greendaytone
Not a Green Day lyric as such, but i was thinking of this, this morning..."You're a bunch of funny little people!"... from Woodstock '94. I love the way he says that. Quite a humorous Green Day show by all accounts!
Ila Reto
i've been thinking about When I Come Around tonight, i love the song to death but sometimes i cant get the lyrics right for the life of me!"im just roaming for the moment sleazing my backyard so dont get so uptight"now how the heck to i actually sing that! lol-----------i think it's unhealthy that im so addicted to On the Ave lately. listening to it over and over atm, may as well post some lyrics. "We chased each other wet and soggy like a crashing waveGrey and filthy in the gutter breaking all over the placeDown the ave. in the pouring rainSaying, even more! even more!At the reservoir you impaled your wristOn razor wire climbing the fenceI cut my thumb trying to climb into the blind-deaf school"[edit] im posting the whole thing"I had some friends, a psychotic coupleThey had a room in a residential hotelThey fought in the bedWhile we fucked on the floorWe'd only slept an hour together whenThe manager set the place ablazeI awoke to the smoke and flamesand had to kick down the doorTime rolls over meTime rushes over meWhy try to run so fastIt still passes you byWhy talk about what could have beenWhy walk around lost reliving momentsWhy walk around at allWhen it's easier to drive a car"oh my god  beautiful song! sharon mitchell
I have to listen to On The Ave at least once a day too. And Anniversary Song. And West Side Highway. My favourite Pinhead lyrics are from Brother - "Well you selfish little motherfucker, I hope I never live to see you hurt another, cuz life you touch is life you smother - like mine..." I also love the way lines and themes from Pinhead songs crop up in GD ones.

Farah
"In the streets of shameWhere you've lost your dreams in the rainThere's no signs of hopeThe stems and seeds of the last of the dopeThere's a glow of lightThe St. Jimmy is the spark in the nightBearing gifts and trustThe fixture in the city of lustWhat the hell's your name? What's your pleasure and whats your pain?Do you dream to much?Do you think what you need is a crutch? In the crowd of pain. St. Jimmy comes without any shameHe says “we're fucked up”But we're not the sameAnd mom and dad are the ones you can blameJimmy died today !He blew his brains out into the bayIn the state of mind it's my own private suicide"I cant choose a favourite line from here ,They're all amazing

Masked
"better thank your lucky stars." I think it's in the song waiting. since some dood already took it in myspace, I put mine with "starx". I did the best I could.

Hermione
Oh my, I'm also still addicted to On The Ave I also love the way lines and themes from Pinhead songs crop up in GD ones.Yeah totally! "I Walk Alone" springs to mind . And I like how each Pinhead album/EP seems to be related to whatever Green Day album they were working on at the time. Like how Carry The Banner has slightly angry, bitter songs, like Insomniac. And the later songs are a bit more folky, like Warning. It's cool how that happened even though it was Aaron writing the songs. What an amazing songwriter he is, I can read those lyrics for hours! I love Crazy Horse,Sitting...with a mischievous grinStaring...she drew me in with her eyesAnd held me there with her lips

You're gonna need it/where I'm/going if I get there at all!... oh, I'm so much closer than I have ever known... Wake up! WOOT!But what I came in here to share is this line, probably in my top 5 favorite lines in ANY GD song, for some reason. I put this as my myspace status a lot lolWhere do we go from here and what did you do with the directions? Promise me no dead end streets, and I'll guarantee we'll have the road...I think that entire song is brilliant, really.

Something about the lyrics - especially those lines, funnily enough. It's definitely one of my favourite Pinhead songs, the whole thing is beautiful. farley drexel hatcher
^ same, i've been obsessed with the song since I first heart it. The lyrics, the way he sings it; I can't really pinpoint it, but I know it's one of my all time favorites.I love that song, too - it makes me feel so wistful.I've been listening to my Green Day Plus Sides playlist all evening, and I've heard most of the songs people have discussed just above (Church on Sunday, MPLS, On the Ave v2, Waiting, Christie Road, Panic Song ...). I love shuffle.Anyway, this line from Letterbomb just played - so simple, but ... the way he sings it ..."...and don't look back..."What a voice with what a heart behind it!
