Spike Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 In Westbound Sign, the first verse used to sound like "Blah blah, bla bla bla bla bla bla-ah blah blah blah bla bla blah blah blah blah blah blah bla blah blah blah bla bla, westbound sign" to me. It is! Quote
Spike Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 In Jesus of Suburbia, I thought it was "I'd rather god be in the bathroom stall," instead of "I'd read the graffitti in the bathroom stall," and I was like wtf is that supposed to even mean? That's a terrifying mental image! Quote
Spike Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 I thought it was that for the longest time (years, in fact), and just assumed it was some sort of metaphor for the protagonist wishing that God was a more accessible being/concept. The idea of finding God in a bathroom stall instead of in a church always cracked me up (and it still does, even though I know the real lyric now). That actually works really well as a lyric, it's a shame that's not it. To be honest the image in my head was of god struggling to have a poo... What is it with that song? For ages I thought the opening line was "I'm the son of Rachel Love" and decided that was Whatsername's real name. 1 Quote
JOE THE X-KID Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 "The Modern worlds just a lie" but it's actually "the Motto was just a lie" Quote
ing Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 I thought it was "drunk"???! I just looked in the lyric booklet, and it does say dumb Quote
Spike Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 It took me until 15 damn minutes ago to realise Welcome To Paradise doesn't contain the line "Another orchard slaps a lap dance on his arm." 2 Quote
The Disappearing Boy Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 In Westbound Sign, the first verse used to sound like "Blah blah, bla bla bla bla bla bla-ah blah blah blah bla bla blah blah blah blah blah blah bla blah blah blah bla bla, westbound sign" to me. A bit like Stuck With Me: 'AOIGJ;RLGJ'jfjdkegijw EIFNEGLW'G KFWefpiwmpf and it's alright!' Quote

Catpiss Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 I remember I thought in "one of my lies" that he said "it was a tragic case of marijuana tears" instead of "it was a tragic case of my reality" Quote
georgielikesgreenday Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 In Brain Stew, I used to think the words "I'm counting sheep but running out" was something far ruder!!! Quote
georgielikesgreenday Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 In Basket Case I used to think the lyrics "Am I just paranoid?I'm just stoned" was "Am I just paranoid? In a way!". Quote
Anaïs. Posted February 20, 2014 Posted February 20, 2014 I have a classmate who, in Minority, sings "You are your own sight!" instead of "You're on your own side!" It actually works pretty fucking well. Quote
