Daughter.of.Rage.and.Love
It sounds awful in the metre. truly misheard lyric: in Having a Blast, 'did you lose it in a hateful fire'. For the longest time I've liked that metaphore but wondered what the hell it actually was supposed to be, until I got GDRB when I found out that's actually not the lyrics. Trina
My brother used to think, in Burnout Billie Joe sung, 'I've lived inside this pencil case'. Amazing.

LilyMarie
This thread is made of awesome. "Somebody keep my pants I think they're falling off" made me giggle hysterically as did "raw ham" - I'm totally singing it that way in Rock Band from now on. I also thought it was 'The televisions an extortionist' - and I think it makes sense, dangit. And in Minority I was sure it was 'a free for all, fuck 'em all you are your own side.' You know, like even if no one takes with you or agrees with you, you're on your own side thinking for yourself...? I was pretty disappointed to find out I was wrong. I still sing it my way. Boston
I never knew that the lyrics to Are We the Waiting were "The rage and love, the story of my life," until I heard Stark Stand's version in the musical. I always just mumbled that line.

Daughter.of.Rage.and.Love
Finally finished reading the entire thread! To this day, I am still unsure about the lyrics in FOD. Does he say "I'm taking pleasure in the doubts I've passed to you." or "I'm taking pleasure in the masochistic youth." ? Because I always thought it was "I'm taking pleasure in the doubts I've passed to you", but a friend of mine told me about the masochistic youth lyrics she read on a lyrics site, and now I'm not so sure about it. I've been singing it my way for years, and I'll feel so weird if i realize it's been wrong this whole time. And I'll feel even weirder if he takes pleasure in the masochistic youth. XD I always heard "I'm taking pleasure in a thousand hits to you". Which does make sense, although a bit weird-ish. Didn't find out the real lyrics until I saw them in GDRock Band ^ He says I'm taking pleasure in announcing this to you. I always thought BIllie Joe said gooooooooooooo dieeeeeeeeeeeee at the end of F.O.D., but i guess its Good Night. I thought it was goodbyyyyeeeee... I still think he sings goodbye, whatever Rock Band may say.

Isabel
I'm telling you, it's "pork chop, all of her favourite things" instead of "boxed up, all of her favourite things" and "my hair is shaking in my ass" instead of "my hair is shagging in my eyes"
