The Disappearing Boy
Other than him initiating makeout sessions with Billie Joe back in the day and claiming Billie (Bill) was his boyfriend. But that was all in the past, of course.I just watched that interview, he said 'well, we're not going to get into that now', or something. as for makeout sessions during concerts and kissing eachother, thats just them giving fans something to laugh at, doesn't mean they are in a relationship.tbh, i don't think it would do the band as a whole any good if 2 of them were in a relationship. sometimes its better to stay just as friends. Hermione and someone else already mentioned the book in which Tre says they were bisexual though, so there's really no question now anyway. We know it's true... Trina
Um yeah, you can't change your sexuality. It's not something you grow out of. Billie's bi. Get over it. kthxbai
DistilledxSpirits
Just because someone kisses someone of the same sex doesn't make them gay/ bi.,I'm straight but I'll kiss girls when I'm drunk or whatever. The guy's sexuality makes no difference to me. Whatever floats their boat.
Sister of Grace
I think its so cool that billie never made a big deal out of being bi or not........ Hes honest and thats what makes him so authentic.......I agree with this. and it is not a big deal.. not for me anyway.
Fuzz
That was pretty interesting. Not Billie Joe, I've seen that quote plenty of times before - but the rest of the entries were interesting. I've always appreciated their stance on it, and how it's never been a big deal to them. I think it helped that Billie Joe met the love of his life before he hit it big, so this has never really been something he had to struggle with in public - nor do I think he would have struggled - but you get what I mean. †...HAUSHINKA...†
I don't care about people sexual preferences..I care only about people freedom..so anyone can be what he likes to be and he can't give explanations about it!!
Poprocks&Coke79
I first read this quote when I was in fifth grade, and it introduced me to open-mindedness. xDD I love Billie Joe for who he is, and actually I think him being bisexual makes me love him a little more. <3 Billie

Trina
Yeah, it's really irritating that some of you people think our little Billie Joe is confused and infact straight. Stop fucking condesending him. He's a smart man. He knows what he's saying. He's bisexual. He said so himself. What more proof do you want? The Disappearing Boy
Am I the only one who thinks that Billie is straight? No. Maybe he was bi (or perhaps confused?) in his late teens/early twenties, but... put it this way, i'd be curious to hear his thoughts on the matter now.Yeah, it's really irritating that some of you people think our little Billie Joe is confused and infact straight. Stop fucking condesending him. He's a smart man. He knows what he's saying. He's bisexual. He said so himself. What more proof do you want?Again I go back to the quote in the magazine article in 1995 (?). At that time he was a young 20 something and he probably was confused/questioning himself at that time (as most do), just all im saying is that a lot has changed since then, he has grown up a lot, got a family/wife etc and may not think the same way anymore. Tripe
It's been awhile since I read this article, but I remember liking his theory. Something along the lines of that there is a continuous line from masculinity to femininity and attraction to either sex at each end. People move back and forth on the line at different times in their life and each person may label a different spot on the line as the "bisexual" or "gay" spot. Some people stay in roughly the same place on the line most of their lives, some people don't. Based on where Billie Joe has been (at least, publicly) for the last 15 years, I'd say he has moved more to the "I like women" side. I would be interested to see what he has to say to this question nowadays. He seems to be smart enough to avoid all questions of this personal nature now. Someone on this board (I forget his username now) who went to one of the signings the band did in the early days of the US tour said he told BJ when he met him at the signing table how much this Advocate article meant to him and how it helped him realize who he is and come out. Apparently BJ was a little nonplussed and didn't know quite what to say!

Spirited Away
PEOPLE OF THE WORLD! BILLIE JOE'S SEXUALITLY DOES NOT MATTER!!!! OR ANYONE ELSE'S FOR THAT MATTER!!! just had to get that out of my system. you should be defined by your sexuality. would his songs be any better or worse for being straight, gay or bi? no. Fuzz
I think you've missed the point. It's reassuring and kind of comforting to have something in common, that feels almost taboo, with someone you look up to. When I first heard about this when I was in high school, it was a big deal for me. Someone I could relate in more ways to someone I looked up to. To see that to him it doesn't matter, it's just comforting, especially when you grow up around a ton of homophobic religious people, to see someone successful and thoughtful and also comfortable with their sexuality. I'm agree with you in some way, we dont know anything about his sexual life, just what he let us know, that is pritty much nothing haha. Well in one concert I saw a video that he said he had anal sex with a guy from a band and he even made him a tattoo XD (that is the only thing that is a fact, because in other video the guy actually admitted billie did it), I dont remember his name right now. Even is that is true or not, he just like to mess up with our minds XD, but I think he is pritty hardcore, maybe could be true or I like to think that ahaha. But what really called my attention was the user who met Billie, so funny. Did he wrote his experience? I would like to read that.

Juliette
On a serious note:I think Billie's theory is pretty accurate, actually.Yeah, it's kinda how I feel about it. I think if he's said he's bi then, he's bi. I'd be interested to hear his answer now as well though, just because it would be interesting to hear if the way he looks at his sexuality, or sexuality in general, is the same.
