Daughter.of.Rage.and.Love
I've seen them four times, but best concert... yep, that's going to have to be Pinkpop. The day itself, leading up to the Green Day concert, was really nice. I enjoyed a couple of artists with my friends. About two and a half, three hours before Green Day would start, I got into the golden circle, and thanks to some GDC Dutchies (thaaaank you. again) I got a third row spot (later during the concert I'd move to second row). The waiting for Green Day was already quite enjoyable, everyone was nice, and the general mood of everyone was real good. The concert itself, it was just awesome. The atmosphere was great, it was their first show back on tour and you could see that at least Mike and Billie were happy to be back (I didn't look much at Tre, and when I did he looked a bit mad, but idk. ), and well ... it's a Green Day concert, that's always great. I sang and danced and fistpumped along with everything like I was crazy, and it was awesome. I obviously can't forget that I got to sing 2/3 of Longview  and even though that didn't go exactly perfect, it was the best moment of my life. To top it all off, they played Wake Me Up When September Ends partly full band, which I didn't expect AT ALL (it was the first time they've done that this tour, full band), and that was amazing as well During the encores I could barely stand anymore because I was so exhausted of everything, but it was the best concert ever. BUT the concert in Rotterdam was pretty great as well. It was both my first concert and my first Green Day concert, so it was all new and it had some sort of, I don't know, special thing to it. I got a second row spot, Billie wore three of my things (two sunglasses and a fluffy pink headband), and in the acoustic encore he played WMUWSE on my request That was the second time they played that this tour, the only other time they'd played it before was over a month ago in the US, once. It's been played at nearly every show ever since. But yeah... Pinkpop still beats that. Even without the Longview thing, it was just better, for some reason. Comedy & Tragedy
No question. I've only seen them twice. The first time (21st October, Dublin), I was way back, and I only went with my brother. Great concert, but nothing compared to Marlay Park (June 23rd). When it was first announced, I went nuts. Marlay Park is less than a mile from my house, I'd go there all the time when I was younger, and Green Day were gonna be playing there The day before the show, the Irish GDCers went out to Marlay and got to watch the soundcheck, and get drumsticks! I spent the whole day of the concert with people from GDC, who are all awesome The concert was amazing. Joan Jett was a great opener (Paramore...not so much ). It was the only show on the tour that Billie wore the red shirt for, and my my did he look good ...I was at the barrier at Mikes corner, and I had so much interaction with the two of them. All that interaction paid off, when I got picked for Longview, which I wanted more than anything else in the world. I never thought it would actually happen, but it did Having that kind of contact with the band can be compared to nothing. There are times when I still don't believe it happened The next few songs after Longview are nothing but a daze to me, but none the less it was epic. When Billie made that speech about how much Green Day means to him, I couldn't help but start crying. And the rain, it was just so beautiful. It was the best night of my life, and I never take it for granted
.ShesLostInHerDreams.
I've only seen them twice... last year October 7th, in Berlin, and this year May 30th, Hanover. And the second one was my best one <3 beeecause: I had standing tickets (in Berlin I had seat tickets, because my mum was there with me ^^), I had enough time to prepare for it, I was standing in the second row, my friend was with me, and we had an amazing day. Yup. In Berlin everything was very unplanned... so I found 1 day before the show was, people which took us with them.. so I didn't know exactly if I will be able to go there, because it was that unplanned^^ because of this fact I didn't had any time to prepare myself and my mind for it... and I had school at that day ^^ soo.. this concert, was great, of course, but the concert (and the day) in Hanover was more special for me. I was more excited, and had a lot of fun with my friend and with some of these people there (: there was these special feeling, you know? ^^ I hadn't that feeling in Berlin (: So, my best Green Day concert was in Hanover, May 30th (2010). xpoprocks&kittycatsx
My best Green Day concert I've been to was probably Lollapalooza. I only went to 2 so far, but at Lollapalooza, I was actually in the mosh pit, I saw them perfectly, and Billie, Mike, possibly Tre, and Joey all saw me and smiled at me! My first concert last year was good but compared to this year, I had horrible seats and they didnt see me at all, I just wish I couldve stayed in the mosh pit during the whole show and not just an hour. YehItsRyan
Although I have been to only one Green Day gig I have seen Muse. Green Day on the 21st June in Glasgow was awesome for several reasons, the people I met at queuing were amazing and I talked to some of them. During the gig you would be singing and jumping with people that you didn't even know which is good, and Green Day fans in general are awesome people . The whole experience left me in awe, it was that good. Muse didn't really leave much of an impression on me, where as Green Day just impressed from the first note right through to the last
ScreamsInSilence815
The September 9th, 2005 show will always be the best for me because it was my first concert ever. Yes, I'm very happy to say that the boys popped my concert cherry. Seriously, though, all I remember was my stomach literally doing flips when we drove up outside the Civic Center (now the XL Center) and saw all those people outside in GD stuff. I got to take the day off from school and my aunt came here to get me and my mom and bring us down to CT for the show. Once they walked out on stage I couldn't breathe for a few minutes. My mom had her hand on my arm because I think she thought I was going to pass out or something. The whole time, I just couldn't believe I was there. My aunt got me the tickets for my birthday and I seriously cried when I opened her card at my party and saw the tickets. I cried. In front of all of my friends. So yeah....it was pretty amazing. That one will always stick out as the best for me.
