Especially from what I've heard about him on stage. I think he put himself in the mindframe of being the outrageous Reverend and just completely went for it. At the time it came out obviously they weren't allowed to put the lyrics in the booklet, but Billie Joe put out a message telling the public the lyrics (I'm not sure where, maybe via their fansite or something). He clearly felt it was important that people knew the exact right words I've seen the message on the net somewhere, and it was indeed "dirty twat" and "waste of semen".
