Songs that grew on you

I didn't care too much for 21st Century Breakdown when it first came out, but now I really love it and it's probably in my 'top three Green Day albums'.

I didn't really care for Brutal Love at first. I think mostly because I was hoping to start the Tre album off with a more energetic track.

^^ Me too. I love the lyrics to Angel Blue, and you're right, it definitely would be an awesome live song. The pacing of it is so energetic and I can imagine being the crowd for that one would be awesome.

It has been played live.

It took a little bit for Brutal Love to grow on me, too. But I love it now, even though I think they should have used that as the album closer rather than the Forgotten.

And is there a video?

Although I can't relate to it much now, I can't stop listening to 2000 light years away. What a song.

Dirty Rotten Bastards (to an obscene level)

Stop When the Red Lights Flash

Little Boy Named Train

...I think it's fair to say that I never really gave the trilogy a chance

I used to hate 'Last of the American Girls'. I, for some reason, thought it sounded incredibly dull and unprogressive. One day I had my iPod on shuffle while I was on the shower and it came up so I was forced to listen to all of it and I fell in love. It's in my top twenty-five most played Green Day songs now and I adore it. I was a fool to think any less of it.

The entire Warning album. I hated the entire album, but now I listen to it all the time.

Before The Lobotomy.

I originally thought it to be one of the softer songs of 21st Century, but after a couple of listens, I find it one of the strongest.

I used to hate Extraordinary Girl and skip it every time I listened to American Idiot. Then slowly, I only started skipping the beginning, until I worked myself up to actually listening to the whole song and enjoying it. It's not necessarily my favourite now, but it's definitely grown on me, to the point where I feel like dancing along to the intro...

Scumbag.

I never really paid much attention to that song until I decided to give it a listen again a few days ago. Now I can't stop listening to it. Mike's lyrics are great.

I used to skip a lot of Shenanigans before I realised that it's all really great and underrated

Last Night On Earth. I thought it was disgustingly cheesy at first, but then I realised it was quite beautiful.

for some reason every time I listened to American Idiot, i would always finish after homecoming and not listen to whatsername. But then i finally did and that middle part i was just completely blown away and it became possibly my favorite on the album and one of favorite songs of all time. Also Last Of the American Girls because for some reason when i bought 21CB it didnt download so i kinda forgot about that song but my band is playing a gig in a month and we were choosing some covers to play and i wanted to do a Green Day song like i always do so i decided to let our guitarist choose and he choose LOTAG so i listened to it alot and remembered how cool it was and super fun to play, I just hope the crowd will like it

X Kid.

Don't get me wrong I was a fan of the song from the minute I heard it, but it's definitely solidified itself as more of a favourite recently.

No Pride. I have no idea why I used to hate it so much. It's a great song!

Also Walk Away has grown on me a lot. Fucking hated it at first but I'm making friends with it.

Basket Case. It was the first Green Day song I heard and I absolutely hated it. Took me about 4 years after that to have any interest in Green Day.

Uptight. I skipped this song everytime I had Nimrod on. But one time I couldn't skip it because I walked out of my room for a moment. I came in after half a minute or so, wondering who has such an awesome song I just hear, in a catalogue :ninja: . Then I realised it's Green Day's song :yay: . Now it's really one of my favourites

not mentioning that all are my favs :whistle
