Green Day References

On a sociology book my teacher wrote. Like, wtf? He was talking about Culture and all that stuff, and then he started talking about Emocore:

"Bands who are considered to be Emo by most people are, in a lot of cases, Pop-Punk bands (And that's what Green Day doesn't agree with)."

What was he even trying to state?

Not specifically a Green Day reference, but on the whiteboard in the classroom I've spent thirteen weeks sitting in, I finally noticed the 'Make Poverty History' sticker in the top right corner.

Yesterday I was reading this month's Blitz (a portuguese music magazine) and there were two Green Day references! First of all, there was this small interview of Rui Porto Nunes (an actor) and he was asked which record he couldn't delete off this mp3 player. He had several ones, and Bullet in a Bible was listed there. Besides this, there was a really small article about "Green Day taking American Idiot to Hollywood" It made me really happy, Green Day is NEVER mentioned in any magazine around here...

I can post scans if someone wants them but they're in portuguese.

Someone who sent me a friend-request had 86 friends. It saddened me to break that number.

Today I saw on VH1 their videography (not all, of course). But it featured Basket Case, Walking Contradiction, Macy's Day Parade, American Idiot, Last of the American Girls and Cigarettes and Valentines. Oh, what a great morning

Yesterday I was turned on the TV on Fox and Lie To Me was on. Someone was holding a newspaper whose headline was "Judge's daughter murdered". It wasn't related to Green Day in any way, but it instantly reminded me of them.

In November I went into this local running shoe store and I was getting fitted for a shoe and the guy who was fitting me (he was probably in his 50s) was talking to this other employee about Green Day's 21st Century Breakdown album and how he really liked it, and I was like OMG GREEN DAY IS MY FAVORITE BAND. And then he and I talked about how we listened to Green Day when we ran :D it was pretty cool since no one in my town is really into Green Day like I am.

I was watching How I Met Your Mother, and on the episode of Marshall and Lilly's wedding, they were listing wedding cliches and Ted mentioned using Time of Your Life in a slide show
