Peel Slowly And See
Influence is in absolutely every song on this album. That's the central theme. I know it'd never happen, but I had an idea about how cool it would be if different artists performed each song.1. Song Of The Century - 2. 21st Century Breakdown - The Who3. Know Your Enemy - Carbon/Silicon4. ¡Viva La Gloria! - 5. Before The Lobotomy - 6. Christian's Inferno - Beck7. Last Night On Earth - Elton John8. East Jesus Nowhere - Rancid9. Peacemaker - Gogol Bordello10. Last Of The American Girls - Tom Petty And The Heartbreakers11. Murder City - PJ Harvey12. ¿Viva La Gloria? (Little Girl) - Mekons13. Restless Heart Syndrome - Arcade Fire14. Horseshoes And Hand Grenades - The Hives15. The Static Age - Bruce Springsteen16. 21 Guns - 17. American Eulogy - The Hold Steady18. See The Light - AC/DCSo you can say where you think I'm wrong, what you would put in, and stuff like that. Help me fill in those four I have blank, too. Also, here's a rule: The artist has to be musically active. They cannot be dead and the band cannot be defunct. mallorymaloney
4. ¡Viva La Gloria! - Avril Lavigne.I know, I know, most people on here want her to spontaneously combust, etcetera etcetera, but I personally like a lot of her music. And think about it --- A studio version of her singing Viva La Gloria! would sound pretty goddamn awesome, especially since the midway point of 'She smashed her knuckles into winter' has a very similar guitar riff to Avril's song Girlfriend. She'd nail the highest notes, too.

Peel Slowly And See
At first it just seemed like American Girls was just a phrase and it had no relevance to the song American Girl. Then you realize that the choruses sound similar.

Peel Slowly And See
A lot of those are bad choices IN MY OPINION, but I considered Springsteen for the titular track (The Who just works better), McCartney for Last Night On Earth, and The Offspring for East Jesus Nowhere. Rancid taking on Enemy and Weezer taking on Last Of The American Girls are good ideas.Beck is perfect for Christian's Inferno, by the way.
Welshy
There's a song thats meant to sound like EJN by Marilyn Manson but I forgot the name of it.And the chorus from 21 Guns sounds like the Full House theme apparently.
Juan
if the Who should do a song here, it should be Before The Lobotomy, good call with Gogol Bordello

Nele
14. Horseshoes And Hand Grenades - The Hiveswell they made main offender, which sounds pretty similar to H&H, but i don't think Pelle has the voice to scream around like Billie did. he's more the high/shrill screaming type. Lauren
I say Paul McCartney could do Last Night On Earth... I mean Billie stole the lyric from him. but I could also see Paul doing Before The Lobotomy!
