Although I can assume that these two skanks represent the shoulder angel/devil. even though they look the same. - Gloria singing along to the song. just. no. We don’t want to see your teeth - a “house” in the middle of the desert. Maybe if she was living in a RV, then I could understand. I disagree. I liked Gloria a lot in this. I still like the 21 Guns video, but after seeing it and giving it time, Christian (oh god, what a fail in casting >: ) and Gloria get a little too posy and it seems like there is less acting. Sure, it's a music video, but with JOS, the characters seemed more real and had flare/personality. Gloria doesn't look like a bitch. She looks like she just woke up and is bored/annoyed by the dancers. At least she seems more human now. Skanks...really? What the fuck is your problem? That's a little much. Anyways, I liked the corny dance moves of the dancers; I thought it was cool, and they kept the video flowing whereas the pace would have been slow and people would have probably compared Gloria's scenes to the unreleased Whatsername video without them. hmn. I like the idea of them being illusions, too. It sort of fits with the whole desert thing in regards to hallucinating, which, by the way, is probably symbolic (...as in the setting, not hallucinating...oh wait a minute, that might be something ). You guys are expecting way too much realism in a song that is an exaggeration to begin with; this is a music video, not real life. Try thinking of it like you would when looking at a painting; the artist puts things in there for a reason, usually, and it's no mistake that it's there. I highly doubt Marc Webb was all, "Huh you know what I feel like going to the desert where it's fucking hot as hell so let's just throw shit out there and we'll hire some dancers lolz cuz I wunt some entertainment. " Yeah, no. Oh, and I LOVED HER LIP-SYNCING. Oh my god. You're insulting her teeth, but Billie Joe's aren't straight. Why is that such a big deal? That's a little shallow, honestly... All of the AI videos seemed to have a theme to them aside the music (with the exception of the WMUWSE video), though I can't quite say what it is. The colors, maybe? With these, they're all very diverse, and I've liked what I've seen for the most part, but it seems like you lose that whole "world" that you usually get into when Green Day releases videos for an album. I wish they'd try to incorporate stronger symbols from the motifs in the album or something, but it seems like the only thing that is continuous is the goldfish...and the fact that Gloria is a freaking pack rat and apparently dislikes cleaning up her tables. Then why put them in the video if they're not ~meant to be good? They're so bloody annoying. Because that would be boring. She's allowed to voice her opinions as many times as she wants. . Ive seen about 10 posts saying how sexy they all look in the video and thats starting to get annoying as well. So i think we should learn to take some constructive criticism Having an opinion is fine, but she could at least apply the constructive part if she's going to keep going on about it (like I'm starting to...shit). I'm glad they chose Lisa again for Gloria, great casting. Anyway, the two dancers that tagged along Gloria throughout the video was interesting. Personally, they didn't annoy me at all. The setting in the desert was fitting. And I was pleased to see the band included in the video. Oh and I rather liked the part where she blew the car with her fingers. It just looked really cool, and the shots of her expression after it blows up were nice. Oh, and Maddy, I'm not trying to pick on you, I swear. I can't find the page you said it because my internet is going down the shitter, but here: "Okay, I like girls but having half naked girls in a Green Day video is taking it a bit too far." Were you referring to Gloria with her pajamas? See, I didn't have a problem with that. It seemed tasteful to me, it wasn't like they were having her shake her ass in front of the screen or try to come off as provocative; the closest thing to that was her leg sticking up when she was bathing...in her clothes. ...unless you were talking about something else. OK, the video, I have to admit, has grown on me. Still not one of my favourites, but I still like it. I can see how the blonds fit in with it now. Personally, I think the emphasis of this video is that she is the Last Of The American Girls. That comes out in her being alone in the desert, the only 2 other girls are fake blonds who do stupid dances in high heels. My only, well, one of my dilemmas is that the focus is taken off the lyrics to the song. The actual video gets too distracting, and as I was watching, I felt like I was too busy staring at the video, even if it did annoy me. Just an opinion, feel free to disagree. There are 3 members in this band and they barley get any camera time. Tre and Mike barley got any close ups and Jason was just there. Too much Billie. I see exactly what you mean. It's too much of a video, instead of a music video, like you said, it distracts off the song. That was really bad explained, sorry. And on the Billie being too much in the video; I guess that's bound to happen. He's the lead singer, and in a video it sort of makes more sense to have the singer in the picture a lot, because they sing the song and all. Not saying I wouldn't like to see the rest of the band in it more, but well, yeah. Sorry, I really don't seem to be able to say anything with sense today. In the old videos the whole band got plenty of screentime. Word. I know that Billie Joe is seen as the "main character" in Green Day, as he's the frontman and does the most talking in interviews. I do wish that we'd see more of Jason, Mike and Tre in the videos. They are part of the band too, and not just Billie Joe. And yes, he does look decent in the videos and he's nice to look at for some but the same goes for Mike and Tre, right?
