Lou-Lou-Cool
I really like it! But nothing can beat GD itself. xD I agree I think some of the songs are epic, 21 Guns is something pretty special but I don't think any of the arrangments beat the original. They have done a super job, when you think about what could happen, such as the fiasco that is We Will Rock You!

NothingButYourImagination
I love the album. It never fails to bring me to tears everytime I listen to it. I think that the actors did an amazing job and they've really got some talent. The way the songs have been arranged is beautiful. From the beginning of American Idiot and how epic and massive it sounds, to the end of Whatsername and how bittersweet and reflective it sounds; I think they did Green Day justice and didn't fuck it up at all. And I cannot listen to When It's Time (Green Day version) without sobbing like a baby. It's just so sweet and loving; I just can't keep myself together when I hear it. But listening to this album makes me wanna see the musical again and I just enjoy it so much.
1039slappygirl
I want the album, damnit! Every time I go to the mall I ask the guy at the CD's store if the album's already there, but to this day it isn't u.u I have the whole album downloaded at my computer, excepting Boulevard of Broken Dreams' track, but it's not the same
ihaveapenisbitch!
The whole thing is amazing, the arrangements on it, the talent I mean mashing together Last of the American Girls and Extraordinary Girl is just genus. The voices match everything, its just kinda how I imagined the musical to turn out. I love the fact that it IS different, if it was just like the AI album I would have been disappointed. It would have been disappointing to just have them singing the way it is on the album it would have been like freaking karaoke. I mean the cast have done a phenomenal job, the voices and the emotion in it is absolutely incredible. They have gone way over my expectations, they really have just done something incredible with the songs.
Salmonator.
I used to haaaate most of the album. Recently, I've been growing more and more into it. I love it a lot now, I'm going to go ahead and say I enjoy their version of Favorite Son more than Green Day's. I love in Give Me Novacaine where they shout 'AH NOVACAINE' and I just love that part. 1039slappygirl
It's great! I love the mix they did with LOTAG and She's a Rebel, Whatsername and Last Night On Earth are amazing, and WMUWSE almost made me cry It was definitely worth traveling to the other side of the city to buy it and spending 30 dollars on it
AilzMacD
i love the song when its time on that album, i was wondering is anyone new the strumming pattern for it cause i cant get it right when i play guitar.
Ellenkc
Whenever I get songs off of AI or the 21CB tracks that are in this in my head, I'm always hearing the cast version. That's weird seeing as I haven't listened to their versions nearly as much as Green Days
CoreyGregory
I think this whole Broadway thing is Brilliant, but when ever I put my ipod, itunes, ect., on Green Day shuffle, I always skip these when they come up. I wanna hear Billie,Tre, or Mike's voice when I hear Green Day!

WalkingContradictionPL
I like this CD, my favourite is When It's Time (GD version). Some time actors sing with very good diction. I prefer Billie's version. But at all it's Ok
GlennRobinson
OK I get it - It's something different, something new, a way for them to bring this album to life. I know all these kids put tons of work into this and I feel bad saying anything negative but - the voices on these songs are nauseating. They take the life right out of Billie's lyrics and sound comical in some parts (Know Your Enemy). I cringe when I hear him sing "don't wanna be an American idiot". Seriously I cringe. I'm sure this what a blast to work on and I can see why they did it but come on, let American Idiot be what it is - an amazing album. Just leave it alone and move on! whatshername0303
I love the album! My favorites songs are When It Time (the 2 versions), 21 Guns and the mix of LOTAG & She's A Rebel. But does anyone know why it's writing inside about a track 23 and Good Riddance ? I have only 22 tracks...and not Good riddance

"Good Riddance" was at one point going to be on the OCR but was removed for GD's WIT. However, you can download a live version of the song from the website: http://www.americanidiotonbroadway.com/download/ Granted, it's not the original Broadway cast like the OCR but it's better than nothing. *_Whatsername_*
I'm sorry- I don't like it. I suppose most of that's to do with the way it sounds. I mean, I appreciate the fact that they've all got great voices and respect that fact that the put a lot of hard work into it... but the songs sound a bit too gospelly for me. I would much rather listen to Green Day. It's just as simple as that really, I kind of feel that they take the edge of their music a bit. As their actors they can really put themselves into another character. However, it still doesn't seem to be delivered with quite the same emotion as Billie-Joe gives, as he wrote the songs and truly understands them from the heart. Kitteh
I think it would be brilliant if I didn't love Green Day as much as I do. Like someone said, the songs don't sound bad, but I'd much rather hear the actual band playing it ^_^ I've had When It's Time on repeat for the last two days. ._. It's just so good. Cym
I'm such an idiot, I ordered what I thought was the cast album off Amazon, and when I got it I realized it wasn't the full album, it was only selections from the full album, which is really stupid. I plan to get the full album eventually though, because I fully enjoy Too Much Too Soon, Favorite Son, and Before the Lobotomy. It kind of broke my heart to hear a different version of 21 Guns and Whatsername, but the first time I ever heard anything from the cast was a video I saw, where they filmed the recording of Green Day and the AI cast singing 21 Guns, and it was the version where Billie is singing the guys' parts. I absolutely loved it, and their talent is phenomenal. It still irks me to hear someone other than Green Day singing some of my favorite songs, but I'm trying to keep and open mind and appreciate the effort and talent that went into it. With that said, the girl who plays the Extraordinary Girl has got a VOICE on her! I was in shock.
jensername
It's really not that bad actually. "Letterbomb" sounds fucking sweet. The main chick who did the vocals is such an amazing singer!! Also, The "When It's Time" cover is pretty freaking epic. However, the dude who did the vocals for "Know Your Enemy" completey screwed it up! It's just way too much.. Rosie May
I keep getting this version of LNOE in my head lately, I love it but I think it would sound better without all of the extra voices in the background, especially during the guitar solo, it's too Glee-esque for my liking
