Armatage Shanks. "I must insist on being a pessimist. I'm a loner in a catastrophic mind"

No One Knows- I hate having to make decisions that are supposed to determine the rest of my life

"Shut your mouth 'cause you're talking to much and I don't give a damn anyway

You always seem to be stepping in shit and all you really do is complain"

Not to sound like a whiny teenager or anything but why doesn't my dad shut the fuck up when it's perfectly fucking obvious I give no fucks about whatever the fuck he's talking about???

You ever just want to scream? Blast LYG instead, works great.

Love the idea of this thread.

Who Wrote Holden Caulfield is currently how I feel.

Trying to get motivated to make a change but just can't find that motivation.

I wish this song had been around when I was 14/15 years old.

I would blast Dookie songs in my room when my family was going through some stuff but LYG really would have hit the nail on the fucking head.

I had to laugh because just this morning I was blasting Let Yourself Go because my son was being crabby and complaining and not cooperating and I was trying not to let it drag me down.

"Having a Blast", "Burnout", "Basket Case"... Bits and pieces of just about every Dookie song.

Oh man I can't choose just one. There's so much going on at the moment for me and Green Day is really helping me deal with it. Uno has definitely come at the right time.

"Kill the DJ" because right now I'm feeling pressured by the constant bombardment of information I'm taking in everyday at University while trying to keep an open mind, sticking by my beliefs, and trying to be socially responsible.

"Rusty James" because my old friends from my first 3 years from High School and I have become very distant and they resent me for it. Meanwhile from Dookie: "Emenius Sleepus" because my best friend is refusing to mature; I don't mean this in a lame way (I still act like a kid) but my issue is that hes ignoring his responsibilities just so he can try to recapture our senior year.

"Sweet 16" because it paints the picture of my first real love so perfectly "Brown skinned girl, that I dream about a long long time now from the Midwest to the beach." I haven't seen her since graduation and this makes me feel close to her again. "Fell For You" reminds me of the desperate infatuation I had for this her too. "Stray Heart" does the same.

The last song I could probably relate to of the top of my head is "Troublemaker", because their are some gorgeous females I talk to in my classes that are so damn attractive it drives me wild.

Platypus, my best friend sold my fucking ass out, tells all my secrets, uses me, yet smiles right to my fucking face. Probably have to take some 'Take Back' move on him (no pun intended).

Sounds like you could also be relating to "Scumbag" and "Nice Guys Finish Last" right there too.

Stray Heart (it makes me think of a guy I really like, but he and I can never really be together, so it's sad)

Good Riddance (Time of your life) (there's a lot of stuff that's in my head right now and this song makes me realize to make the best of every day)

Troublemaker (I love this song from start to finish and I'm kind of a troublemaker myself so this song's perfect).

Redundant!

I have a job so technically I'm not Redundant, but i just feel so washed up and burnt out out like I'm going fucking nowhere and its just the same shit day after day with nothing good or exiting happening! Its not them most exiting job ever its just go work get through it come home and bum around 'till i have work again! Fucking sucks! I've never particularly thought the song was about actual redundancy more a feeling of being stuck in a boring shity cycle going round and round!

Ya, I never really thought about that song in that way before either, but I can see what your saying. I feel the same way too. I've got a decent job, but I feel like my life is on a constant repeat.

yeah it kinda sucks, still the song is amazing, i think it's pretty underrated as a single! But yeah i think the song can also relate to literally being Redundant as well i think the meaning of a lot of songs can be persevered in a whole bunch of different ways.
