If this counts, a few years ago, I was in social studies class. I sat next to a friend who knew I loved Green Day. The teacher was talking about Canada, and she said "Do any of you know about a band called Green Day?" I was all "OMGSQUEE" inside and clapped a little. Only my friend noticed and she gave me a look. XD Then the teacher said "They have a song called American Idiot". A bunch of kids said they loved that song, and even this really mean one said he had it on his iPod. The teacher said that Weird Al made a version of it called "Canadian Idiot" and she played it for the class. Then one boy tried to make his own version and sang, to the tune of American Idiot, "I don't wanna be a stupid idiot". Then a girl said "You already are" and everyone laughed. It was AWESOME. XD

A Mexican gas station in town has a large heart hand grenade painted on their front shop window. Not amateur graffiti, it's painted on. I tried asking the clerk who was a GD fan there but he acted like he spoke no English and never answered me. Regardless, I see it everyday driving to work and it makes me smile everytime. :)

I remembered something, one time I was in this group of kids in this therapy thing (don't ask...) and they passed around this book with different colored days ("some days are red days, blue days, etc"). One said "green day" XD I laughed a little, but no one noticed or said anything.

-I saw a big poster for Green Day Rockband in front of the counter at Game Stop.

-I saw a boy wearing the exact same Green Day shirt I had.

-A year later, he was in my social studies class wearing that shirt again, and the teacher said "Why is your Green Day shirt black, red and orange?" The kid said "It's Green Day, what do you expect?"

-One day I was wearing it and a lunch lady said she liked my shirt. XD

-I found out my 7th grade English teacher loved Dookie.

-A show my mom was watching mentioned the thing where American Idiot got a kid out of a coma.

-In 2004 or 2005, a kid was watching the Boulevard of Broken Dreams video at school. The teacher made him turn it off because she thought it was "obscene".

-I saw a kid with a Warning shirt during the School of Rock credits. In the commentary he said something like "They wanted me to wear this really preppy shirt, but I didn't want to. So I wore my Green Day shirt instead. They're so good live." I last heard the commentary like three years ago and only heard it once, so I'm sure that's not exactly what he said, but I think it's close enough.

heres a few:

-i was reading slaughter house 5 and a direct quote says "i held up a bulletproof bible and a pamphlet entitled "know your enemy"." you get the reference.

-a question on my history final exam said "who was the peacemaker of the constitutional convention." i really wanted to cross out cc and write as the answer Billie Joe Armstrong

-i buy Christmas trees on a street called longview rd.

-in my yearbook in the shoutouts part, someone wrote "Billie Joe Armstrong love you rose!" (my name) that made my year

-and my history teachers favorite album is american idiot, he talks about it all the time.

I haven't seen this myself yet, but I've heard that somewhere in Pokémon Diamond and Pearl, there's a Working Class Hero reference. Makes sense that the English version of the game came out later the same year GD released that single. Anyway, apparently there's a worker who says "I'm just a working class hero!" or something like that.

Also... this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W-NHrwJgWzM That has to be a coincidence, though. But the official 21 Guns music video is in the suggestions. o.o I'm not sure if the suggestions are the same for everyone or not, though. If not, never mind.

Earlier I was looking at a book about going green and misread something as Green Day. Then I misread something else as Gilman.

Sort of an accidental reference, but anyway

In science today we were doing an overview on electricity. One of the notes was about static charge, and my friend whispered to me halfway through class

'oh jeez, can I borrow your rubber, I just wrote Static Age'.

I chuckled and my other friend's like

Then when I got to the notes I nearly wrote Static Noise.

We also did something in religion today about Peacemakers.
