Green Day References

Oh yeah did I mention, I heard the end of When I Come Around when my radio turned on, Wake Me Up When September Ends 90mins later (same station). Then I heard a bit of I Fought The Law on Weekend Sunrise. Then a bit later they were saying what was coming up after Yhe commercial (Billie getting kicked of the plane for saggy pants) and they had shots from the American Idiot video on. Then they actually did the story about Billie, while quoting his and southwest air's twitter and showing more shots of American Idiot. American Idiot was also the title of the story when it was on. My pants are naturally saggy, so my mum told me to pull them up or I would get kicked off the plane. So yeah, that was day.

Saw a pink jumper that says "TRES COOL" in big letters on it in H&M today . I really want it but it's £20 and I could never afford to spend that on a jumper :(

Here in Portugal we have a tv's ad about a supermarket which has Christmas songs and it started being shown in the middle of August. What did I think? "Christmas lights in the middle of August" :D

The other day I was changing channels and I stopped on Fox Life. There was this show on (I don't remember which one it was) and this man said "she's a natural disaster" about a woman called Gloria. Last of the American Girls reference much? :D

Oh and on MTV there's an ad about Storytellers and Green Day is obviously included. They appear playing and Billie answers "it's a real place in my heart, man", to a guy who asks him if BOBD is a real place.

On a Facebook poll-thingo for 'the best singer', Billie Joe had 39 votes. It's a reference inside a reference.

Got a few:

  • I woke up at 10:39 today
  • Met a guy in a blue Dookie shirt at a festival - talked to him (he was nice  )
  • At a festival I heard a guy playing American Idiot on an acoustic guitar - talked to him as well :P
  • Met another GD fan at the festival - didn't meet her again, though...
  • I was thumbing through old music mags, and in one of them are pitures of the journalists and onee of the guys wear a Kerplunk shirt :D

I was listening to the Adam Carolla podcast the other day and he was talking about the white stripes and said something along the lines of "The white stripes are the kind of thing where you watch them for 5 minutes and say, yeah they're pretty cool, but lets go get a beer you know what i mean? You don't do that with something like Green Day."

My mum dragged me to Kohl's against my will the other day and I encountered this sign. I'm not sure what's worse: the fact that pieces of fabric cost more than $100, or that I felt compelled to document it.

Some of my answers in French were 80 and 86, I drew smiley faces next to them. This guy was talking about what if another guy in my class would die (we say they are gay for each other) and he said "good riddance"
