, but their future is left as unclear and wide open as their past. Show does the album justice and then some, if you ask me.

Having trawled the past few pages looking at videos/pics and reviews I can officially say I am green with envy...

Anybody got a couple of hundred quid they could lend me to get to New York? Lol

Well, to be honest, St. Jimmy isn't exactly the most difficult role in the show. Heh. But I have to say, he does act out the hell out of the role in "Letterbomb."

My point was, he doesn't do anything half-assed. He either gives it 150% effort or he doesn't do it......"phone it in" doesn't seem to exist in his world. :)
