I'm not happy with their choice. I was hoping for something like American Eulogy Or Horseshoes and Hand grenades. To be honest, if Green Day wants something that people will like, they need something that sounds a bit american idiot-ish. Because that's what most of the audience is asking for these days.

So yeah I disagree. I don't think people are aiming for things to sound like AI stuff, thats bull. And in no way would Horse shoes and hand grenades be successful, it would have to be censored like mad! LOTAG is catchy so there for will probably do alright, HSAHG is not that catchy, great..amazing song but it's not really single material. but thats just my opinion.

I actually agree with this. I don't want their awesome songs to be censored.. Especially songs like HSAHG would get less attention cause of that >.<

I hoped for The Static Age, but I don't think LOTAG is a bad choice.

H&H would do absolutely awful as a single. It's just not a radio song. It's full of swearing words, and it's not something the general public would like, probably. It's an awesome song, but not meant to be a single.

LOTAG is catchy, and even though I think it's more of an album song than a single song, it's still not a bad choice for a single.

And I'm still very curious to why they didn't pick The Static Age.

I'm quite sure this won't be the last single of 21st CBD. The guys are supposed to tour the whole summer in Europe and than for another fall leg in America.

When they finished their AI tour in Australia 2005, JoS was their latest single. Will work for this year again, I assume.

I shall respectfully disagree. This song is the moment in the album where the pedestal that Christian puts Gloria on (earlier in iVLG!) begins to crack (it falls apart completely soon after in Murder City and Little Girl). I see it as a backhanded compliment (from Christian's perspective I think) about Gloria's dedication to her various causes -- and how at the same time it's not getting her or her comrades in revolution any closer to their goals. So I understand lyrics like "She wears her overcoat/for the coming of the nuclear winter" to mean "look at yourself, girl, you're doing all this rallying and protesting and preparing, but for what? For the next disaster that's going to just kill us all? What good is all your wasted effort if the only certainty at the end of it all is death and despair?" (and then in Murder City and Little Girl, we find out just how "wasted" her effort has been!)

I understand your interpretation, but I think the song is way more positive as a whole than those lines convey. Considering Mike thinks this is about Adrienne, I doubt it's really written in a negative light. I see it more as a girl that is independent and willing to stand up for her beliefs, no matter what shit's about to happen. I don't think I'd mind having Gloria in the video too much, but I don't want Christian in it. I think their romance is really one-dimensional in the videos and I think having him in LOTAG would make Gloria appear less independent.

Lyrically I love this song, but it's style just isn't my favorite. I'd say it's my least favorite song on the album, actually. That said - there isn't one song on the album that I DON'T like - I just don't LOVE this one like I do the rest of the CD.

Still, I'm sure the video will be fucking awesome. It's Green Day - it won't be anything less than fantastic. Looking forward to it!

We will probably only get some stupid Live version of some song. With the American Idiot singles, the only Single that had unreleased songs was AI (the first one). And now with 21CB, KYE (the first single) was the only single with unreleased material (not counting 21 Guns with Favorite Son)

I absolutely agree with every single word you've said.

And seeing how they played Viva La Gloria! in Japan, I really thought that this was a hint at the next single, looks like I was wrong.

I'm not all too much into LOTAG, they better make the best fucking video of all times to make up for the poor single choice.
