I still can't believe we were at the same party with Billie and Co. Too bad he was besieged (if thats the correct word) by too many people so we didnt get the chance to get that picture we've been wanting to get since we got here while others already got their like tenth picture... I met Alex, Matt, and Mikey after the matinee of American Idiot since Matt and Mikey had won lotto tickets. Emily's Army was at the matinee so we got to see them walk out of the theater which was pretty cool. After that we headed to their hotel room to hang out for a bit. Mikey and I went on a little adventure to find shot glasses for some of his friends. After that we headed over to the theater. The GDA crew had a row reserved in the mezz and it was tons of fun to be surrounded by friends. Then Tony, Alex, Dawn, and I headed down to the after party. As soon as we got there it tons and tons of people started showing up. After being there for maybe 15 mins or so I spotted Bob Gruen and I tapped Alex on the shoulder and said, "hey look over there it's Bob Gruen!" and he turned around and looked at me and said, "look right in front of you" and Billie was standing there. Seconds later I spotted Bill S and Adie. I got to chat with each one of them, but I talked to Bill S for the longest. He told me that they are planning to release a new version of the Idiot Club "any day" and the video chat that they recently did was just to test out some of the new back end stuff. Bill and I also talked about Jingle Town Recording and a few other things. It was really exciting to see Billie and other members of Green Day's crew in a social setting. So much happened I forget most of it. Members of the American Idiot cast who were there included, Rebecca, Stark, Michael Esper, Michael Mayer, and a few others. Larry Livermore also showed up, but I had already left by that time and I am kinda bummed out that I didn't get to meet him. All in all it was such an amazing day. Its sad to say that I am not sure the next time there will be an event like this or the next time that I will be able to see my Green Day friends again. That's one of my favorite moments of the night. The look on your face what exactly was the after party? Like, was it a GDC party and Billie and co. showed up?, or the other way around? The first one. And i got a front row seat on friday, so i recorded the encore. I'll put it up when i get home because the internet sort of sucks here. Oh, and the cop outside the theatre last night was so scary. He said he would try his best to make it there, and well he did! (not sure about that) And I can't be there to see the show. Well I won't be able to see the show at all. I just wanted to say HAVE A GREAT TIME everyone who's going to see the musical today! So happy for everyone who was there, I've just read a couple posts/stories about this, and the pictures in this thread as well. It looks great! Can't wait to read more stories! Now I don't just hate I'm not able to go to New York to see the musical, but also that I didn't get to go to this GDC party. I wish I could meet all of you, haha. Hopefully with the next GD tour.
