Just so full of optimism. A good song to listen to, to get that feeling.

pinhead gunpowder life during wartime-

Yeah we say making changes

Starts in the little things you do

"Revolution begins at home"

But for most of us it ends there, too

Hmmmm. Either

"I'm part of the faggot America / I'm not part of a redneck agenda"

or

"Purple plastic earrings / Finger down her throat" ("Hungry Hungry Models," from the Network album)

(The former: I'm not gay, but am a friend to the LGBT community...also have been an "art fag" all my life...plus I live in Tennessee where I'm surrounded by, well, idiotic ideas I want no part of.

The latter because the entire Network album is bloody brilliant, but that song in particular just lights up my Christmas tree...)

I looove these

"well I'm not stoned I'm just fucked up

I got so high I can't stand up

well I'm not cursed 'cause I've been blessed

I'm not in love cause I'm a mess"

and OMG, On The Ave by Pinhead Gunpowder (I know Aaron wrote that one, but still)

I like how in East Jesus Nowhere he says "I never asked you a god damn thing!"

And then in Static Age, he says "All I want to know is a god damn thing, not what's in the medicine."

I love that.

I don't know what my all-time favorite line is, though, because there are a lot of them.

A few I can think of...

"One face in the crowd, unsung against the mold." - Minority

"Well look this direction/I know it's not perfection, it's just me/I want to bring you up again now" - One for the Razorbacks... that one's probably my favorite line, actually. I love it.

"Check my vital signs to know I'm still alive" - Blvd. of Broken Dreams

"What's the latest way that a man can die, screaming hallelujah?" - Static Age

"City of the Damned/Lost children with dirty faces today/No one really seems to care" - Jesus of Suburbia

"Open the past and present and the future too/It's all I've got and I'm giving it to you" - Scattered

"Where there's truth, you know I'll be there/Amongst the lies, you know I'll be there" - Poprocks and Coke

Two lines from Before the Lobotomy:

"The brutality of reality is the freedom that keeps me from... dreaming"

and

"Dying, everyone's reminded/Hearts are washed in misery, drenched in gasoline"

"Well maybe your the runner up, but the first one to lose the race" - Horseshoes and Handgrenades

"You are the moonlight of my life every night" - Last Night on Earth

I could keep going. I just love the way Billie writes.

"The world is a sick machine breeding a mass of shit",

"pressure cooker pick my brain and tell me I'm insane",

all of Before The Lobotomy,

"Now you see me now you don't, Don't ask me where I'm at, Cause I'm a million miles away"

"Oh well, too bad, who cares, it's all right. As long as we will stick together"

"Voices in my head, They're telling me that I am lost, Pills and alcohol, Are making me a lost cause"

I love "I don't give a shit about the modern age!" Both the line and the way Mike sings it. It feels like a battle cry to me.

Ttie between "You may find out that your self-doubt means nothing was ever there;you can't go forcing something if its just not right"(When I Come Around), "My generation is zero, I never made it as a working class hero"(21st Century Breakdown) and "Theres a boy who fogs his world and now he's getting lazy, there's no motivation and frustration makes him crazy, he makes a plan to take a stand and always ends up sitting, someone help him up or he is gonna end up quitting"

Though it is pretty hard to beat "I wanna be your dominated love slave" :P
