lobob92345
I think Green Day helped me just kind of understand myself better and realize that it was ok to dissent from the popular opinion sometimes if it makes you happy and it's not hurting anyone else. They also helped me become more confident and thanks to their music most of all I now know that I want to go into the record industry when I grow up to help support all the good music being created in the world. Deniz.
I learned to think, because of Green Day. I listen to them since I am 10 years. And it changed my life completely. I wouldn't be so how i am, now. (wrong english )..
Maddy.
They had completely changed me.... I mean, before I was so insecure of myself, I was like, you know, those girls who dresses in a particular way just to feel they are what the people wanted them to be, but I started to listen to Green Day and I changed my mind a lot, and now I'm another person, I'm proud of myself and what I am, and I dont want to change anymore, I dont care what the people thinks of me... I'm just being myself and it's something I learnt because of Green Day...This.they helped me to not grow up as a mindless, trend following teenager. they taught me to be myself and not fucken care about what everyone else taught. and of course, they introduced me to punk rock. There's no way I could thank them enough for everything they've given me.and this

Aldana
Yes, absolutelyI don't know how i could be right now without Green Day. They changed my life, they gave me hopes, and their songs made me feel that i wasn't alone, they made me believe in things, they show me life. And I changed my clothes, my feelings, my thoughts, and my mind!. Green Day saved me ♥
Spark of Insanity
Yes, but then at the same time no.You see Green Day has made me more aware of myself and who I am as a person. But they haven't shaped my views or morals. Some of the things I agree with or disagree with, fight for and whatnot weren't shaped strictly from them. I made an informed decision and it is what I have researched and what I personally have believed. A band cannot change those things for me. But Green Day has vastly changed my musical taste. Made me open up to a wide array of music and since music is a huge part of my life. It inevitably changed me as a person. I have evolved over the years and I think that Green Day can attribute to a portion of that since they are a big part of my life. They have helped me get over things sort of as a theraputic outlet of sorts and to get intuned with myself as a person. Music is me and it is my life. So of course they have somehow affected me. And through listening to music; I generally think and fine myself. Its something to help me reflect on my life and issues and who I am as a person. dolce
I also like to look at how much has happened in my life since I've started listening to them. I mean yes, they've positively changed me and my life in many ways, but to see how much the world around me has changed, and the events in my life that have taken place in my life astonish me. Music has a way of representing certain times in people's lives. Like, "When this thing happened, I remember I couldn't stop listening to..." or "When that happened, this song got me through it". Music is a lot like a tattoo - its a way of remembering the ups and downs of your life.

GreenDay808
its amazing how something like that can turn your life around.its not even fair, you know? how could three dudes that you have never met, that live miles away from you and dont even speak youre same language change you so much?how could three guys who dont know you, who dont know anything about you be so important?and write stuff that has so much to do with you?have they even got the slightest fucking clue of how important they are for us? they are our idols. its just fucking insaneyeah! i think about that all the time. i mean, my parents for example, i LOVE THEM TO DEATH!, but to be honest, they don't have that much of an impact on me as green day has. I wish i could tell these guys that. they don't even know we exist, but we know everything about them and we worship the ground they walk on. how is that possible?! i've never met them, but i would do basically anything for them, to keep them safe and happy. weird i know!i wish i could tell them that....face to face. and how can you be in love with someone you don't even know??? i love tre to death man!!!its freakishly scary. not even funny.... :/
Trina
Green Day has changed my life alot. I know some people think that a band shouldn't change you, but I feel like many things change you whether the change be a small tweak or a 180 and that if things change you for the good, then so be it. I got into Green Day this month, five years ago. I was eleven and was going into my last year of primary school. Today I am 16 and am going into my last year of secondary school. I wouldn't be who I am if it weren't for Green Day. I'd be worse. If it weren't for Green Day I very probably would not have gotten into music so besides missing out on them I'd also miss out on all the other amazing artists. I would be far less of an individual and I'd just try and be like everyone else. I would feel far more isolated and I would feel I was insane because of my anxiety, paranoia and depression. I wouldn't have found punk and chosen that lifestyle for myself. I'd have not gotten into fashion and art. I'd have no real interests. I wouldn't have connected with my family and in particular my dad so much. I wouldn't have such strong opinions on things and I'd be less educated, less strong-willed. There'd be a massive void in my life and I know for certain that I wouldn't be here (and I don't mean GDC).I don't copy or take on Green Day's beliefs, tastes, styles, etc but they helped me realise that it was great to have my own and to be myself. To stand for something. To live for something. I love this band and I cannot describe what they mean to me.

Trina
oh yes. i've totally changed. people notice it too. i REALLY got into them this past summer, and came back to school and everyone was like "your wearing black nail polish. you wear black clothes. you act so different!" it's not that i'm gothic now, its just, i'm finding myself interested in things i would have never been into last year. i LOVE hot topic now. i'm so much more of a "rocker" or whatever. people tell me that all the time. i took a great interest in rock music now. i was a goodie good before, the one who never did any wrong. but after listening to green day i've changed. i take more risks and i'm more confident in who i am and who i wanna be or what i wanna do with my life. they've helped me so much. i just wish i could tell them that, face to face...... :/

GarinRichards
Green Day obviously changed the way that I listen to music and what music I do listen to. But the biggest change is in how I think for myself now.Because of them I have had a different outlook on religion and the government than before. And because of that I think I bettered myself! lost_rock_star1972
After a long battle with myself (talking about 8 months) I learned, with the help of a BJA quote about Minority, to be myself and allow that to be ok with me. At first I copied their clothes, beliefs, etc. but it ended up being quite the journey of self discovery. Thanks to Billie, mike and tre for that. I owe 'em.