Daughter.of.Rage.and.Love
Ha. That's sweet. I didn't know you got up and sang at Pinkpop. Pretty cool indeed. I'll have to check that out. Alan86
Id like to say manchester Halloween 2009 or wembley stadium but there is just something special about Green Day playing in your own country so I'm going to say Marlay Park, Dublin. They rocked the gaff.
Katherine
I've been to three of their shows, and all have been absolutely amazing, but my favorite would have to be Hartford, CT on the 12th last week. I can't even begin why it was so perfect...I was so close to them, the setlist was phenomenal, the pit was completely worshiping them. You could really tell that they were loving playing and the energy was great. And Tre's little smiles at me just made me melt.
Pedestrian9394
I've only been to one, but still. It was on August 9th, 2010 in Atlanta, GA. It was "Hot as fuck" according to Billie Joe, the people in the pit were assholes, and I got sparkles dumped all over me. But the whole thing was love. Every minute of it was perfect, from the atmosphere to Billie Joe's flawless voice during When It's Time and his bashing of Sarah Palin. xD It was funny, loud, explosive, and just pure intensity. I cried the next day when I got back to Wisconsin. Luckily I have the whole show on my iPod so that I can relive it whenever I want. =D Plus......we got to listen to Billie talk about mustard during the soundcheck. No one else that went to any other show can say THAT.

Pedestrian9394
Do tell more Well, when we were waiting in line, you could hear the soundcheck PERFECTLY. And all of the sudden, completely out of nowhere, Billie yells into the microphone, "Tre, how would you compare that to mustard????" And everyone was like, Whaaaat? Mommy's Little Nightmare
For the longest time, I said Albany 05 because it was my first Green Day concert. But I just... can't say that and mean it anymore. Hartford. August 12th. The setlist was incredible, I met up with so many Green Day friends I've made along the way over the last year and a half- and everything just went right. Actually thinking back on that concert brings tears to my eyes. It was just... fucking amazing. Well, when we were waiting in line, you could hear the soundcheck PERFECTLY. And all of the sudden, completely out of nowhere, Billie yells into the microphone, "Tre, how would you compare that to mustard????" And everyone was like, Whaaaat? That's amazing! XD My only real funny Billie soundcheck story was from last year. He was all "You wanna hear my little kid voice?" and everyone was like "Yeah!" so in this adorable tiny little voice, he goes "But my beawd itches weally weally bad!" Of course, everyone awwed. LinziLetterbomb
I have been to see them twice, once on Halloween last year in the MEN Arena and once on June 16th this year at the LCCG. I think the best one is probably June 16th because it was outdoor, it was a much bigger venue which means a better atmosphere, i was like three rows from the stage which was unbelievable...and the setlist was a hell of a lot better! xjernpqvrnbfv
My best Green Day concert was at Wembley. The whole trip to London was just so unreal and exciting. I met some really cool people and the show was epic in my opinion. Meemmoorriieeeeess
TaylorKlinke
My best Green Day concert was the only one I've been to. Hahaa. In Fargo of July 2009. But I'm not sure if anything could surpass that day. A meet and greet before the concert. I got to shake Billie Joe's hand. And he said he hopes I have an awesome time at my first GD concert. The only way it could get better, is if I got on stage. Or meet Green Day again....I'd like to meet them somewhere random sometime.
marie.
Hartford, August 12th. The setlist, how close my seats were, I got a bit of "band interaction" and I got a letter to my hero. All of that sealed the deal for it taking the Albany show's place. I still kind of get misty-eyed talking about it. The whole experience seemed so surreal and dream-like, even if it sounds kind of lame to say that. I couldn't believe I was seeing them for the second time on one tour, that my family had been willing to drive to Connecticut and book a hotel room so I could see my favorite band again. Just...so many dreams came true that night.
