heartgrenade27
I kept mishearing "Dislogic and smut" in FOD as "Dislodged chicken smut". Makes a little sense if you don't know what smut is. Bastard of 1969
My misheards 1. On wild one "She gave up on Jesus for living on penis/peanuts" 2. In "X-Kid" i hear "Like a kick in the hill"
scatteredminority
I used to sing "What St. Jimmy means for me" instead of "This life like dream ain't for me".
Iva
For the first two years of listening to Green Day (1995-1997), I had pirate cassettes of Dookie and Insomniac and pirate CDs of Kerplunk! and, for a short time, nimrod. with no lyrics, so a lot of hilarity ensued. These were initial mondgrens when I was 11/12 and was not speaking such good English yet: "No time, no sex, no words around" - When I Come Around "Rusting too control" - Basket Case "Techno lives, I close my eyes" - Longview "Did it bring you soda that got you lose your mind - Having A Blast These, sadly, persisted until I got the original CDs: "I suck a carrot and I give myself an 1-up" - Bab's Uvula Who? - that would be one heck of a 2D video game. Billie's goal would be to suck a bunch of carrots to obtain an extra life. "Well, you found my budget and bee, my special pen" - In The End These are mondegrens from my household: "Sweet magic until my is deep" - my mom's interpretation of the She chorus. That's some wicked p0rn. Trying to remember more...

Certified Nimrod
I always thought in Extraordinary Girl, the lyric was "she sees a mirror of herself, and admits she wants to sell to anyone willing to buy." I also heard "you've been thinking about ditching me" in When I Come Around as "you've been thinking about b*tching to me." xD
~ Walking Contradiction
I thought it was "and you went over the edge of choking" in X-Kid I realised today that it's "joking"
R_Z-Log
Don't know if anyone already said this, but for years when I listened to Longview I thought he was saying "I locked the door to my hotel" instead of "I locked the door to my own cell." I still say hotel when I sing along. Can't help it at this point!
fromdecimateddreams
I can never figure out if he says "pities and soda" or "bitters and soda" in Brutal Love. I always hear pities, but the lyric book says "bitters" so I don't know. I also used to hear "buttsex, buy me a train wreck" the first several times I listened to it. timbojones
when I first got Nimrod in 2005 (aged 15) I thought he sung in Jinx "a slap on the wrist a stab in the back, tell Jimmy I've been a bad boy," OMG SUPER GREEN DAY CONSPIRACY joking about a rock opera about Jimmy in an interview in 1993(94?) name dropping in Jinx and then releasing american idiot in 2004!?!?!?!?!?!? sadly it was just me being a 'tard

belinda jane
i'm still unsure about 'nice guys finish last'. is it, "when you run out of gas" or "when you are the outcast?"
Hermione
i'm still unsure about 'nice guys finish last'. is it, "when you run out of gas" or "when you are the outcast?" The chorus is "When you are the outcast". Although it does say "You're running out of gas" in the first verse.

amdr182
When I first heard X-Kid, I thought Billie sang "Like a kick in the ass", but later I realised it is "Like a kick in the head".
OhTheGuilt.
Well english isn't my first language and I was too lazy to read the lyrics, so when I was 13yo I thought that "Basket Case" had to do with the actual sport.
beejeezee
When I first heard X-Kid, I thought Billie sang "Like a kick in the ass", but later I realised it is "Like a kick in the head". head and ass are very similar.

Lannister
For some reason when I was really little I thought "Going to Pasalacqua" actually read "Going to Placenta". I have no idea how, as a kid, I knew what a Placenta was.
