Deathwish.
Hopefully the video doesn't suck. Marc Webb needs to pull a 21CB and blow us all away again. He most likely will.
Rebel07
Hopefully its a mostly performance video, I hate videos with actors and a story line.. :bored: usually..
pisquano
Marc Webb will do a good job...He's great...21st Century Breakdown is one of my favorite Green Day videos.
NoVaCaInE!
I really like the 21stCB video, so hopefully this one is just as awesome, Bit of an odd choice for a single though, as they havent been playing it on tour :/ Not one of my favourite songs on the album but it'll be interesting to see what it'll turn out like as a video and single. I hope it doesnt turn out as one of those songs that teenagers love just because of certain lyrics, you know "she puts her make up on..." I can see all the chavs liking it because of that
Tiffx
Really hope there is no literal Christian and Gloria storyline in this video. I would love to see the band performing with some cool background images or something like that.
Saint.Of.Sinners
I'm glad this song is going to be a single, it's always been one of my favourites on the album.I can't wait to see the video. I wish Sam Bayer was directing, though. He did really well on all the American Idiot videos. Marc Webb will do just fine again, I'm sure.

Deathwish.
It would probably because of only the Grammys it jumped.
Agija
I don't think it's the best choice for a single, however, I'm sure they'll make an amazing video. I'm really looking forward to seeing it.

Bastard of 1967
Really hope there is no literal Christian and Gloria storyline in this video. I would love to see the band performing with some cool background images or something like that.I shall respectfully disagree. This song is the moment in the album where the pedestal that Christian puts Gloria on (earlier in iVLG!) begins to crack (it falls apart completely soon after in Murder City and Little Girl). I see it as a backhanded compliment (from Christian's perspective I think) about Gloria's dedication to her various causes -- and how at the same time it's not getting her or her comrades in revolution any closer to their goals. So I understand lyrics like "She wears her overcoat/for the coming of the nuclear winter" to mean "look at yourself, girl, you're doing all this rallying and protesting and preparing, but for what? For the next disaster that's going to just kill us all? What good is all your wasted effort if the only certainty at the end of it all is death and despair?" (and then in Murder City and Little Girl, we find out just how "wasted" her effort has been!)....so I think I'll be disappointed if Marc Webb doesn't bring Lisa Stelly and whatshisface back to reprise their roles as Gloria and Christian, and use their character portrayal to ram this concept home. I have this vision of Lisa putting on some black eyeliner, doing her hair, etc. in front of the mirror (maybe the "morning after," as some filtered sunlight comes through the window of their apartment that got shot up in 21 Guns?) with a cut to the tattoos on her arm or some of the album-related graffiti "outside"....as Billie is singing "She puts her makeup on like graffiti on the walls of the heartland..." Not sure where it goes from there yet...maybe some street protests, riots, tear gas in the air. I do think we need to see some pyro at the end and Gloria taking some pills or just collapsing in exhaustion from the weight of it all. I'm looking forward to seeing what Webb does with it and he'd better not fuck this one up.

I do think we need to see some pyro at the end and Gloria taking some pills or just collapsing in exhaustion from the weight of it all. I'm looking forward to seeing what Webb does with it and he'd better not fuck this one up.First of all, in general I think, for anyone who doesn't know the storyline of 21st Century Breakdown, it will be confusing if it would play out the story of the song, because this song is one with a strong storyline and it probably doesn't make much sense, it's like you open a book you don't know anything on a random page and read it, you're just lost. However, if it plays out the lyrics in a way of the songs being some sort of ode to Gloria (and not as a part of a bigger story), then it would might work. If that's be the case though, I think it might turn out a little cheesy, if that's the right word. Then on your take on the lyrics "She wears her overcoat....", I've never looked at it that way before, it makes much more sense now. Also, I've just only now realized that this song seems like a compliment, something positive to Gloria, but if you look at it, all the lyrics have some sort of black side in them. Maybe I'm just late with realizing that, but that is also a reason why it would might be weird to make the clip play out the lyrics.Going on on your idea for the clip, it might be cool if it started out playing out the lyrics, but then turns into something bigger that isn't a literal take on the lyrics anymore. Maybe based on it (or on thar part of the story, unless they plan on releassing Murder City, Little Girl or Restless Heart Sydrome as a single too and make it follow it `a la Holiday/BOBD) , but not like playing it out.I hope this post makes sense at all, I don't know if it's got a point in it, it's mostly a bunch of scattered thoughts put together in one post, haha. And I'm too tired to re-read it.

-Billiejoezee-
I'm not happy with their choice. I was hoping for something like American Eulogy Or Horseshoes and Hand grenades. To be honest, if Green Day wants something that people will like, they need something that sounds a bit american idiot-ish. Because that's what most of the audience is asking for these days.
