I'm going to be near New Jersey when they play there, and I wanted tickets to the show for my birthday (which, if course, I didn't get...) and I saw a something that said 'Armstrong' while I was listening to Green Day, driving to where I'm going to be when they play the show. haha.

I laughed and I said to my mom "That is soooo a sign. ;]"

But alas, it wasn't, like I said. =/

And I saw "Armstrong" on another thing when I was driving through New York.

To me, that was a sign that I would get to see "American Idiot". But again, none of my birthday presents were tickets to anything. =/

Boo.

haha.

I have 3 tales for you!

The weirdest one that I can remember is in year 10 when I was in Chemistry class and my teacher was clearing a load of stuff off the top of his desk and a poster fell out of his copy of Total Guitar, he opened it up and waved it about saying "Does anyone want this?" I looked up from my work (okay my random sketch of a peacock!) and it was a hugemongus poster of Billie Joe from the American Idiot tour...I put my hand up and yelled "ME!" and EVERYONE turned to me and glared. He slowly folded it up and handed it to me and I was so excited I nearly fell off my chair, he then held me back at the end of class. At first he was kinda telling me off for yelling in class then he dug around in the file cabanet beside his desk and pulled out a bunch of posters, he dug through them and pulled out all the Green Day ones and gave them to me...I nearly burst of happiness

We were once in Art class and we had the radio on at a reasonable level and Basket Case came on the radio, at first I was singing under my breath and slowly it began to creep louder and the people on my table began to sing along, we were told to shut up by my teacher then the whole class began to sing along for the rest of the song...apperently you could here it down the hallway in the science block!

Last story is at the end of year assembly, we had a school choir and they sang Boulevard of Broken Dreams...it was AWESOME! It was fucking carnage and anarchy! There were people jumping up and down, singing along, standing on their chairs...I fell off my chair and broke two fingers. The whole time all I could think was Billie Joe would have fucking loved to have seen this, he would have loved to see the passion and the pure disreguard of the rules and the teachers screaming themselves hourse at us all! He would have just smiled that cute, evil smile of his!

Man that was a trip down memory lane for me, it's been 4 years since I left school!

I was driving this morning and the car in front of me's liscense plate was "GD SONG 1"

I don't know if it was supposed to mean Green Day, but that's immediately what I thought of.

Also, when you guys see stuff do you think "I'm totally posting that in the GD References thread when I get home"? Because I do

Don't know if this really counts but this past years my roommate (who knows I love Green Day) woke me up at 12:00 AM October first.

"See! I woke you up when september ended!"

When I was watching "Whose Line is it Anyway" last night, Colin Mochrie said something about alternative music and he said one of his favorites was Green Day! (However, it was for a skit) but, I wasn't expecting that at all! :)

On the quiz machine at the pub I work in, I was playing with the rest staff after closing and one of the questions was "Which 2004 Album was released by Green Day?" before anyone else had even read the question I had hit "American Idiot" and won us £3! It took me litterally a second to read it and answer...they all looked at me weird coz I made a WOOHOO noise and threw my arms into the air!

A Foxboro Hot Tubs reference, but I thought it would still fit in this thread.

yesterday at work, i found another worker's clock-out slip on the ground.

on the clock-out slip, it says the worker's last name, and the time they clocked out, and a bunch of other nonsense.

last name: Fink

clock out time: 20:20

A few days ago I was looking online for some new furniture for when we redo my room, and two of the products were called Adeline and Berkely.

When I was in English class in freshman year, there were posters that kids from another class made about some book, and I guess the main character was named Billie Joe, cause the name was written all over the posters. I almost screamed in the middle of the class! :runaround:
