YAY for Green Day! :D

I'm going to wait until tonight and watch all the VMAs (on TMF at 9).

When i look at the TMF guide on its website it says that at 9 it is "Kerry Katona: Crazy In Love"?

I hope that is wrong :/

I just watched the performance again, hmmmm

But although I recorded it on HQ, it doesn't look like HQ....

Oh well.

And I can't believe that I'm not tired at all after last night (this thread aka spam from about 7pm till 11pm, sleeping from almost 12am(midnight, right?) to almost 2am, being all hyper from 2am to 6:30am, sleeping from 6:30 till 8:30 ). Without anything caffeine-holding xD

The VMA Thread is 150 pages. So I figured I would start a new topic....

Was that the Bill Schneider following Billie through the crowd? The guy was in a suit with fairly short hair, pretty sure it was him.

Wow, ths thread exploded.

I'm so so so SO glad they won, and I can't wait to see their performance tonight :woot:

^^(Most of) This. :)

A few thoughts before I try to get some work done.

1. I like the 21 Guns video, but TBH I really hadn't thought it had what it takes to compete with the rest of today's manufactured pop/rock/hip-hop MTV culture. The fact that Green Day managed to walk away with three awards for it just shows you again how creative, dedicated, and hard-working the boys still are.

2. So does the fact that they can walk into a hoity-toity, red-carpet, celeb-obsessed, bling and paparazzi-filled awards ceremony, treat it just like any other concert venue, and in less than four minutes mind-meld with the audience and blow the fucking roof off the place. I've never seen anyone work a room like Billie Joe can. All the other performances last night (see: Lady Gaga  ), maybe with the exception of Beyonce's (kudos to her for getting the crowd into her act even just a little bit), were about the performer....it was just like another video shoot, the audience is just there as a prop, etc..... Not so for Green Day. Their live gigs are all about the audience, it shows in everything they do on stage, and I love 'em for that.

3. Madonna reached into some very dark places in her soul when she delivered her opening tribute to Michael Jackson, and it really brought her back down to earth. Briefly, you could see her (and MJ) as two ordinary people, each with their own crosses to bear, connecting with each other for a moment, searching for a way to recapture something that was lost/stolen from them, and trying to find a way through the maze of a life they'd each invented for themselves. Hats off to her for being so open and candid, in front of so many people, with a subject that had to have been so difficult for her to discuss.

4. Kanye West.....

5.. Lady Gaga.....

6. Beyonce's got some real class. Yeah, she's a diva but there's still a heart in there, and we saw some of that last night.

All depends on how loudly the penguin can yell "STAND THE F*CK UP!!!!!" :)

Are you implying Billie is a penguin :o ?

sarcasm fail by me.

Tré's axe penis made my week.

When Jack Black started handing off the axe you could have seen the words going through my mind: "no, no, not to Tre, give it to anyone else but not Tre"...!!!

Yeah, it was a security guy... and even though the VMA thread has 150 pages, this doesn't need its own thread.

hahahah  You are talking about Billie's blond a part in his black hair like is was like he had blue hair again like he had during Wookstock 1994.

Yeah I noticed that, didn't think it was him though.

I've merged this into the VMA thread, because that's where it belongs. I saw Matt, one of the security guys in a suit and tie staying very close to Billie in the crowd, but I didn't see Bill Schneider following him around to provide security (and that's not Bill's job anyway).

I showed the EJN performance to my mum.

All she did was looking at the TV, sometimes laughing at me, and laughed when I was all like "look how awesome this is!"

The only thing she said was "I really don't like that weird lock in his hair"

Parents just don't understand that seeing this at least should make you smile a bit.
