It hasn't started snowing yet. Scratch that, it just started coming down really in NYC. I don't think it will be as bad as over Christmas, not even close! I hope!

[Cross-posting from the January 9 meetup thread]

IF YOU KNOW FOR SURE YOU'LL BE JOINING US FOR THE MEET-UP AFTER THE TIMES TALK ON SUNDAY, JAN. 9: Please PM me. The lounge will keep the lights on for us even if it's a quiet night before we get there. I'm keeping an informal RSVP list going so if there is any significant change to our expected ~30something headcount, I can give the lounge manager an update. Thanks!

Now back to your regularly scheduled thread. :)

Wheee two days

As I'm completely clueless on what this is except an interview... is it something that will be recorded, or do we just hope someone brings a camera and records it themselves?

It's an interview-format talk with Billie Joe and Michael Mayer as guests, that will be hosted by NYT entertainment writer Patrick Healy. I'm sure it will be professionally recorded but what parts of it get released, if any, or whether the Times makes a transcript avaialble is subject to anyone's guess. Attendee recording of it is rude at best and illegal at worst, but as with the 92Y talk last fall a not-terrible quality amateur recording of the whole talk did get loose.

Hmm, okay, thanks. That sounds possibly hopeful

If anyone can record a live stream we will have a recording of it. I asked Matt (gdkid2010) and he said that he may be able to record it for us. The interview will be aired live via the Arts and Leisure Weekend's website: http://artsandleisureweekend.com/

That is great! I wish I could watch the stream, but cause of the stupid timezones it won't be such a good idea. Recording the live stream would be awesome! :D

Oh f*cking hell, I could do it for you except that I'm going to actually be there. My good a/v rig will be a few hundred miles away at home.
