Moffie
Whoo-hoo, new kid! I have a feeling he's going to rock...I heard he's in some band or something. I'm nervous and excited and I'm not even going to be there. Hopes St. Billie breaks some limbs!
steelthorne
Some of the best vids from the performances have been shot by members of the cast themselves. Lol yeah. and I'm sure that for something this crazy GD.com, or americanidiotonbroadway.com will post a video or something. All this is a stunt to make money anyway...I'm afraid the musical won't be around for too much longer thats what i meant, to see photos on the GD website or something. i agree that it is disrespectful to take videos on broadway and im not saying that i would take videos cause i wouldn't. all im saying is i would love to see billie on broadway....... I'm gonna like die when I see this...I can't wait
plaid ducky
Some of the best vids from the performances have been shot by members of the cast themselves. I have to ask... which videos are you talking about? As far as I know, none of the cast has video-taped an actual performance of the show. They have done backstage videos and videos of publicity/promo events but none of the actual show. Just saying.

Daughter.of.Rage.and.Love
^ I'm going to have to agree with that. I understand the whole respecting thing... but I want to see it too badly. That goes for the whole musical, not just Billie being St. Jimmy. And if there's no other way I'll see it than via bootlegs, then so be it. Some of the best vids from the performances have been shot by members of the cast themselves. This is new to me! linkylink? :

All this is a stunt to make money anyway...I'm afraid the musical won't be around for too much longer Well, I think it's about time for them to leave Broadway and do a tour around the US...AND THEN come to the UK so I (and other European fans) can see it!! =) ^ I'm going to have to agree with that. I understand the whole respecting thing... but I want to see it too badly. That goes for the musical as well, not just Billie being St. Jimmy. Yeah, the backstage ones, plus the ones of Green Day performing after the show in April with the cast rocking out behind them and in the wings. That's what I was referring to. Eric_Woods
ITA with everything, except about The Who's Tommy not being a Broadway show, it was totally a Broadway show from 1993-1995. ;D None of The Who ever joined the cast, though. lol. You know what, I'm totally wrong about that, thank you. I even knew it too, probably not the best idea to have intelligent forum conversations after being awake for like 32 hours on no sleep. I was being my usual insomniac and my brain was...shall we say a bit fuzzy. Michael Cerveris played him didn't he, sheesh, after getting some sleep I'm honestly embarrassed at my complete lack of thinking skills.

Bastard of 1967
I'm afraid the musical won't be around for too much longer It's been extended once already, but if you follow the gross stats on broadwayworld.com you'll see that they've been trending downward since the summer. My guess/fear is that it won't be extended beyond this current (second) run....and I have mixed feelings about that. On the one hand, bj and MM succeeded in bringing a punk rock opera to Broadway. For several months it was one of the top 10 to 12 grossing shows. No, it didn't generate "overwhelming" results (blech, Addams Family did better) but it did do quite respectably well and beat by a mile a couple of other more traditional musicals that were originally thought to be sure-shot hits. In that regard I'd want to see it stick around a little longer, it deserves it. On the other hand, once it closes on Broadway they'll tour it and folks who otherwise wouldn't have come to NYC to see it will get a chance to see it closer to home. That show had helluva downward spiral when he called out for a little bit one week. Like I said before, the show isn't SENSATIONAL in money-making like Wicked and The Lion King have been doing forever but it's not as bad as, say, Next to Normal. It's kinda in the middle-ish but I hope this will give the show even more attention and can at least get through January.

Potentially large amounts of people would love to see Billie Joe as St. Jimmy - makes sense to give them what they want.

GDM
The musical is currently scheduled to close January 2011, it's only a few months anyway. I have a feeling it will stay open until then. Don't worry.
