Jesus Christ Supermarket would be such a nice title...

Also, is it my idea or Billie Joe is heavily influenced by Christianity? (Jesus Of Suburbia, Jesus Christ Supermarket, East Jesus Nowhere, Mother Mary, Bullet in A Bible, Nimrod and more)

Aaaaaaw you religious freak! :shifty:

One regret? Insomniac was going to be called "jesus christ supermarket". JCSM is a much better title. Oh well..

Funny he tweeted that. Like he's still regretting not calling Insomniac JCSM. As soon as I read it, I thought "Billie Joe.. what are you thinking.. naming the next album JCSM, or what?.."

Especially the 'Oh well..' part made me think that. It is a great title, so why not.

He has said in some interview last year (I forgot which one. It was on a tv show. The interview where he showed how a water bong or something like that worked ) that he has kind of a fetish with Christianity, haha.

But I do think he is interested in Christianity, yes.

Influence isn't the word for it. Curious interest bordering on obsession, maybe.

Me too. I believe I had heard him saying in an interview that he is an atheist.

So he's an atheist obsessed with religious themes? :P

If (if, not agreeing nor denying) he is , that doesn't mean he can't be interested by it.

He said he was agnostic...which is very different from atheist. But I don't see why his religious beliefs are really any of our concern..

I'm not sure they're anti-religious, they're just not pro-religious.

For the interview on the flip side of the Look For Love single that has that interview with Billie they ask him about what he learns and school and stuff and Billie says something along the lines of that he learns prayers and to love god and stuff so I would say that what he learned in school kind of just stuck with him through life.....its a possibility.

Calm down, no one was starting a crusade to convert him. Just discussing the reasoning for a title like Jesus Christ Supermarket, or the names Jesus of Suburbia and Christian.

Sorry if somebody already said it but; 'Jesus Christ Supermarket' was a direct play on 'Jesus Christ Superstar'

considering his tattoo I'm guessing Billie really likes it.

I would not call them "anti-religion" they just have a sense of humor and wary about it, just like cast of JCS did.

I think he's said in interviews since about how his views had changed. most recently there was that interview where all 3 said they went to the baptism of a friend's, and they couldn't really believe the stuff the preist was saying.

I wasn't trying to start anything  and I am calm... maybe you just read what I wrote with different intent behind it? I'll assume that

I think it's this. Plus the idea of religion being sold wholesale like tins of baked beans.

Also, One of My Lies. "I used to pray at night" and the rest of that part.

(just kind of adding that to the conversation, not really a direct reaction to you)

No one has said it, but I thought that was kind of really obvious, haha.

As for the tattoo though, I remember some interview where he said he saw the logo on a friend's album and really liked the logo so he got it tattooed, without really knowing what the album was. And that it was like one of his first tattoos.

I used to think when they would talk about it being called JCSM that it was a play on MMs album Anti Christ superstar  me and my brain :shy:

 I looked at Billies listed followers and 20 of them are the SAME person...
