Hermione
My friend thought Boulevard of Broken Dreams was I wore cologne rather than I walk alone I always think of that when I listen to the song, and if I sing along then I sing that instead. Same with "broken gnomes" in Welcome To Paradise.
Little Girl Little One
In the Foxies song "Red Tide", for the line "or your red tide?", I thought they were singing "Hurry up and die."
-Billiejoezee-
In the Foxies song "Red Tide", for the line "or your red tide?", I thought they were singing "Hurry up and die." I thought it said "Oreo red tie"
Heather.
I always think of that when I listen to the song, and if I sing along then I sing that instead. Same with "broken gnomes" in Welcome To Paradise. LMFAO! "I wore cologne" just sounds like Blink-182 lyrics a la What's My Age Again... isn't that "It was a Friday night, I wore cologne".... which, by the way, I always thought WAS "I walk alone" Wow. Green Day Blink 182 lyrical mixup MINDFUCK.
LauraG
In JOS, when it says 'to the light of masochists' I thought it was 'to the light of massive kiss'

Green Day Blink 182 lyrical mixup MINDFUCK. I actually didn't know whether it was "walk alone" or "wore cologne" in that song! Of course the other thing that has to be sung at all times is "Do you know the enemy, RAW HAM". That just is the lyric now. In JOS, when it says 'to the light of masochists' I thought it was 'to the light of massive kiss' This is a great one
Nobody Likes Cam
In Hitchin' A Ride I always thought at the end, when Billie Joe supposedly says "Hey birthday boy say hey" he was *possibly* choking on something (a massive hairball). That was a little pathetic. "I wore cologne" just sounds like Blink-182 lyrics a la What's My Age Again... isn't that "It was a Friday night, I wore cologne".... which, by the way, I always thought WAS "I walk alone" I always thought that, too and then I looked up the lyrics
Heather.
Raised in the city with a hail of lies go tell your boyfriend that we've been victimized. I always thought that was "halo of lights" not "hail of lies" This goes back to Billie Joe not caring much about enunciation. Why should he, it's rock n' roll ... I mean, a huge part of me would love to really be able to hear every word as it truly should be, because I do think it hits you harder (this mostly goes for casual fans and listeners who haven't read the CD booklet 1000 times like some of us, and don't realize what quality lyrics they're missing out on), but then again, it's always super fun to listen to a GD song for the first time on a new album, think "That's an awesome song! I wonder what the hell he's saying!" and then the whole discovery process in reading the lyrics is like a beautiful adventure for me

Daughter.of.Rage.and.Love
This isn't something I hear wrong because I very well know the real lyrics and hear the real lyrics as well, but whenever in East Jesus Nowhere Billie sings "ain't this uniform so flattering" I can't help thinking "ain't this unicorn so flattering" and it just won't get out of my head.
DoodleBob
At the end of 'Horseshoes and Hangrenades' instead of "G-L-O-R-I-A! G-L-O-R-I-A! G-L-O-R-I-A! G-L-O-R-I-A!" I thought it was "She's got a whole lotta eggs! She's got a whole lotta eggs! She's got a whole lotta eggs! She's got a hold of me!" xD
Malleus
This isn't as crazy as some of the other posts in this thread, but in When I Come Around I always thought he sings "make sure you do it right" instead of "make sure you do it wise". Stormy Haze
This isn't as crazy as some of the other posts in this thread, but in When I Come Around I always thought he sings "make sure you do it right" instead of "make sure you do it wise". I'm aware of what the real lyrics are, but now, whenever I sing that line, I sing "I'm having sex with Mike"! I can't get it out of my head, fucking Billie

classof12
To me it happens with "Static Age" every time I listen to it I understand " I can't see a thing inthe video, I can't hear a sound on the radio EN SERIO in the static age" (which means (REALLY) in Spanish)

Haha, you've effectively ruined that line of EJN for me. I'll always picture fluffy unicorns now. Me too . And I have to sing "How now brown cow" instead of "When I come around" at least once during the song. Of course! I scream those lines like there's no tomorrow during live shows. But when I'm just singing along with my friends at home, I get some unsure looks when I start singing about sex with Mike.
Nzap
In American Idiot where it says "All across the alien nation," I used to think that it said "All across the idiot nation." Double blow! JDookie
In Cigarettes & Valentines I used to understand Saint Jimmy instead of "siren screaming"before reading the correct lyrics. (and, to be honest, I clearly understand Saint Jimmy right now )
blonde26
in viva la gloria when he sings "You made your bed in salad days Amongst the ruin" i always thought and hear "you make potato salad days amongst the ruin" also in homecoming i thought "Jesus is filling out paperwork now At the facility on east 12th st" was "jesus filling out paperwork now ACABAD CITY on east 12th street"
