Green Day References

My 3 year old nephew saw my Cometbus #54 and asked what it was:

Me "It's a magazine"

Him "*laughs* That's not a magazine!"

Me "What do you think it is?"

Him "Is it a thing for a band?"

Me "Yes it is! Who's that on the front?"

Him "It's Billie Joe"

He recognizes him just from my brother having a homemade Billie Joe doll and seeing a couple of pictures of him months ago. I knew he knew his name because of the doll and hearing us mention him but I can't believe he recognized him on there . I'm impressed!

There's a Green Day poster in one of the changing rooms at a store called BodyMap here in Oslo. :)

Well it's a fact that he has born in Frankfurt but the crazy american fans then explained to me that i was just next to his birthplace....

Well, I know He was born in Frankfurt, I just don't really know where they would know the exact place from

I was reading the obituaries in my local news paper today and this was the poem in one of them

"A year has past

Time moves so fast

We hope that Boulevard

of Broken Dreams led you

to a place where

the lights are bright and

the music plays loud and long."

We miss you.

Direct reference!!

I just saw an ad for a new Hyundai car. They had an instrumental song on piano as background music. There was a part that really was exactly the same as Good Riddance, "It's something unpredictable, but in the end it's right". It suddenly caught my attention and I was like "Huh, whaaaat, Green Day? Oh, stupid car ad"

EDIT: lol, I found it on Youtube, here.

...cuz we're all longingly waiting for the ¡Viva La Gloria! Collab Video.

lagloriabar.png

of course it had nothing to do with Green Day. :whistle

it's a screencap from a documentary about South America/ or Central America. Idk. it was some months ago...

I'm sad, because there's no "Viva" before "La". but it's a bar  - -> Happy St. Patrick's Day, guys. :D

cheers!

The day I went to get my electric from the Guitar Center, I saw a framed poster of Green Day outside on the wall next to a few other bands.

On a student made movie poster, there was a quote on it reading 'You are your own worst enemy'. I automatically thought of Restless Heart Syndrome!

And I've also been getting lots of people saying 'Green Day' thanks to my bag

On St. Patrick's Day, I was walking down the halls and I saw a girl wearing a Bullet In A Bible T-Shirt and I got so happy since I don't see many people around the school wearing Green Day T-Shirts :D

I should have worn mine, but I forgot that it was St. Patrick's day :(

Last week I went to Athens and I had dinner in Hard RocK Cafe, and when I opened the menu in the random page I saw a pic of Billie Joe sitting in a limo... I was hyper excited and when the waiter came next to me and asked me if something was wrong I showed him the picture and he said "Oh yeah, I've seen many fans screaming for that reason" :D
