Hopefully it'll pick up the awards for Cinematography and Direction. It certainly at least deserves the Cinematography over that damn Single Ladies video. As much as I like Twilight, it's the VIDEO awards, not the MOVIE awards. Although, I think the award for best song in a movie or whatever was the only one Twilight didn't get at the Movie Awards, and that was Paramore, and I'm pretty sure it was fan voted too. So we may have a chance with this one unless they want to make sure they don't lose again. If they start being a bit braver with their choice of singles and videos (whoever it is that chooses them, fairly sure not the band), they might get somewhere. Honestly, you'd think a band that sticks their neck out to make such a wonderful ambitious album would be allowed to stick their neck out a bit more with what they release from it. Releasing the two most conventional songs with less-than-ambitious videos doesn't do the album justice. Bring on East Jesus Nowhere!Of course, we should all still get voting. Nothing came up that said I voted.I'm not shocked that they only got one main nomination, but I am upset. I mean, this is Green Day. When they first came out, Green Day were on MTV non-stop, or, at least that's what I've heard. They were nominated for 8 moonmen in '05, and won 7 of them! What's different now? This album was much more anticipation, and it's as good as AI, or possibly better, imo. I was expecting them to get a slew of nominations, and I'm disappointed that they didn't.This just goes to show that the quality of the music band's make doesn't matter to the majority of young people anymore. I mean, KOL are alright, I guess, and some of the fellow nominees aren't TERRIBLE, but Green Day stick out like a sore thumb in that category. Most of the bands in there have only been around for a few years and only have a few catchy singles. Green Day are argubly one of the best rock bands of the generation. Yet, they only get one nominations? Bullshit.This is the MTV VMA's, though. I guess I shouldn't have expected much. I'm sure when the Grammy's roll around early next year, our boys will get loaded with nominations. I'm sure a handful of Grammy's would be more of an honor to Billie, Mike, and Tre then stupid VMA moonmen too, haha.As for them not winning - I think they can win. I mean, I don't see Paramore or FOB fans as being totally devoted and constantly voting for them. I think if us GD fans vote a lot, and we recruit others to vote, they will win. If we get trapped in the Twilight Zone and GD somehow lose, I'll be certain that I lost my faith in the majority of people and their tastes of music.All in all, Green Day deserved more than one main nomination and two direction/editing or whatever else small MTV coughed up for them.
