thenextsexpistol_mak
its amazing how something like that can turn your life around.its not even fair, you know? how could three dudes that you have never met, that live miles away from you and dont even speak youre same language change you so much?how could three guys who dont know you, who dont know anything about you be so important?and write stuff that has so much to do with you?have they even got the slightest fucking clue of how important they are for us? they are our idols. its just fucking insane

Harriet
I have no idea who I would be today without Green Day. I would like to have a time machine thing to show me what I would be like now had i never heard their music. It's a scary thought, but it is interesting
mad hatter.
Green Day was the band that originally got me interested in rock music, so i'd say so. And I've met a couple of my best friends through fan sites of theirs. I talk to and hang out more with my friends I met thru this band than I do with friends at school lately, tbh. Nikki_Nimrod
Absolutely. It's hard to even imagine what my life would be like without them... I changed completely, from little things like the way i dress and the things i'm interested in, to the bigger things, like my viewpoint on a lot of issues going on (i used to not even HAVE a viewpoint!), and my overall state of mind and outlook on life. I've become so much more confident in myself, and not afraid to speak out. Their music helped me through some really hard times, and I've made so many new friends! And like many people here have said, they made me the happiest I've ever been in my life. I really do love them to death!
Sarahnade.
I got into Green Day at age 10, so that's a really young age to become obsessed with such an impactful band. Being a 5th grader and listening to American Idiot was amazing. I think Green Day matured me. I learned about life through all of their albums, and as the years have gone by, I think I act more like a 30 year old than a 15 year old, haha. It's odd because my peers at school still behave the way I did when I was 10. I think it's because they didn't have anything that really changed them like Green Day did for me. I never feel like I can truly connect with anyone at school because I seem to be light years away from them in my mind. I think about politics, music, writing, and stuff more. People at school aren't into that stuff. I don't know..I just think Green Day influenced me to be who I am, and without them, I wouldn't be who I am now. Trotsky
Music has never changed who I am. It has helped me rationalize the way I am, it helps me make feelings and emotions reasonable and real. But it doesn't create thoughts in me, it helps me understand my thoughts.

Tamy15
They had completely changed me.... I mean, before I was so insecure of myself, I was like, you know, those girls who dresses in a particular way just to feel they are what the people wanted them to be, but I started to listen to Green Day and I changed my mind a lot, and now I'm another person, I'm proud of myself and what I am, and I dont want to change anymore, I dont care what the people thinks of me... I'm just being myself and it's something I learnt because of Green Day...
Farah
Not really... i guess that if i changed it's only been for the fact that i'm growing and understanding things better now, but it hasn't got to do anything with them...so nope:PMusic has never changed who I am. It has helped me rationalize the way I am, it helps me make feelings and emotions reasonable and real. But it doesn't create thoughts in me, it helps me understand my thoughts.^wow actually, you couldn't say that any better, i agree with this. AndrewW91
Green Day has changed me in a lot of ways.I used to be pretty insecure and stuff about myself before I started listening to Green Day.Also, the song Coming Clean influenced me a lot and helped me a lot when I came out of the closet.I actually believe that if it wasn't for Green Day I'd still be miserable and in the closet. And thats one of the reasons that it kind of pisses me off and hurts my feelings when people tell me that Green Day sucks or other things like that, I know everyone has their opinions, but they're saying it just to get at me. pau72
they changed me a lot ,a couple of a year I was shy and is like they changed my actittude and a different point of view of some things. It was what I needed...
!Viva La Analee!
they changed me a lot. they changed me on how to look at music, like i could probably careless for music, and just listen to the rap shit on ther radio if i didn't start listening to green day, but nope, i listen to like classic rock, and punk rock, and stuff like that. and i would've never started playing guitar either. And they also taught me not to be so shy and insecure, and to speak my mind.
GreenDayHolic19
They have changed me or I must say they kept me alive. When I first started listening to Green Day I was in depression. My dad passed away, I had no goal whatsoever in life, I started to feel very insecure. Then it hit me. That day changed me for ever. The day that MTV Romania aired the video for "Wake me up when september ends". I came rushing in the room watching the TV absolutely amazed by what I was seeing. These guys were actually singing about the worst thing that could ever happen to me and it made me feel so much better. That was my life right there on the tv sang by the most amazing voice I could ever hear. They saved me from commiting suicide. They saved my life. I`m gratefull to them that I`m still alive and kicking. I started downloading the discography right away. I fell in love with Green Day instantly. Penguin Puffball
Most likely. Like that you gotta be your own individual, not a stupid clone of the mainstream shit. (That was probably more back from the earlier days, but oh well).
iamtheju
I dont think they've changed me at all. I'v changed a little since i'v listened to them, but who doesn't change in like, however many years it's been. lolProbably the thing that changes me the most is my friends and the people i see every day. Music only affects my mood really, making me happy or sad or whatever, but i'm still the same old me in the end.

Gigawiz
I started to listen to Green Day cuz I went to an uncles house for the summer and with no tecnology there but a Sony Stereo System I had chose the one CD I had never heard in my house.I liked Green Day just as much as the average person likes them the "Don't wanna be an American Idiiiot" way, one single music know by everyone everywhere(Ok lots of people in lots of places -.-').I had a Sony Cd -walkman for the trip (Yes a walkman! and I own VHS cassets and VCR!) and after "THE" song I listend to that sweet sweet hymn for the first time.I'M THE SON OF RAGE AND LOVE!Wait that's me! And at the end "Oh your leaving Hooome!"Congratufuckinglations your the damn King of Coincidences! To tryand sum it up because from there on my life felt like one giant coincedence with the album and basically...I fell in love listening to Gree Day, I cried listening to green day and came home listening to Homecoming step throught the door to my room screaming Home!!! We're coming home again! And there even was a Whatshere name in my life (I don't LIKE TO talk about that).Yes I love American idiot, yes I think beside the fact dookie has sold more copies that AI is better. (It's jsut em talking)And I am mister individuality, I don't care. The son of rage and love. Not to say that it didn't mold me as a person Gd really did.But part of that was dorment at all it required was just something to get it going.Like TV dinners.Rage and Love. amy_runs
If I never got into Green Day, I would just follow the crowd, and wouldn't be an individual.
Strychnine Fink
hell yeah they have. Green Day got me into music; without them, I wouldn't be the same person I am today. I would never have learned to play the guitar or made a band wihtout their inspiration
Sharmellow
I wouldn't really say they changed me, but they helped me realize and they defined what individuality really is.

Angie-Marie
I'm not really sure. I got into Green Day when I was 9, I don't know if I'd have grown up to be any different if I hadn't gotten into Green Day that young. I'd say maybe they planted the seeds for me to get into stuff like the Ramones and The Clash as I got older. The only thing I can say for sure they changed in me is that they were my inspiration to get over my fear of driving. I desperately wanted to see them live and the only way for me to go was to drive so I faced my fear and finally got my license.
Aurora
they helped me to not grow up as a mindless, trend following teenager. they taught me to be myself and not fucken care about what everyone else taught. and of course, they introduced me to punk rock. There's no way I could thank them enough for everything they've given me.
